Got off the airplane, right before I walked to baggage claim, a sign with my name. Drive to hotel is like 1 hour so it doesn't matter too much if they drop other people off first. On the way back, booked online again, even have someone there if I call up to check the status of the shuttle. Also noticed that pilots were taking this shuttle, so they must know what they're doing. Price was it also seemed to be the best read more

This is the worst transportation company on the island. I booked a private transfer for my family of 5 a month in advance, and when we landed in Maui they were nowhere to be found. 30 mins later when we finally got in contact with them, they said sorry we don't have any vans and you'll have to call back tomorrow for a refund. Absolutely ridiculous. It's now 11 PM local time and I'm left scrambling to find an uber. This company is super shady. Do not book here! read more

Best decision ever! My sister & I booked with VIP for the first time last week & they were awesome! Upon arrival we were a little confused where to go for pickup so we gave VIP a call & the lady on the phone was very kind & told us exactly where to go. As we waited for our van, one of the other VIP drivers waited with us to ensure we made it onto our van and were taken care of which was very kind! Our driver, I believe his name was Broxton, was the best! He had us laughing the whole time, was very professional, and he made us feel safe. We even requested him for our ride back that's how awesome he was! Highly recommend this company! Mahalo VIP Transport! read more

Uber. The airlines are obviously their bread and butter. When we arrived I was told we were waiting for another group of 3. That group arrived and we waited almost 2 hours for a van. While waiting at least 5 of their vans arrived and were promptly loaded with pilots and flight attendants who were whisked away to their hotels. For the amount of money we prepaid, a prescheduled Uber is the definite way to go. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! I have never in my life been spoken to the way the employees of this company have Both on the phone and in person and it's not just one "bad apple" Rotten to the core, always late, completely unreliable What a completely awful first taste when arriving on such a beautiful island SHAME on all of you read more

Absolute horrible company. Far from stress free. They lied and said that some guy was there with a blue shirt. Lies. Lies. Lies! Super rude people on the phone do not talk to my family like that! read more

We arrived on Maui more than 40 mins ago and are still waiting on our shuttle. I understand that there may be delays due to covid, but that should be noted during the reservations and the promise of someone "waiting for us with a sign" should not be made. We paid for a service that simply wasn't provided. What a shame. read more

We have used this company for years! Always friendly, great service but since Covid they have fallen apart! We have been waiting for an hour and have got no answers from the company as to why.... Just rude airport personnel . They refused to answer questions! Unbelievable!! So sad to see a hood company go so wrong!! read more

Landed in Maui an hour ago. Prepaid for VIP Shuttle to the hotel but they can't locate our reservation. No reference or reservation number was given and the young lady in the airport is completely unhelpful. I didn't fly to Maui to spend my vacation in the airport. Travel agency confirmed the vendor but still nothing. DON'T USE THEM! read more

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. We paid for airport transfer for our 6:00 am flight (3:30 am pickup time). We received a confirmation number and our account was charged. We were outside at 3:30, but at 3:50 we had to call a cab. I finally was able to get ahold of someone at the company at 3:55, and he had obviously just woken up. He wasn't able to find my booking, even though I had given him a confirmation. His recommendation was that I find other arrangements and call back when I could speak to his manager. Here's hoping that we get a refund! Do NOT book here, pay the extra money to go with another company on the island!! read more

We sat at the airport for 2 hours and they kept saying a bus was coming. Then they told us there was an accident. Meanwhile 4 buses came to get the pilots. I requested a refund and they said I hope we can do that. Do not use this company. Take an Uber. AWFUL read more

Thank you for your awesome service! We've used you numerous times and are always pleased with your professionalism and great staff! We highly recommend! read more

This is the only shuttle company I use when I came to Hawaii. They are the best! As soon as I'am off the plane there is always someone waiting with a sign with our name on it. A great beginning to a wonderful vacation. They are always on time and pleasure to talk to. Thank you read more

We canceled the shuttle through Expedia app but apparently didn't go through. VIP trans called us and we told them it was canceled and they said ok. We never used their service. When we realized we weren't refunded, we called Expedia and they called vip trans to get a refund waiver, vip trans refused. Kinda lame in my opinion. read more

