I've been coming here since before they were bought out. The interior of the store has changed a bit over the years but nothing too dramatic. The prices are fair enough for most things if not competitive. The store is located on a very busy main road, Which can be a bit of pain to get out of. Getting into it, however, is easy enough. Calling them can be a pain as the number on almost all their websites number goes to their tire service department, not to their main desk. Which is something I would think they would fix. Because it must be an Aggravation for customers and employees alike. Aside from that, the employees are knowledgeable kind and very helpful. I have not bought tires here since they were bought out. However, others have and they say that the deals are good. So budget shopping is an option. A bit of a tight parking lot however it's never super busy so that should not be a problem. Give them a call and see if they can help and answer any of your questions. read more

VIP Tires & Service - Store front - Tires Near Me - Windham, Maine

I called for an appointment & had one for first thing Monday morning. I needed my winter tire change over, oil change & possible wheel alignment. In just over an hour they delivered my vehicle, & told me I didn't need an alignment. Win! My vehicle requires additional oil to fill, and it was included in the quote, which was a better deal than at dealership or oil change shops. They have a Keurig system in the lobby, so the coffee is fresh & hot. I noticed they have a kid's play area, too. Kudos for the forethought & effort. Hey Vets, don't forget VIP offers you an automatic 10% for your service. Also, they support the Make-a-Wish program, matching your donations dollar for dollar! Everyone wins! read more

VIP Tires & Service - My Santa Cruz making its way across the U.S.! - Tires Near Me - Windham, Maine

The Windham location had a mechanic very experienced in my vehicle type, which was a relief. I appreciated the expedited work as I was from out of town and late going home. Tad overpriced but I was glad to pay it for the swift repair! Customer service is okay on the phone, but in person makes the customer feel like a nuisance. Too bad, given the overall other great service from the mechanic. Had a terrible experience at the Topsham location in another review. I would seek automotive repairs at a different franchise. read more

I knew my ac wasn't working, a re charge wasn't needed. I asked for them to check the refrigerant level. They recharged the ac and said it still wasn't working. No kidding. I knew that wasn't the problem. Then they asked if I wanted it diagnosed. After sitting here for almost two hours.9 read more

VIP Tires & Service - Michelin Cross Climate 2 - Tires Near Me - Windham, Maine

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY FAKE REVIEWS!!! TAKE THE TIME TO SCROLL THROUGH If you're looking for quality service, empathy, or even the most basic level of professionalism, VIP is absolutely the wrong place to turn. As an out-of-town customer in urgent need of a blown out tire, I was not only let down--I was left feeling stranded, powerless, and basically held captive to shady "policies" I had a single blown out tire on my AWD vehicle, I was out of town visiting family. I simply needed a temporary fix to make this all right. Instead I got a long haired, inexperienced employee that was obviously looking for a payday once he saw the out of state plates. He said that it was company policy to only replace ALL 4 tires and that NO OTHER OPTION was available. I explained I just needed a simple temporary fix or one tire, just to get me right down the road. He went back inside after I said no way! No one offered guidance, advice, or even the courtesy of clear communication. No effort was made to explain alternatives, troubleshoot, or provide any sort of support. I was effectively held hostage by a team of unskilled workers who seemed to know just enough to upsell, but not enough to actually solve a problem. It's infuriating to experience a company so blatantly out of touch with the core principle of customer service: the customer should always come first. Your business name reflects the customer, (VERY IMPORTANT PERSON) not the employee. But based on my experience, you'd never know that. If you're reading this and still considering this company, ask yourself: do you want to deal with a business that sees you as a paycheck rather than a person? Because that's exactly what you'll get here. Even the other area businesses I stopped at after repairing the hole myself, that's right, it was that simple, thanks to O'Reilys next door having a tire plug kit for just over $10. I was able to make it back home on just that simple repair over 200 miles away!! How many others have they scammed and help hostage!? The AWD myth is not something that is a drivetrain destroyer when the customer knows this is a quick, TEMPORARY FIX! Do better training your employees, this review and word of mouth in the Maine area will be spread! Save yourself the time, stress, and disappointment. Take your business somewhere else--somewhere that still values integrity, expertise, and actual service. Like even Sullivan Tire across the street. They couldn't get my tire immediately, but they offered advice and ideas with a phone call UPDATE: I would highly recommend you read the company reply if you are still even considering taking a chance with this company. You will see absolutely no attempt at a sincere apology about attempting to hold us hostage is buying tires from them. Rather, they gaslight the situation in a very ChatGPT canned response that made it so much worse. To be clear, no QUALIFIED mechanic on duty EVER came out to my vehicle! They even sign off with wanting ME to reach out to them with any questions. Poor customer service and even worse employee training from the front desk to the online response. Buyer beware!!!!! Better Business Bureau is aware of them as well https://www.bbb.org/us/me/auburn/profile/tire-dealers/vip-tires-service-0021-11981/customer-reviews read more

