Then he used the machine that blows puffs of air into them to check for diabetes and glaucoma. In the middle of this test the optician came up behind him and told him that the machines wouldn't give any results as I was wearing contacts this should've been an obvious question as my prescription is so deep that I can't see without any lenses hrmmm apparently it was 'let's play qualified optician' day for the staff. Meanwhile, I was happy with the actual service and examination from the optician that attended to me although I made sure to skip the sales pitch after the appointment, from the psudeo assistant that did my initial 'tests'. Hopefully I'll be ok with the new prescription she provided. I have strong doubts about the healthcare system in this country and today's visit to specsavers just proved my concerns.

I have to say that coming from a well known high street chain of opticians, I was a bit scepticle about changing my optician. However, I'm soooo glad I did in the end because not only was the sight test the most thorough I've ever had (and only a tenner), but I bought a pair of stunning Prada frames which were cheaper than the ones listed on other Web Outlets. The dispenser took time in advising me on colours and frame shapes - the kind of service that never existed at my old opticians! I have a complicated prescription but they made the experience painless and I was over the moon when I collected my designer glasses a week later. They are very kid friendly and we always go here for my sons glasses. The staff are patient and spend ages helping you select the right frames. They get the glasses made promptly. They have offered us repairs for free when we have bent the frames. Because it is part of Boots you can get advantage points on your purchases. I like the service in this shop, they are efficient but still very personable.

The eye tests are very good and the optician spends sometime checking your eyes and conducting a number of tests, plus providing advice about eye care. I think this was much better than the chains out there.