I had to call to ask what time we would be picked up after reserving online. Despite the reservation and confirmation, they showed up 45 (!!!!!) minutes late!!!!!! Not a single phone call to let us know about the [unacceptable] delay. When I first called they couldn't find my reservation. I had to call multiple times as they kept saying the driver was "5 minutes away". Every time. They were not apologetic about the delay at all. When the driver finally showed up I asked if he was there to pick me up and he said he had no idea who he was supposed to pick up!!!! Seriously?! That he was only told about this ride 20 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time and had to turn around from his way to the airport. Nobody needs this kind of stress returning from vacation. Take your $70 elsewhere. read more

Horrible company. Tried calling company to cancel my reservation. When I called, no one picked up so I left a message. After waiting for 2 hours I still have not heard from them, so I called him back. This time someone picked up. They were giving me a hard time telling me I never called...I said I called because that is exactly what I did. The lady on the other line said she was in her car and she didn't hear the phone. That is not my problem. Worst company ever. Horrible company. Don't book with this company because they have the worst customer service. read more

Where do I begin.... this was supposed to just be an affordable way to get us to the hotel but it turned out to be so much more! To begin with our flight was delayed, but they were still there waiting for us. He knew our name & kindly welcomed us. He gave us great advice about the island and made us feel confident about how easy it can be to go around the island. He generously offered to stop at a Safeway to let us get some groceries since we were his last stop & we were alone in the van. Before dropping us off, my husband inquired as to where he could buy some unique Maui t-shirts and tank tops. He told us of some great spots and mentioned he would try and get us some custom shirts from a friend of his. As he dropped us off he said he would try to be the one to pick us up and hopefully he'd have some shirts. As our last day came we were excited to see him. Unfortunately he wasn't there so at first we thought he just forgot about us, but to our surprise he left a gift bag for us with a different driver. He got us a sweet card and congratulated us on our honeymoon and marriage. Like he promised, he got me a nice v-neck shirt and my husband an awesome Maui Tank-top and hat! It turns out the night we met him was his birthday and he was such a great sport, especially since we arrived late and must have delayed any plans for him that night. He was so sweet & went that extra mile for us. Like I said, it was just supposed to be an affordable ride to our hotel, but it turned out to be a very memorable experience for my husband and I. Jordan you are part of our ohana now, mahalo for making our trip to Maui so special. read more

Vip Trans - Travel Services Near Me - Kahului, Hawaii

I would never, under any circumstances, use this service again. The driver was completely incompetent and the dispatcher was no help at all. First, the driver was 30 minutes late to pick us up for the airport, and then delayed us by another 30 minutes to take last minute passengers in the opposite direction. To make up for lost time, she tailgated other cars all the way to Kahului, and then dropped us off at the wrong part of the terminal so that we had a very long walk to our carrier's counter -- and she could see that I walked with a cane. By the time we cleared security and got to our gate, our plane had almost finished boarding. On the whole, it was a stressful and very unpleasant way to end our wonderful time on Maui. Never Again. read more

So far I have had the best experience with this company. Out of 3 families we missed our flight. We originally requested a private shuttle (best prices on the island btw) for all of us. My family obviously missed it. They accommodated us with another shuttle when we finally flew in hours later. Didn't charge us again and the greeter kept in touch with me the whole time which made me feel good/comfortable, esp after such a bad day. They even had our baby car seats with the new shuttle. Pretty sure when we head back on our last day with them it will go smooth as well. read more

I shoulda check Yelp reviews FIRST before using VIP, what a crappy company-total BS. Here's the short-I made a reservation, was told they'd call back w confirmation-they didn't. Morning of my flight before leaving LA, I called them-got my confirmation/pickup location, and he tells me to look for driver at baggage claim w sign w my name-and I gave them out updated ETA which was earlier than scheduled. As soon as I land, I call company (I have no luggage, so I'll be curbside in minutes)-operator tells me "he's in traffic by the Kmart (about 5 mins max from airport), he 'll be right there". No one waiting w/ sign, I go to curb location, no van, wait 10 minutes-then call. "He'll be right there, van 45". It shows up 2mins later, I get in-but then 2 pilots (who were the last off my plane, as my pilots) show up-it's their van going total opposite side of island. Yup...I'm off, they're on. I'm waiting again ("they'll have one over any minute" per driver of old junk van-by the way, not anything like website picture). I'm skeptical at best now, and I know I've been had. I wait another 15mins, call, and he tells me "it's stuck in traffic". I call BS, but don't let him know-till I confirm w driver. SUPER cool driver does show 5min later (hence at least 1 star)-I ask him "stuck in traffic"-nope, " I just get to work, didn't even get to do checks-they tell me hurry, get to airport we have a guy waiting". I'm not even in a hurry, I could wait all day-just don't lie to customers-make things right. Dishonest business, don't use. Driver was cool and he deserved the tip, company doesn't deserve your dime. Mahalo! read more

