As an out-of-town customer in urgent need of a blown out tire, I was not only let down--I was left feeling stranded, powerless, and basically held captive to shady "policies" I had a single blown out tire on my AWD vehicle, I was out of town visiting family. I simply needed a temporary fix to make this all right. Instead I got a long haired, inexperienced employee that was obviously looking for a payday once he saw the out of state plates. He said that it was company policy to only replace ALL 4 tires and that NO OTHER OPTION was available. I explained I just needed a simple temporary fix or one tire, just to get me right down the road. He went back inside after I said no way! No one offered guidance, advice, or even the courtesy of clear communication. No effort was made to explain alternatives, troubleshoot, or provide any sort of support. I was effectively held hostage by a team of unskilled workers who seemed to know just enough to upsell, but not enough to actually solve a problem. It's infuriating to experience a company so blatantly out of touch with the core principle of customer service: the customer should always come first. Your business name reflects the customer, (VERY IMPORTANT PERSON) not the employee. But based on my experience, you'd never know that. If you're reading this and still considering this company, ask yourself: do you want to deal with a business that sees you as a paycheck rather than a person? This VIP shop treated me terribly, I was recently on vacation in Maine and Nissan broke down. VIP did not diagnose and repair my vehicle in the time committed originally. They also charged for 6.5 hours labor when they only needed 4.5 hours to complete job. Apparently, VIP invoices labor according to the "book" . We brought our truck in on a Sunday at 9am for the appointment for 5 to 6 hrs they kept it overnight and we were told when we called thrm monday at 10:30am it would be ready at 1pm we got there at 1 pm it was still on the lift we were told another hour. Than they wanted us to drive to Westbrook for the alignment we had scheduled originally finally they did it we got the truck back at 2pm got home looked it over and they left clamps hanging on the struts so we need to go back. When we asked what time they open we said we would be there the person on the other said roger that. Needless to say 1 star is to high of a rating for the windham location. I've been coming here since before they were bought out. The interior of the store has changed a bit over the years but nothing too dramatic. The prices are fair enough for most things if not competitive. The store is located on a very busy main road, Which can be a bit of pain to get out of. Getting into it, however, is easy enough. Calling them can be a pain as the number on almost all their websites number goes to their tire service department, not to their main desk. Which is something I would think they would fix. Because it must be an Aggravation for customers and employees alike. Aside from that, the employees are knowledgeable kind and very helpful. I have not bought tires here since they were bought out. However, others have and they say that the deals are good. So budget shopping is an option. A bit of a tight parking lot however it's never super busy so that should not be a problem. I had my sedan worked on, and they had integrity. There were a lot of things that it needed, and they nailed it. They fixed the things that needed to be done, didn't try to upsell me on things I didn't, and at a rate that was great for what I needed done. I was so happy that I brought my stretch limousine in to be worked on immediately. They diagnosed it with a weak clamp. I knew this to be true, but I didn't think that was all it was. I am not sure they even charged me for that. They installed the windshield washer fluid container that the people down the street kept putting off for weeks, and with them it was easy fast and respectful. Thank you guys. Went in to get an alignment after buying 4 new tires 6 months ago (June 2018). I don't normally go to VIP. I normally go to a family run business closer to home, but I was in the area for a few days and VIP was able to get me in for an appointment faster. Yesterday I got a flat tire and went to get a new one at Walmart. The techs at Walmart said my other front tire was practically bald and that it was because I needed an alignment. I called VIP to ask when I had my last alignment and they told me that they recommended getting an alignment every 6 months. That is complete BS and a scam. I'm not paying $80 every 6 months for an alignment. My regular mechanic recommends alignments every 2-3 years when you get new tires. I'm convinced that because of that 6 month recommendation, they messed up my alignment so I would be forced to get it done again sooner. I talked to my mechanic and he said there is no way that tires should wear that quickly in 6 months. VIP completely screwed me over and I think I should be reimbursed for the 2 new tires that I had to buy. read more

I went to VIP in Windham, where I had purchased a set of new tires some months earlier and I couldn't be happier about that choice! Staff members were all friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to be kind and engaging to my two children (who did NOT want to be there) and to me (who also would've preferred to just go home). Unfortunately, in the past I had a bad experience at a VIP at another location but from now I am only going to the VIP in Windham when I need anything done on my car. Great customer service and Josh was great with helping me getting brand new tires when I desperately needed some. He also had them check out some issues I was having with a transmission leak and I came in a couple days later and go it all done as well as the alignment and a couple other things I needed. I like these guys - A Lot. And here's why: I know NOTHING about cars.. I'm completely at the mercy of pretty much any auto shop. So when I bring my vehicle in because it idles hot.. I'm almost 100% certain that some mechanic I don't know is going to tell me "You need a brand new EVERYthing". But I didn't get that at VIP. What I got was .. "You're just a quart low on water.. we put some in and you're on your way." Wow. (I had even shown up WAY late for the inspection appointment .. they Still found a way to squeeze me in and get it done.) I had tires on my SUV replaced by them last summer (2018).. And this was my introduction to the level of service they provide.. a tire shop just a stone's throw north of Windham quoted nearly 200.00 More - for TWO tires. Where to begin... I went in ordered snow tires for my car, scheduled my service for more than a week out. On the day of my scheduled service to have tires put on my car, I called to confirm my appointment time about 2 hours before. I showed up at my appointment time, and 10 minutes later some guy comes stumbling around the corner tells me he's 1.5 hours behind and asks for my info and then he proceeds to tell me they didn't even order my fucking tires with 9 inches of snow coming the next day. And I CALLED TO CONFIRM 2 HOURS BEFORE, NO ONE SAID A FUCKING WORD! Fuck this place and the fucking idiots they have working there. Was in for a routine state inspection and received a call that not only did my car pass, but that I was overdue for routine maintenance recommended by the manufacturer. Each part of the maintenance was explained to me so that I fully understood why it was important. I was given multiple options on how to handle the various parts of the maintenance. I ultimately chose to do all of the recommended maintenance at once which was overall better for the car and I save a few dollars. I, like some of the others on here, am sorely unhappy with this place. They are totally sexist- and no, not all places are- but they treat you like you don't know anything. They tried to tell me certain things were the law, but when you point out that you know they are lying, they alter their response. It's like talking to a politician. And yes, they do over charge. They don't have any prices listed anywhere, so you know that they probably alter the prices for everyone. They try to give you discounts if you come back to them (so they can overcharge you on other things). All in all, I would NOT recommend this place. I have had MUCH better service and treatment from across the street at Sullivan. The only reason I went here was because they were open on Sunday. Will not be making that mistake again. read more

After using a garage down the road for years, I thought give VIP a try. I had purchased a new to me vehicle and the tires on it I learned were VIP house brand. After a good year on them under my ownership I was impressed. As driving a 4x4 you go places that make you wonder "Am I going to pop a tire?". I never did. They held up and never gave me a problem. Well they did finally wear out and I figured I would get the same tire again. The man who helped me was great--straight forward, didn't try to throw the other companies under the bus, or "hook" us, but gave clear information with which to make the decisions.