Incredibly helpful and friendly, they value their customers and employees. I had my tire fixed pretty quickly. If not told they could easily miss a problem though. Suggestion: ENSURE that ALL brakes are checked if you're doing a multipoint inspection. Overall good experience. read more

This VIP shop treated me terribly, I was recently on vacation in Maine and Nissan broke down. VIP did not diagnose and repair my vehicle in the time committed originally. They also charged for 6.5 hours labor when they only needed 4.5 hours to complete job. Apparently, VIP invoices labor according to the "book" . The same job could have have been done in my local RI shop in 2 hours. VIP will price gouge if they have a chance. DON'T TRUST VIP !! read more

We brought our truck in on a Sunday at 9am for the appointment for 5 to 6 hrs they kept it overnight and we were told when we called thrm monday at 10:30am it would be ready at 1pm we got there at 1 pm it was still on the lift we were told another hour. Than they wanted us to drive to Westbrook for the alignment we had scheduled originally finally they did it we got the truck back at 2pm got home looked it over and they left clamps hanging on the struts so we need to go back. When we asked what time they open we said we would be there the person on the other said roger that. Needless to say 1 star is to high of a rating for the windham location. We will never go back to that location again read more

Jacob Smith just saved my holiday weekend by fitting me in once I got got a nail in my tire.

I've brought a variety of vehicles here over the past 10+ yrs for tires, inspection, bearings, brakes, etc. We've always gotten great service and fair prices. Call ahead for an appointment - the good places are always busy! read more

I had my sedan worked on, and they had integrity. There were a lot of things that it needed, and they nailed it. They fixed the things that needed to be done, didn't try to upsell me on things I didn't, and at a rate that was great for what I needed done. I was so happy that I brought my stretch limousine in to be worked on immediately. They diagnosed it with a weak clamp. I knew this to be true, but I didn't think that was all it was. I am not sure they even charged me for that. They installed the windshield washer fluid container that the people down the street kept putting off for weeks, and with them it was easy fast and respectful. Thank you guys. I feel like my faith in auto repair places is renewed. I haven't left a repair shop happy with the service since Reagan was in office. read more

Went in to get an alignment after buying 4 new tires 6 months ago (June 2018). I don't normally go to VIP. I normally go to a family run business closer to home, but I was in the area for a few days and VIP was able to get me in for an appointment faster. Yesterday I got a flat tire and went to get a new one at Walmart. The techs at Walmart said my other front tire was practically bald and that it was because I needed an alignment. I called VIP to ask when I had my last alignment and they told me that they recommended getting an alignment every 6 months. That is complete BS and a scam. I'm not paying $80 every 6 months for an alignment. My regular mechanic recommends alignments every 2-3 years when you get new tires. I'm convinced that because of that 6 month recommendation, they messed up my alignment so I would be forced to get it done again sooner. I talked to my mechanic and he said there is no way that tires should wear that quickly in 6 months. VIP completely screwed me over and I think I should be reimbursed for the 2 new tires that I had to buy. read more

VIP in Windham has helped me on numerous occasions in the past as well as today. I am a retired LEO and a combat veteran. I usually did my own repairs in my youth and know my way around tools and a shop. There is never any question honoring warranty work and new work is reasonably quoted and performed as expected. Very happy with this location. read more

I had a very long, very rough day at work but couldn't ignore my "replace oil soon" light any longer. I went to VIP in Windham, where I had purchased a set of new tires some months earlier and I couldn't be happier about that choice! Staff members were all friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to be kind and engaging to my two children (who did NOT want to be there) and to me (who also would've preferred to just go home). That would've been enough, but they also honored a credit toward a free oil change from my long ago tire purchase that I only vaguely remember being offered. I can't say enough good things, and it totally turned my day around. We all left smiling, and we will definitely be back!! read more

