We decided on the Green Room because we had not been there in a long time. We were very happy with the menu selections of appetizers, sandwiches and salads. They have an impressive wine and beer selection, sodas and water too. Their outside setup is very nice with tents for shade, comfortable plastic chairs with cup holders and fake grass a little ambience. The service was a little slow at first but then were very attentive and helpful. The inside is immaculate and the bathroom was very clean (always a plus and positive sign). We got the chips and onion dip to start which were yummy! Then we got a Turkey sandwich and a club sandwich. Both were delicious and stuffed full, we could only eat half. We got a coke and a Veil Brewing Co. IPA to drink. The Veil is one of the best brewing companies on the East Coast and not easy to find outside of Richmond, VA. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience here!! Great job!!

And then, not only do they have beers, but also high quality sodas, like San Pellegrino. What's not to like?

But a customer inside kindly came out and said they were leaving, offering us their inside table. (There's also the beer garden outside in the back for seating, which looks like it would be nice and comfortable.) I got an everything bagel with hummus and tomato. My partner got everything bagel, scallion cream cheese, tomato ($0.85 for tomato) and lox ($6 for the lox). Although everything tasted good, we both noticed that the bagels were really, really dense, tough and chewy. Like uncomfortably tough and chewy. My partner left one half of their bagel uneaten and I didn't finish mine. It looked great and the hummus and cream cheese and other toppings were fine, but the bagel was really, really tough. I'd like to believe that it isn't because the bagels were stale, but the thought crossed my mind. The coffee I had (dark brew) was outstanding, served in a nice, large mug. Excellent! Service was efficient. I considered a four-star review because the coffee was outstanding, but the bagels were really disappointing. It's too bad. It looks like a cool place, but their main food item appears to be bagels. Maybe it was a one-off, but I spent over $26 for two bagels and one coffee, and I don't plan to come back to find out.

Finally, our drinks were taken by the bar tender and before we could get them we were seated. The drinks were never put in or she just flat ignored us. (We both saw her write the order down.) Our server finally had to re order them, we had now been there 22 minutes with no cocktails. Absurd. Anyway, our server Jerrod was great but everything else was subpar. I've made better scallops in my sleep and the presentation was an absolute train wreck, looked like it had been thrown on the floor and then scooped back up. The charcuterie plate was decent and the locally sourced cheeses were great, especially that Brie. But this place is overrated, at best. I can't recommend it for the price. Pretentious, overpriced and quite boring, not to mention unprofessional.

There are so many options in this lovely town but I made a reservation at Zynodoa because I have been on a farm-to-table kick lately. The servers and hosts were all lovely, interacting with both the guests and each other professionally and amicably. My server Sarah gave me as much attention as anyone else, even though I was the only person dining alone. I ordered the tomato and burrata appetizer. I am not a big raw tomato eater but I knew if these were truly farm-to-table, they would taste good, and they did. The flavor felt like a combination of sunshine and a warm hug! The cheese tasted like a sweet kiss. The portion was substantial, and there was balsamic reduction and a generous amount of coarse pesto. I ate the whole thing! For the main course I ordered the flat iron steak. Because I was traveling and didn't want leftovers, I asked the server for a smaller portion than listed, but either I wasn't clear or it wasn't an option--It's okay, though. I ordered the steak medium rare but it was a shade above rare; again, okay. Sides were good but I added salt. The meal was a bit pricey but probably fair given that it was sourced locally. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the chef is heavy handed on the sauces, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. Oh, I ordered the pinot noir and it was good, smooth, balanced. Overall impression of Zynodoa was it felt like visiting the home of a friend with a garden who loves to cook and share with her friends. The portions were generous and the seasoning was substantial. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Staunton.

Pizza Luca has been a shining star in Staunton's food scene. Their pizzas are incredible. I've only ordered take-out, but they're always hopping when I show up, and they're always happy to help. The pizza was absolutely delicious--easily the best we've had while we've been here. But whatever you do... DO NOT leave without ordering the cheesy bread! It is hands-down some of the best we've ever had and is an absolute must-try. What really set this place apart, though, was the incredible customer service. From the manager, Heidi, to our server, Christine, and every single employee we interacted with, everyone was genuinely kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Unfortunately, that level of hospitality has been surprisingly hard to find in the area, so walking into Pizza Luca was such a refreshing experience. They made us feel like valued guests from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Fantastic food, outstanding service, and a team that truly cares about their customers. We will absolutely be back the next time we're in town. One more thing worth mentioning... this place is incredibly kid-friendly! While they don't have a dedicated kids' menu, there are plenty of options that kids will love, like pizza and spaghetti. But what really won our boys over was the sweet surprise at the end of the meal--they each got an adorable little rubber ducky to take home! Such a simple gesture, but it absolutely made their day. It's those little touches that show how much they genuinely care about their guests. Highly recommend!!
