4.5 miles from PHX - Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport = less than $25 (including 20% tip= $23.68 total amount charged to my cc card) I arrived from LA to Phoenix yesterday and a VIP Taxi was the only one at the Taxi curb. Hassan (sp?), an older man, greeted me right away and offered to help me with my bags. His cab was very clean with a bottle of hand sanitizer available to his guests. Before we started to drive off, he put on a mask, which I appreciated - especially during this covid pandemic. When asked, he was wonderful about describing the areas I pointed out on the way to my destination. I arrived to my destination and my exit was quick and easy. A receipt was provided. Later that day, our group of 4 had to get to another destination in Scottsdale. We contacted both Uber and Lyft and were quoted 23-28 minutes. With 2 tweens in tow, we thought it would be fun to see which driver would show up first. After several attempts with different drivers of each company, waiting in the Arizona 100+ degree heat outside for 45+ mins, we gave up and went back inside. Once inside, I found my VIP Taxi receipt and called. They assured me they would send a taxi immediately. I asked if they could give us notice when they were 10 mins away so we could have time to head down to the lobby before they arrived and they agreed. I want to be fair and write another review for that driver - Raul. Overall, with this first initial experience, I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend VIP Taxi from Phoenix Airport. read more

To start, I wish to be fair here. The drivers and the dispatch staff at this cab company are great and are non-problematic to deal with. I can even think of a dispatch person and a driver or two who I will miss given that I am done with VIP. The problem here is not the front line staff - it's the supervisors. Whenever something does go wrong, this company can be very difficult to deal with - it's as if they think they are doing us a favor by existing as a cab company. My latest issue is that I took a cab with my Mother to her physical therapy appointment last Friday - something I have done for two to three times a week for well over a year as my Mom's disability has worsened. VIP has a points program where you can earn points towards gift cards for riding. OK now to the problem. Sometimes the points do not credit. In the past this has not been a big deal as a simple phone call could get your points credited. Not any more. There is a new supervisor now who does not know how to fix this and who gave me attitude and tried to push this out into the future so they would not have to deal with this. I would not back down and the supervisor did not care for this. I even offered to exit the points program so I would not have to baby sit the points and so I would not need to speak to supervisors going forward. I was told that I could not even leave the points program if I wished to ride in their cabs - a program that will not credit points and where you have to fight to get the points credited now. The supervisor did not care for me wishing to have my points credited and told me they were done with me. Thankfully, VIP Cab Company has no lack of competitors as Uber, Lyft and Waymo are but a quick phone call away. Thank You to anyone who has read this far and I hope that at least one person other than myself gives up on VIP - at least until they fix their problem with their supervisor's superior attitude and utter lack of customer service. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU EVER RELY ON THIS TAXI COMPANY IF YOU NEED A CHILD SEAT!!!!! I saw online that they offer taxis with child seats, but when I contacted them before our trip I was told we could not schedule a taxi ride with child car seat ahead of time from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Instead, I was told to go to the airport taxi line and look for any VIP Taxis. I was then told that if none of them at the time had a child car seat, they would dispatch one to the airport first us. After getting our luggage we proceeded to the taxi line, and indeed there were no VIP Taxis with a child car seat. We then told the attendant in charge of the taxi line to contact VIP Taxi to dispatch a taxi with a rear-facing car seat. When that taxi arrived (after a 15-minute wait) it did not have a child seat. The driver told us the attendant that contacted them did not request one. So a second taxi was dispatched, and after another 15-minute wait the second taxi arrived, only to find out it only had a child booster seat. I explicitly requested a third taxi be dispatched specifically to include a rear-facing child seat, and was told they contacted a different taxi company to take care of our request. Incredibly, that third taxi also only had a booster seat. They offered to contact a fourth taxi, but we had had enough of the ridiculousness, and left the taxi area. Since I couldn't rely on the taxi line attendant to correctly have them dispatch the type of taxi we needed, I went back inside the airport and personally called VIP Taxi, explained the entire situation, and requested that they send a taxi with a rear-facing child car seat be dispatched to the airport. I was told by their employee on the phone that they could not honor taxi requests to the airport as those taxi rides were arranged through the "street driver". We ended up renting a car at a significantly more expensive cost. I would give VIP Taxi ZERO STARS if I could, but the lowest it allows me to give is 1 star. read more