This company has a long way to go to be a legit transportation company and their customer service is horrible. I had to call 7 times to book a reservation and was emailed the incorrect pick up time and location several times. When I called the man on the phone said, "Oh ya we know that's a problem, we'll be a the right place." When I suggested that maybe they fix the known problem, he just laughed. The driver was really distracted, but the customer service on the phone was the worst part. I think I'll be using Speedi again - they are a bit more expensive, but much easier and much more reliable. read more

I'm writing this review, as I hung up with a representative on their staff 2 minutes ago. She said she couldn't hear me and immediately hung up the phone without saying another word. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. As someone who is also in the realm of customer service, first impressions are everything, and my first impression is I would NEVER give my business to them. read more

I observed their drivers recklessly cutting people off in traffic. I've emailed the company the license plate and van number the day I saw this happen, but I have not received a response. I'd avoid this company and consider an Uber or Lyft to be safe. read more

Absolutely the worst company ever. I travel frequently and arrange travel for large groups and VIP Trans in Maui provided us with the worst service ever. 12 of us were left stranded at the Sheraton, complete with luggage and golf bags. After repeated calls, the dispatcher, a female, showed no empathy. A shuttle bus from Mahalo Tours dropped off a group and shuttled us back to the airport. read more

Terrible vans. Ac doesn't work. Sweating in Van 45 right now. They neglect maintenance

I reserved a round trip online for their shuttle between the airport and my rented condo. There is a 2-person minimum but even for one person that's not a bad price. I paid $54 RT including tax, which seemed like a great deal for a 45-minute drive each way. Everything went well. As it turned out, I didn't have to share with anyone. They might not even use sharing. Both drivers were very pleasant. I would definitely use them if I'm ever back in Maui. I think they do charters and tours, too (like the trip to Hana). read more

Horrendous experience,-Totally unreliable,My husband and I booked a ride to the airport in Maui from the Ferry on January 1, 2013. The ride was supposed to take us from the ferry boat dock in Lahaina at 7:30 PM-and lo and behold-no limo. No one answered the phone when we called to tell them we were stranded. Fortunately, the kind workers at the Pioneer restaurant across from the ferry helped us and called us a cab. We were so lucky because we as a result of VIP Trans not showing up we were running late and just made it. To top it all off, two weeks after we were home in Ohio, a driver from VIP trans limo called our cell to tell us he was at the ferry waiting for us. Helloooo..never again. read more

oh how i wish we had seen these reviews before booking with VIP trans. the information on the website is misleading. they say they will wait for you inside and they dont. our plane arrived 30min in advance an they didnt even check the timing so we had to wait 45 min for them to come. they waited on booth 2. the driver didnt even help us with our luggage. he was rude. we had a day trip a few days later and they were supposed to pick us up. they never showed up. they said they did but they didnt. they said they would compensate the trip but they were liars. trust me dont book them worst service ever. ull regret it read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I made a "reservation" for VIP to pick up my wife at son at the airport and take them to their hotel. When making the reservation I specifically asked if we needed to call them when we got there. No, they said, we will be at "Pole 2" at the designated time. Were they there? No. They did call me around the designated time and ask if we were there and ready (I guess that's enough for 1/2 star). They said they would be there in less than 5 minutes. In the mean time, a van showed up, but took another group and would not take my wife and son. They said they would send another. 45 minutes later the other one showed up. They drove to a hotel, but my wife said "I think this is the wrong one". The driver said "No, this is it" and left. You guessed it - not the right one. The right one was 3 miles away. We called them again and they sent another van to take them to the correct hotel (the other 1/2 star, I suppose). Later, after getting this whole story from my wife, I called VIP to tell them we were not happy with our experience - the guy's response, "OK". Then he started offering excuses "we didn't have the flight information" (they didn't ask for flight information). I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea. I realize that our experience probably isn't normal, but, I think, the lack of customer service after such an experience makes this company a "do not deal with" company. read more

