    Hospital take away menu
    Bobby Y.

It's a real treat to have an alternative to the hospital cafeteria food, especially one that delivers right to hospital suites. Virtues offers a wide variety of menu items with breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Everything I received was of good proportion and tasty. Loved the push for farm fresh local ingredients. The hospital room delivery service was great. They had meals up in 20 minutes. That's better than a lot of hotel room service. So if you or your loved ones are admitted to Akron City, this is a good alternative to the standard hospital fare. Oddly, they do not deliver breakfast, only lunch and dinner. So bribe a nurse or do a you fly I buy deal. It's on the pricier side, example being an $11 burger, but beats taking a car downtown to Crave or Luigi's for carryout.

    Grilled pork chop

Worst food I've had in a long time. God bless the high school kids who (I wasn't aware of the amateur staff) prepared the meal, but it severely lacks skillful melding of flavors and textures. I ordered the grilled pork chop ....then the romaine salad after sending back the chop. Bland. Boring. I couldn't stomach either. I eat food of accomplished chefs regularly and this is sub-amateur at best.

My personal pepperoni pizza from Virtues

Was at Akron City Hospital for an appointment in the afternoon. My hubby and I thought we would try Virtues since the receptionist at the dr. said it was good. Beautiful restaurant for being located in a hospital. Very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My hubby ordered a side salad and a cheeseburger. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich. My hubby loved the salad. Said the house dressing was excellent. I was going to take a picture of my hubby's burger but it was half eaten before I could get my phone out. It looked amazing and my hubby said it was. Also said it was one of the best burgers he has had in awhile. Wish I could have said the same thing about my chicken sandwich, but it was real grizzely and like chewey. I couldn't eat it. I told our server I wanted to try the pizza and she asked what was wrong with the sandwich, so I told her what I thought of it. It was removed from our bill and she brought me a personal pepperoni pizza. I absolutely loved the pizza. For me it had the perfect amount of cheese and the sauce was fresh and very good. It crust was nice and crisp. The pepperoni had the right amount of spice. Just an all over good pizza for me. (but next time I'm trying a cheeseburger). Have an appointment at the hospital next week in the am. Can't wait to try the breakfast. Definitely going back.

Half crabcake appetizer. Delicious, but only one for $7.

Stopped here for a quick bite after a doctor's appointment. My mom and aunt split a cheeseburger and Caesar salad and I got half of the crabcake appetizer. Both were delicious but portions were small for the money. This plus two coffees cost $24. The appetizer was only one small crabcake. It was excellent, but I think of a half appetizer as being two and a whole as being four. It cost $7. I could have gotten an entire meal for $12. I don't think I'll be eating here again unless I have no choice.

Absolutely love this place. Dining does not feel like you're in a hospital. The eggplant soup is one of the best soups I've ever eaten.

I usually wouldn't give a place 5 stars if I was just there for a drink, but this pistachio martini was just too good, and I'm still thinking about it days later. And the interior of this place was cool. I want to come back the next time I'm in town. I got the Banana Bread Espresso Martini because I was interested... hadn't heard of it before. But it was just okay. It was kind of watery, and mine had pieces of ice in it. I guess it was just hard to go from the creaminess of the pistachio one to the more bitter banana bread one. All in all, cool place, great happy hour prices, and really delicious, unique pistachio martini! Go here even just for that. See ya next time; thanks for having me!

I've been able to walk in and grab a seat at the bar, but this place is in high demand and frequently fills up. I've never been here before but I know it's a fairly popular place so I was quick to agree to the location. We originally sat at the bar but the stools were so incredibly uncomfortable, so we moved to a booth. While our server was nice, it did take her quite a while to come take our drink order. I got a "lavendar breeze" for my first drink and it was delicious. The menu is small, with the focus being on grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm not a huge grilled cheese lover, so I ordered a wedge salad (with house white French dressing) and the sauerkraut balls from the appetizer menu. The salad was on par with what you'd expect, the dressing was tasty. The sauerkraut balls, though, kind of threw me. First, it's a HUGE serving. There was around 30-40 sauerkraut balls in the basket; way more than I ever imagined would be in an order. I was expecting four or five golf ball sized balls. Maybe I've been spoiled by having some fantastic sauerkraut balls, but these were subpar, at best. They didn't have a lot of flavor and the cocktail sauce they served with them was an odd choice. While I still enjoyed time catching up with a friend and the drinks were well done, I doubt I'll come back for food. The menu just wasn't appealing to me and what I did have wasnt good enough to lure me back anytime soon.

I asked what kind of bourbon they had and was read a list of alcohol that wasn't bourbon. I finally just asked for a Woodford and ginger ale. My friend asked for a Jameson straight up. She got ice and I received a drink in a cup without ice (straight up). My drink tasted strange, so I thought maybe it was just warm or the type of ginger ale they used. Couldn't find our waitress anywhere so I walked up to the bar to get a cup of ice. When I poured my drink into the plastic cup with ice, I saw the culprit. SUDS. I was given a glass that had soap not rinsed out. I thought the original 'foam' was the soda but then realized the ginger ale was FLAT and the suds were soap. Waitress finally came back and I ordered a beer instead and sent it back. Then we ordered some appetizer which was less than stellar. Sorry kids but we won't be back.