Instructed by VIP to go to Sky Harbor Int'l lost and found to reclaim phone. I have no car, I have no phone, I am from NY. Lost and found was closed at Sky Harbor, Supervisor Monica was dismissive citing contractor agreements w/ drivers as opposed to solving the problem. The La Quinta we were staying at scheduled our taxi ride for a half hour earlier than we asked for, so we had to rush down to get into this taxi. One of my friends was still gathering his things in our room, and the driver threatened to leave without him, so we got out and took an Uber instead. This was a 4:30 am scheduled pick up. The hotel got it wrong. Did this guy really have a lot of other people to pick up after us? That early? I highly doubt it, especially because taxis are overpriced and the drivers are creepy and/or have antisocial personality disorder. Don't use this service. We called the afternoon before for a 3:45am pickup. Our driver was on time and friendly, however there were four of us and he was in a small car. He said they were short on drivers so he would take two of us and then come back for the other two. Ummm....what??? I asked him if they had any minivans. He said "oh those are hard to come by". Gave them a really good review last time and they completely screwed up my day today. Consider the 1 star a zero star. I've been waiting for a doctor's appointment for my daughter today at 4:30pm FOR DAYS so I called VIP a full day ahead to book a trip. I was so confident that VIP taxi will pull up my driveway at 3:30pm and nothing. I call and they say "no drivers available." What does this mean, I ask. No drivers so that's it? Forget that I had a booking? What's the point of calling ahead if they don't really make arrangements for you? 20 minutes passed and they finally have a car for me, arriving in another 20 minutes. If the car arrived at 4:10, I still would be late for my 4:30pm appontment to the clinic that's 30-40 minutes away. Yesterday 7-14-22 I called to book a critical pick-up for my elderly roommate for a ride home from medical rehabilitation where he was recovering for Hip Surgery. The Dispatcher on 7-14-22 said all was fine they would be there the following day on-time. Today, 40 minutes before today's pick-up, I get a call stating they wouldn't have Mini-Van I had requested & it would be several hours wait. I can clearly state VIP is horrible at reliability and has a profound issue with professionally delivery of service and I caution everyone to not waste your time with VIP as they clearly have NO concept of how to operate a business and deserve to not be in business in any city in Arizona. I booked a ride with the VIP taxis well in advance to go and meet friends for dinner on a Friday evening. 10 minutes after the booking time I called to find out where the taxi was. I was told by the dispatch that it would probably be another 30 to 60 minutes. The combination of being so very late for a pre-booked pick up and not letting me know about it until I called in is completely unprofessional and unacceptable for any taxi company. We're currently at 9 and we've called several times, they keep texting us while we're standing on our street saying they were outside. So we lost our reservations, thanks to them. I called the pispatch at 510. Theybsaid that my request was still in the process of being accepted. The time before that i ordered a taxi and three tumes thwy put me off. Call me a regular! Big, big fan! VIP Taxi are my new set of wheels these days. I call them and they're here lickity split! I've been relying on them as my primary set of transportation as I can't drive. (No right foot until my cast comes off.) Not only are the operators super duper polite on the phone, the drivers are eager to help. The majority of them offer to ferry items up to my apartment. (I live up a flight of stairs.) The cabs are brand new and top of the line. The drivers immediately plug in my destination into their GPS, removing any of the guessing game of how to best navigate. I definitely like these guys. In a word, crap. I used these folks twice in the last week and did not have a single good experience. Both times, the cabs were run down, used up and just plain unpleasant to sit in. I tried not to touch anything that I didn't have to, because I'm pretty sure they hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Despite ostensibly being a non-smoking cab, the first one absolutely reeked of cigarettes. The driver also had KTAR pumping from the speakers. Mind you, they have a sign on the window that indicates you have the right to a clean cab, without radio or music noise and odors like cigarettes. Talk about dripping with irony! Worse than the condition of the cabs themselves, though, was the nature of the drivers. The first driver I had was pleasant, aside from his cigarette smell and forcing KTAR on me, but the second driver? Wow. This guy starts by showing up late, at the wrong house no less, and then calling to leave me a voicemail and asking if I still want the cab (which isn't at my house). Once we sort that out, I tell him where we're going and which way to get there. Signs indicate I have a right to dictate the route, after all, so when he asked, I was explicit. Sure enough, when I tell him we have to turn right at the light, he blows through it and tries to turn into a shopping center after the light instead. I explain several times, we needed to turn right 'back there', not 'in here'. Common sense would dictate that you exit, go back the opposite direction and make a (now) left turn instead. What does this dipshit do? Pulls out and turns right, effectively continuing to drive in the wrong direction and compounding the original error. I point this out to him, incredulous both at his incompetence and the fact that he hasn't stopped the meter because it was his mistake. We end up having to continue in the wrong direction for a ways, make a U-turn and then, mercifully, we get headed back in the right direction. We finally get to where we're going, albeit far later than I wanted to be. Did I get any discount for his mistake? Nope. Apology? Nope. It's also my opinion that he was playing stupid when he missed the turn and then forgot which direction he was supposed to be going, in an effort to run up the fare a few more bucks. If that's the case, what a fucking scumbag, and if not, what a fucking idiot! Use this company at your own peril. I won't ever give them a nickel of my money again. I used to love this service, but it has gotten to where the company does not -care- if you get to your destination on time. IF you can get them to arrive at your reserve time, you are doing good. Yesterday ended up being the last straw, given I needed to get to my destination on time- like always I reserved ahead of time and made sure there was extra wait time for any contingencies. When it hit over 30 minutes late, I suddenly get a message saying my ride was canceled because someone called and I did not pick up. They did NOT call so the lie only served to make me more frustrated. When I called to find out what is up, the dispatch staff is completely unapologetic about the whole thing. When I DID finally get to my work location- over an hour LATE, the staff was understanding because they said this taxi service had a reputation for not picking up their patrons on time lately. Then they advised me not to use them in the future. In short- if anything depends on you being at your location on time- don't gamble with this service. You MIGHT get there on time, but it's not on their priority list to make sure you do. read more

