I understood, explained the reason for my no show and scheduled. unfortunately for me I've been transitioning in insurance coverage so when I wasn't sure about my insurance I called and canceled and explained again why. 1. I scheduled an appointment online and without fault of mine was informed that my appointment couldn't be kept and if I could come in at a different time. I agreed. 2. I was then informed that I had three no shows and would not be scheduled. I corrected them, told them I was made aware of their policy before and that's why I had canceled my third appointment, so it would not be held against me. They didn't care and told me I could walk in without appointment and take my chances. I told them to forget about my future business with them. 3. When it was their system at fault for my needing rescheduling I did not hesitate to accommodate them. 4. When it came time for them to listen to me and admit their evaluation was wrong they completely disregarded what I said and refused to schedule me anyway. Does anyone else see the hypocrisy here???

They even knew I'd be buying my glasses online and they gave me no grief at all about it. Just tried to educate me on what to look for. The Optometrist, not so good. I know with COVID we need to wear masks, I get that. But when I can't get one test done without it fogging up the test lenses, that is a problem. No solutions were offered to me, just eventually he handed me a qtip and had me clean the testing lenses every single time. He pretty much only wanted to give me a Progressives option, and when I asked for Computer intermediate measurements he struggled with those. Ultimately he gave me a VERY wrong prescription which led to me buying glasses that are totally useless to me. The unfortunate part, beyond him, is when I called Dr. Tavel's to inform them of the mistake, they wanted me to bring the lenses over to ensure that isn't the problem. Even though I explained that I've been tracking my prescriptions for 8 years and this was a more radical change than all 8 years combined. I went to another Optometrist in Muncie, my usual, and he got me taken care of properly, and got me the correct prescription. I'd love to say who that is, but if I do then people might discount it as me just doing this to advertise for him. I want people to know the truth, with no ulterior motives. I didn't ask for a refund and I won't. Not worth the hassle, but hopefully this will be helpful to anyone in Muncie thinking about going here with the idea that they can be seen sooner. Don't let my mistake become yours. Be patient and find someone who will take time with you and do a good job.

He treated my daughter with respect and gave her eye medicine, again, free of charge. I'm not sure how many of these 'pro bono' type cases he does normally, but I'm so thankful that he chose my daughter to be the recipient of his great services. The only bad thing I can say is that we had to wait over an hour for our appointment but hey...it was worth it :)