We pre-paid a round trip ticket from a Honolulu hotel to Pearl Harbor and back. We confirmed with the driver that day the pickup up times. (pickups are only 2:30 and 4:30). Called at 3:30 to main desk to confirm again and was told the shuttle was on the way. Called at 5pm (after sitting in the hot Hawaii sun with 2 children) and told they were no longer supporting round trip bookings and would not honor it. We had to pay a taxi $45 to drive us to our hotel. Person on phone agreed to give us a full refund and we have heard and seen no payment. I would never use a service like this again. There are other good companies. read more

We used this service from the airport in Maui to Lahaina and back again 2 weeks later. Both transfers were trouble free. In fact the girl taking us back to the airport was early & even though there was a traffic jam caused by road works we arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare. The drivers were pleasant & informative. Would use this service again. read more

Poor service and poor communication. They were not at the airport to collect us as was promised and then had to wait until another flight arrived and someone else was collected. No excuse was given when I phoned and no indication of how long we would need to wait was given. A person at the airport who I tracked down did not have us on her list, the driver was uncommunicative and even when we did make it to a shuttle, I was sceptical about being delivered to the right destination. Two follow up emails received no reply. read more

VIP transportation in Hawaii is the worst company ever!! They still own me money for a cancellation that I have made 3 and a half months ago. CAUTION: DRIVER CRASHED VAN!!! We were picked up from the Maui airport and on the way to our hotel, the driver rear ended the car in front of us. The impact was hard and the damage was substantial. We were left stranded on the side of the road as the van we were in was damaged so badly it was not driveable. Oddly enough, we had to get a ride to our hotel from the father of the girl our driver hit! The worst part was our 18 month old daughter was in the car with us. I had to take her to the doctor in Maui as a precaution and pay out of my own pocket. Her carseat (which cost $250) was no longer usable since car seats cannot be used after a car accident. We are out over $500 in damages, and the company refuses to return our calls. At the time we did not think to ask the driver for his insurance, and the company refuses to give it to us. I have made a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will look at contacting a lawyer, although we are in Canada, so not sure how that will work internationally. The most important thing is my baby and everyone else is OK. But what a horrible, horrible company. Believe it or not, they actually had the nerve to charge our credit card and will not provide a refund. Please stay safe and stay away from VIP Trans. read more

Terrible experience! They were an hour late picking us up from the airport. After a long day of travel, we were so anxious to get to our final destination. The driver wasn't even apologetic about being so late, and the person meeting our flight had no information and didn't really seem to care that we were waiting an hour past our scheduled pick up. We booked a round trip and hoped the pick up for the airport would be better. Well, it wasn't! They were an hour early for pick up. We told them we couldn't possibly be ready to go that early. They told us they left early because it was busy at the airport and traffic was a nightmare. They wouldn't wait for us to get ready at our reserved time of 5:45. We had to call a cab. When the cab picked us up at 5:30, there was NO traffic. And, when we got to the airport, there were no lines for check in or TSA. So, basically, they made the whole thing up. I am irritated that I paid for round trip, and then had to pay a cab to take us to the airport after all. So, I paid 2x for my shuttle. Save yourself the headache and either take a cab, or use Speedi Shuttle. They are so much better. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Horrible customer service. We had our 11p red eye flight from maui cancelled, and this is the shuttle service that delta called for the almost 200 passengers, many of whom were elderly, & a whole fleet pulled up shortly after most of us got out with our luggage around 1a, but then nothing happened for the next two hours!! The vans were just sitting there empty, while the single delta employee tried to communicate, poorly, with VIP trans manager OVER THE PHONE as to which particular van would drive to each hotel (which all the vans were the same) while the drivers stood within earshot of the tired frustrated passengers, HIGH-FIVING each other (no joke!) & laughing about how much overtime they'll get paid from delta....this dragged on for two more hours until an upper management delta personnel showed up & barked them into order. Also, one of the drivers had to be replaced due to suspected substance use....yikes. Our driver then proceeded to drive 80mph minimum in the dark. I CANNOT believe this is a legit company. I just can't. read more
