However, the women working here greeted me and patiently helped me find two beautiful outfits - one sari and one churidar. Although they were still more expensive than what you'll pay in India, the shop owners were willing to work with my budget, especially since I was purchasing two and came in during a holiday sale. She also let me choose a pair of earrings for free. All in all, a great experience and friendly service. They were all really attentive and asked me what I was looking for once I came up the steps. The girl took me to the back section where she pulled out several (5-8) sets. I apologized for my size (42-44) knowing that this would make her job more difficult. She said there was no need to do so and took out the different colors in my size. I asked for the price and she said $400 (yikes!). I knew I had to haggle, this is an Indian store after all. I told her I'd come back the next day after going to some other stores. She asked me what I was comfortable paying. I took a chance and said $100 because that's about the price I had seen on websites online like indusdiva.com and utsavfashion.com. She said that that wasn't possible and she could give me possibly for $200. I came back the next day after looking at some stores (one of which showed me stuff that Madhuri Dixit wore in the early 90s and for $200+ Really?) This time one of the guys showed me the outfits. He opened it up and held it against himself and on me. I haggled with him a bit and got it for $170! ALL PROS! 1. Good customer service: humble, sweet, and generally nice people 2. Store was clean 3. SO many options. Variety! 4. There were Caucasian people in the store and they were being treated just as nicely as I, a native Indian, was 5. They have saris for the general population, salwar suits like the Punjabis prefer, Lehengas for the brides, and chaniya cholis for the Gujaratis! 6. They take credit cards 7. I would definitely recommend buying from this store because the stuff here is absolutely stunning and I've bought from here multiple times (the earrings especially always make my Eid outfits look spectacular). Also, there is a downstairs addition where you can find more South Asian dresses and prayer mats. Once you buy your jewelry and clothes, you can move outside to peruse more bangle bracelets, casual South Asian attire, hijabs, and even toys if you want to gift your kids or family/friends' kids something that'll make their eyes light up. Although, the reason why I gave this store 4 stars out of 5 is that the interior has an extremely narrow hallway. If it's a busy day (like a few days before Eid), you're most likely going to bump into a bunch of people or get stuck in a rotation. There was one time another customer entered the store with a STROLLER and it took up the entire aisle! I definitely suggest not bringing strollers or luggage inside, unless you want to get squished and accidentally make the jewelry fall off the racks (speaking from experience ).
