It sits right in the middle of Pier Park at the round about across from the Ferris Wheel. Parking is no issue at Pier Park. For the theater you can park behind it, beside it, in front of it and even across the street from it...and still be within a moments walk to the front door. Given its age, The Grand for the most part is behind the times in major renovations relating to the concessions area, but I am happy to see that they upgraded the theater seats to electric recliners now! The seats are quite comfy and in great shape. With this upgrade, it allows for assigned seats, which is another huge win in my eyes! I have seen many movies here over the years with the most recent visit to see Elvis. While the concessions leave something to be desired, the overall experience was great! Tickets are easy to purchase on site, pull up on the computers or have scanned at the entrance. I know I spoke ill of the concessions area, but I do have to admit the popcorn salt and melted butter station does come in clutch! Overall, solid theater that is clean, well maintained and a great have on the beach!

But years later, and a couple thousand miles away (but still tangentially related to Hollywood) dear Yelper, this Boulevard is that bad. While vacationing in the fabled 30A region of the "Free State" of Florida, the family waned to see the new Superman film. Unlike my home state of California, there were very few choices of theater chains in this region. We should select between AMC and ... um ... AMC. AMC is it. In this case, Miramar. Not "Top Gun" Miramar. Just Florida Miramar. So we pile into the van and head to town. Once inside, we decided to load up on the prerequisite snacks and drinks. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and the snacks, drinks and food menu looked like it had been ransacked after a zombie apocalypse. They were out of many theater mainstays like hot pretzels. When asked if they had licorice, the helpful staff pointed to a display stand and resigned with "all we have is on that cart." We make the best of the limited selection and head into the auditorium. Unlike seemingly the rest of the world now, it's old-school pick your own seat in there. This was okay, since it was a mid-week matinee, but this was the first time since about 2014 I was not able to pre-select my location. The screen was nice. Good projection and sound. By far, the one decent amenity of the day. Our seats themselves were awful. The actual chairs have big "Spirit Airlines, last to board, enjoy the middle" energy. Okay, that's not fair. Spirit is not as uncomfortable as this. After a couple hours of Superman, I felt like I needed to summon Krypton to drag my bent form out of the chairs. Once the showtime hits, congratulations on 30 minutes of ads, capped off by Nicole Kidman urging you once again to go to the very place you already happen to be. Still reading? Thank you. I give AMC a shot about once a year. Each time, hoping they have done something to improve the experience. Yet each time, they manage to do a slightly worse job at being a theater. Modern cinema is now 100 years old. Yet AMC's innovation seems to be "how can we charge more by making people feel terrible, while convincing reddit kids to pump our stock?" So, yeah, Two stars. Once for screen, once for the staff who were actually super friendly despite having very little to sell.

The screen was so small we couldn't make out the numbers on the seats to tell him which one we wanted! FINALLY... he enlarged the screen so we couldn't see the numbers! Why he didn't do this to start with is anyone's guess!!! The worker who directed us to our theater couldn't be bothered to open his mouth or enunciate clearly! When my wife had to walk back to ask him again the theater number he just held up 3 fingers! The IMAX was great was great though!

Had another movie goer obnoxiously snore the entire movie. Told staff and they did nothing about it. Movie went back to a black screen halfway thru the movie. Went to complain to staff, only to find other theaters in the cinema had the same issue. Staff said "it's a known issue". Nothing was done to rectify these errors. Will not be returning to this theater again. 3/10.

Once we found our theatre we were shocked because of the lay out. (If someone were sitting in front of us we would not be able to see as the screen has no type of slant) The bathrooms were pretty clean though. The movie was supposed to start at 2:20 but didn't start until 2:50. Overall not very impressed with this movie theater. The only reason I would come back is because they do 5 dollar tickets on Tuesdays which is a good deal.