But the taxi did not arrive, only a text saying a taxi would be there 35 minutes later. Phoned up VIP Taxis who weren't surprised, saying there is a 30 lead time. So why bother booking in advance? I don't use taxis very often but when I do I try to use a local company because I'm really not a fan of this ride sharing fad. I would much prefer to support a local company. And I do use taxis from time to time but when I called this company the people on the phone were really not very bright at all. In fact I would say the more descriptive term of what they are is quite stupid. I had to repeat myself 5 times over and over again. So just for your information when someone calls for a taxi they don't wanna spend a 1/2 an hour on the phone repeating themselves. I had an important meeting to go to so I call VIP Taxi in the morning 4 and 1/2 hours prior to the time I wanted them to pick me up. They told me no problem and they would have someone there for me. They sent me a confirmation text message right after confirming my reservation too. I got out of my morning meeting and looked for the taxi and nothing. So I called them and they told me that it would be 15 to 20 minutes before they knew if they would have a driver for me. They called me back and said that they did not have a driver. This is not acceptable! You don't tell someone that you will have a taxi for them and then stand them up. Do not use this company if you have any place important to go! I highly appreciate that the dispatcher actually answered the phone and talked to me (unlike Yellow Cab that had a robot answer the phone and abandon you on hold). The dispatcher and the driver (Scott in taxi #652) were both friendly, courteous, and did there jobs well. I will highly recommend VIP Taxi to others. Here's the situation: My ride from Mesa to the airport fell through, so first I booked a ride with Yellow Cab online. After waiting almost an hour, I called Yellow asking when they would assign a cab to come get me. The Yellow dispatcher told me to wait 20 minutes more. After that 20 minutes was up, and the App said that they still hadn't assigned a cab for me, I called Yellow again and again but only got a robot recording that put me on hold. That was when I searched online for a different taxi service. I was that VIP Taxi was recommended by the PHX airport. I went to VIP Taxi's website and was relieved to see that they have a map that shows where each and every one of their taxis is in real time. I saw they had at least one taxi not too far away. I booked a ride online, and requested a text. When my old flip phone from out-of-state buzzed with an incoming text, but had an error message saying that for some reason I couldn't receive texts, I called VIP Taxi and was relieved that the dispatcher quickly answered the phone. He was very courteous and helpful. He researched my reservation, told me my taxi # and gave me the ETA of when it would arrive. (15 minutes!) That was waaaay better than my dismal experience with Yellow Cab. During that 15 minute wait, I saw on the Yellow Cab App that they had finally assigned me a cab. Then I saw that the Yellow Cab App said the cab had picked up the passenger, and then that the ride was completed. Weird. I guess the Yellow Cab picked up someone else. I messaged the Yellow Cab that it had picked up the wrong person. Meanwhile, the VIP Taxi arrived in 15 minutes, as promised (I got to watch its progress as it drove to my location). The VIP Taxi driver had followed directions exactly to pick me up at a certain spot in a large apartment complex. I, with my suitcase, got in the VIP Taxi, and as we pulled away, a Yellow Cab showed up on the same spot (almost 2 hours after I had made that reservation). I asked the VIP Taxi driver to stop and let me talk to the Yellow Cab driver. I got out and asked the Yellow Cab driver if he was looking for (my name). He said yes. I apologized profusely that I would be traveling in the VIP Taxi, and told him why I had had to call a different taxi service to take me to the airport. Back in the VIP Taxi, I told the driver how sad I was that the Yellow Cab driver was the one who got burned because the Yellow Cab dispatcher was so flakey. The VIP Taxi driver replied that the Yellow Cab driver was working for the wrong company. I hope that the kind-looking man driving that Yellow Cab will read this post and consider switching to work for VIP Taxi, which in my experience is much more organized and professional. read more

Went to their website which promoted their mobil app. Downloaded it and signed up for account. App says you can order a taxi and add a credit card, so ride is scheduled and billed (like Lyft or Uber). Next day tried to order an airport taxi ride for a friend but app said it was a 4 hour wait!!! Called ViP and was told they have taxis at the airport 24/7. Asked why the app wouldn't let me order one without having to wait 4 hours. Didn't get a good answer other than "that's just the way it works". Told ViP I didn't want friend to have to pay and wanted to pay for my friend's ride through the app. He said have to have credit card in hand. App is worthless!!! Was very disappointed with my service last night after arriving home from a 68 hour work week on the road. Not a big fan of ride-sharing so I thought why not use a taxi. Everything started off good until Taxi Driver realized that my drop off location from airport was very close he lectured me about why not wait for ride-sharing and then he sped to my location to get me there as quickly as possible.
