I can say the injury was not only the source of intense pain for me but also taught me to be patient as well as serving up a healthy dose of humility! The therapists that worked with me provided not only the health and physical support I needed but also counselled/advised me with long term exercises that will assist me for the years to come. I regained 80% of mobility and most of my strength back in my dominant shoulder/arm when the initial assessment was hopeful for a 50% return in mobility. I will forever be grateful for the therapists who helped me recover and am now able to lead a life with very few limitations! My experience with Ortho Virginia was very positive.

Tyler has helped me after injuries and surgeries before. For me, the choice was easy. Go somewhere I trusted. See someone I trusted. See someone who knew me. Be in a place where I can feel confident in the care and guidance I receive and truly feel 'seen' as a patient. More than ever before I'm willing to put in the work. More than ever I have to 100% recover from this. It's my hand. It's how I work. It's how I ride and listen to my animals. It's how I type a pub out each month, and so much more. It's the hand I hold my husband's in But Tyler also knows me well enough to know I'm impatient and eager to heal. And he's smart enough to call me out on that. But today. My god... Today Tyler told me he felt I had a really good prognosis. He told me I have a really good chance of healing safely, fully, and recuperating my left and right side (overuse after injury to left). I'm going to come back ready to work, and lift weights, and thrive! 6 days post op my physical therapist made me feel good about the future, something I've been waiting 20 days for. I found Balance Wellspace Integrative Medicine, which advertised that it helped with these issues. After reading the reviews and researching the company, I scheduled a preliminary consultation to see if they could help me with my problems. I told them that I had been struggling with this for over five years and explained that traditional medicine offered no answers. The team at the center conducted an evaluation and provided me with an 8-week plan consisting of three sessions per week. While there was no guarantee that their treatments would help, they led me to believe that they had treated others with similar conditions. They cited cases in which other patients had resumed an active life and engaged in activities such as playing golf. After faithfully attending each session, I noticed no change in my symptoms or function, which was a clear sign that the treatments were ineffective. I believe that they should have known, following their initial evaluation, that they wouldn't be able to do anything with their treatments that would actually work for me. I invested a great deal of time and money in what appears to be an empty promise. While I know there was no guarantee, I want to warn others before they put time and money into an empty promise.

There has also been little to no explanation of what is going on, even when asked. We have been given very vague answers. They were a little bit quicker to communicate with us in the beginning when wanting to set up testing AKA get our money. Still has yet to provide an explanation of test results after multiple messages asking (all appears to be fine from what we see on the portal - guess since they can't get more appointments and money we no longer matter). Current doc does not appear to have reviewed past medical records and took them into account when recommending a bone marrow biopsy. Disappointed that the nurse was congratulating the doctor for performing 2 biopsies in one day. Beginning to feel like my husband was put through unneeded testing to meet some twisted quota. Would not recommend them, but unfortunately not too many options in the area. See less Shared post

I am a 55 y.o. female military veteran who has a lot of pain and discomfort from multiple surgeries…read moreon my left ankle and repairs to my right knee. As I have gotten older and dealt with other health issues, I have also gained weight and struggled with Fibromyalgia and Muscle pain. So, as a result, my feet and ankles really hurt and impacts my whole body. This pain only adds to my issues and struggles with movement. I am also someone who has worked extensively in the medical field and I have previously been fitted for orthotics and shoes at another local provider. This time the VA sent me to Roanoke Orthotic Center(ROC). From the moment I spoke with Ginger, the receptionist, and met with Mr.Spice, I knew this experience would be different. As soon as they received my referral, the office reached out and I got an appointment right away. The office environment was very tastefully decorated and comfortable and Ginger offered a warm and welcoming greeting which immediately put me at ease. Mr. Spice was very nice, knowledgeable, and professional. Being a disabled veteran who was motivated to learn about orthotic care as a result of his own personal injuries and experiences, truly motivates him to provide his customers, especially fellow Veterans, with outstanding medical service. His passion for what he does and for what his practice stands for shows through the communication, thoroughness, and attention to details. He really took the time to understand and discuss with me what my needs were and to listen to my movement goals. He also answered all my question. To my surprise unlike the other practices I have been to, I was given shoe options. Mr. Spicer went beyond presenting me a choice of a limited, "standard stock shoe ". He actually searched and showed me high quality shoes online that he could order to fulfill my specific orthotic needs. Talk about personalized customer service! I was thrilled! I truly did not expect this level of care. The experience I have had with this practice has been phenomenal! The turn around time is quick and the service is top-notch. I now have the work shoes and custom orthotics that I needed to accomplish my movement goals and to get my work done. My feet have never felt better. I highly recommend Roanoke Orthotics Center to anyone, especially Veterans needing orthotic care. You should "insist" that this is where you want to be seen. They are serious about giving quality patient care and it shows. When they say,"Customer Care First", they mean it!

Surgery was in May. I called office and the nurse told me that it wouldn't have anything to do with my surgery and I would need to go to urgent care. I asked is it dangerous and she stated well I can't tell you that only urgent care can inform you . So I asked again so this wouldn't be a follow up to my surgery because I have had problems since I had it done and she states no. The office has screwed up 3 appointments of mine as well. I showed up for an appointment and first they say or you have no appointment today and I said yes today is pre- op appointment and the front desk tells me well Dr. Farmer is off today so you can see PA. I should of realized then not to go forward with surgery . Even though my knee was killing me and I had a torn meniscus (which wasn't fixed during surgery , PA stated they didn't need to as it wasn't in the way with my knee), my knee cracks, grinds and pops when I try to bend it and I can't get past 50 degrees. The office won't assist you in getting an appointment and urgent care isn't that great either . First time I went to there I was told nothing was wrong with my knee. Even though my knee popped very loud and I dropped to the ground . I'm very disappointed over this whole ordeal. Depressed is a under statement .. don't go to this office . Dr Farmer did a manipulation and knee works wonderful . I informed Dr Farmer of all my concerns and he addressed all of them and everything was fixed !! Thank you Dr Farmer.