Wanted my SUV to pull a small yard trailer. Ordered the parts and labor through them. 60 days and 6 scheduled appointments (of 1-2 hours each) later, and it's still done. I had been a regular customer until now. They haven't taken responsibility for this fiasco. Pretty embarrassingly incompetent. Someone has to win the prize of "Worst auto shop in Windham," and they do. read more

Unfortunately, in the past I had a bad experience at a VIP at another location but from now I am only going to the VIP in Windham when I need anything done on my car. Great customer service and Josh was great with helping me getting brand new tires when I desperately needed some. He also had them check out some issues I was having with a transmission leak and I came in a couple days later and go it all done as well as the alignment and a couple other things I needed. I also like that I have the warranty on the new tires too and can have a piece of mind with them. Highly suggest you go here, they will take great care of you! read more

Called to ask if I could get an alignment in an hour, the guy said yes that would work. I showed up at the store and asked the guy about the alignment and the guy asked me "what day this week" I replied with "I called about today" and he said "nobody called me about an alignment, and I've been the only person here all day" and just got kinda of snarky. I don't think he took his meds this morning. Not very happy. read more

I like these guys - A Lot. And here's why: I know NOTHING about cars.. I'm completely at the mercy of pretty much any auto shop. So when I bring my vehicle in because it idles hot.. I'm almost 100% certain that some mechanic I don't know is going to tell me "You need a brand new EVERYthing". But I didn't get that at VIP. What I got was .. "You're just a quart low on water.. we put some in and you're on your way." Wow. (I had even shown up WAY late for the inspection appointment .. they Still found a way to squeeze me in and get it done.) I had tires on my SUV replaced by them last summer (2018).. And this was my introduction to the level of service they provide.. a tire shop just a stone's throw north of Windham quoted nearly 200.00 More - for TWO tires. And this is why VIP gets ALL my business - because they Take Care of the Customer, and they do the right thing. You can't really ask for more than that. read more

Where to begin... I went in ordered snow tires for my car, scheduled my service for more than a week out. On the day of my scheduled service to have tires put on my car, I called to confirm my appointment time about 2 hours before. I showed up at my appointment time, and 10 minutes later some guy comes stumbling around the corner tells me he's 1.5 hours behind and asks for my info and then he proceeds to tell me they didn't even order my fucking tires with 9 inches of snow coming the next day. And I CALLED TO CONFIRM 2 HOURS BEFORE, NO ONE SAID A FUCKING WORD! Fuck this place and the fucking idiots they have working there. Save your time and some money and go to Paulins, ended up getting the same tires put on my car for 200 less, what a shitty scam this place is. read more

VIP in Windham has a great staff and the customer service is amazing. They are always willing to help out when they can.

Absolutely FANTASTIC service! I came in for a tire issue where my front driver side was not holding air (without a puncture). I would definitely come to VIP again and again for the knowledgeable staff and speedy services! THANKS! read more

Was in for a routine state inspection and received a call that not only did my car pass, but that I was overdue for routine maintenance recommended by the manufacturer. Each part of the maintenance was explained to me so that I fully understood why it was important. I was given multiple options on how to handle the various parts of the maintenance. I ultimately chose to do all of the recommended maintenance at once which was overall better for the car and I save a few dollars. The staff is amazing and they always do right by me (not common in the auto repair industry in my experience). Thanks again! Gretchen read more

Quick and courteous service. I would gladly return again in the future. Thank you VIP.

After using a garage down the road for years, I thought give VIP a try. I had purchased a new to me vehicle and the tires on it I learned were VIP house brand. After a good year on them under my ownership I was impressed. As driving a 4x4 you go places that make you wonder "Am I going to pop a tire?". I never did. They held up and never gave me a problem. Well they did finally wear out and I figured I would get the same tire again. The man who helped me was great--straight forward, didn't try to throw the other companies under the bus, or "hook" us, but gave clear information with which to make the decisions. I was impressed. read more

I, like some of the others on here, am sorely unhappy with this place. They are totally sexist- and no, not all places are- but they treat you like you don't know anything. They tried to tell me certain things were the law, but when you point out that you know they are lying, they alter their response. It's like talking to a politician. And yes, they do over charge. They don't have any prices listed anywhere, so you know that they probably alter the prices for everyone. They try to give you discounts if you come back to them (so they can overcharge you on other things). All in all, I would NOT recommend this place. I have had MUCH better service and treatment from across the street at Sullivan. The only reason I went here was because they were open on Sunday. Will not be making that mistake again. read more
