Attended a matinee showing with small children on a weekday. Highlights were that the theatre had very few patrons so my littles were able to be kids without disturbing others. I really appreciate the shift manager that provided earmuffs for my sensory sensitive kiddo. Was able to get free refills with the large popcorn which was very convenient for sharing. The kiddos did play the arcade game in the lobby. What could have improved the experience was if the theater space were cooler (temperature wise). read more

AMC FAILED We used the AMC app to book tickets and requested an email sent to us. That email didn't arrive and left us at their door step without tickets. As we planned to see the movie we bought tickets a second time and used a different ticket delivery method at the door. This resulted in paying the "Convenience" charge a 2nd time and well frustrated at the ineptness of the AMC app. During the Movie we had an interruption leaving my 9yr old in tears. Yes she is 9 and we work with her resiliency but when you are watching on the big screen you loose the effect with these type of issues. After the Movie we went to ask for a refund on the 1st set of tickets we bought. After waiting a while we were given a refund. Then I pointed out that it was about $10 short. AMC advised me that the "Convenience Fee" is not every refunded. I asked for a manager and Manager Zipporah came and repeated the same policy from AMC. They might as well call it an Inconvenience fee as the app cost us time and didn't deliver the tickets in a timely manner. I paid that fee twice for the second set of tickets. I should have asked for a refund on those as well but I didn't. Charging a fee that AMC doesn't refund when they provide poor service is inexcusable. The young manager portrayed that she had no authority or ability to correct the situation which is also another instance of AMC intentionally hiding behind policy and minimum wage workers. My conjecture: Also for those who read this and don't know they charge this fee because they close the main ticket windows and force you to wait in line. This will increase their snack sales. This is the real reason for this fee, because you receive the convenience of not being pressured into the upsell. read more

This is a pretty bog standard AMC theater. The food choices are fine, nothing amazing, but fine. The seats are larger and recline. There are several theaters that are IMAX and with the improved sound. The theater was clean and didn't have issue when I was there but the theater is in the middle of a very heavily trafficked area so I'm sure it gets crazy at times. read more

I could say this theatre is maybe a 3-4 star ( 4 if they cleaned it up a bit more & staff was nicer), but seeing how anytime you call they NEVER answer the phone. So at this time it's a 1 star, and I pray AMC steps in and addresses the work ethic/management here. read more

A really terrible and bizarre theater-going experience occurred last night when my friend and I went to see the 10:05pm showing of "Silent Night, Deadly Night". We were the only two people attending this showing which seemed pretty nice. Prior to film starting, there were numerous ads and commercials being shown, but during the State Farm ad, an extremely loud noise occurred that lasted for at least twenty seconds. It sounded like an air horn being blasted. The noise was deafening especially since I was wearing hearing aids. My ears were ringing. No one ever came into the auditorium to apologize for the sonic blast or even explain why it occurred. Very painful to my eardrums. read more

Words cannot express the disappointment. We arrived at 9:45 for a viewing at 10:00. After pre ordering alcoholic beverages and growing excitement for which beverages we would order, we were met with an unfortunate situation. The bartender had gone home at 9:00 and they would not be serving any beverages except soda. The entire appeal of this theatre was the fact they had such a service. We will not be coming back. The reclining chairs do not recline like an AMC theatre recliner should. Had to move every time someone got up or. And back because there was no room between the chairs and the wall in front of you. Just poor design and needs an update. Bathrooms were old and sad. read more

My family and I chose to go to the AMC in Destin, about an hour away from us to watch the new Anaconda movie, thinking it would be a nicer theater then the one closer to us. However, it is sooo hot as soon as you walk in, we thought it would be cooler in the actual auditorium, and waited atleast 10 minutes to see if the air would come on, NOPE! So, I went and politely asked an employee if they could turn the air on, they said someone would look into it. Waited another 10 minutes and its just as hot, everywhere in the theater, (bathrooms/lobby/auditorium). So, we left because its actually cooler outside then in there and no one wants to sweat in a crowded auditorium with all that body heat while they're trying to enjoy a movie. this is the worst movie theater I've ever stepped foot in. The workers are rude and I called them approximately 25 times in a row and they never answered and I could hear the phone ringing. we asked to get a refund in the lady said we couldn't but when I called the voice message said that we could. my wife, alyssa and I watched the black bag and it was more like black trash because of how bad it was. The movie theater was empty and I went to go to the bathroom and I told this random guy that my movie sucked and he said that his movie sucked too, and it was a completely different movie. it was so hot in this theater and they would not turn the AC on no matter how many times I asked. I felt like I was burning up in this disgusting mood theater. It felt like living hell. there were people talking the entire time. DO NOT COME HERE I would rather go to jail for a year then come back here. I would rather be homeless for the rest of my life than ever come back here. there's disgusting trash and food all over the place ( including the workers) the bathrooms are disgusting and there's poop all over the walls. when I tell you anywhere else is better I've mean it. Stop showing family movies, animated movies and the umpteenth superhero movie in the Dolby Digital Theater with the posh, signature recliner seating. Epic movies like Gladiator 2 should be in the Dolby theater. The IMAX theater has uncomfortable, dated and crowded seats and the screen is torn and smudged. The bar is never open. It takes a decade to build up any Stubs points. The snacks are overpriced however, there are free refills on drinks and popcorn which is a plus. read more

I see rated R movies with my friends all the time and never had to show my ID, so I go again to see a movie and I didn't have my ID bc I have never had to have it in 4 years. Visiting Destin on business, I sought out an AMC location to check Bad Boys for Life. I found this place and it looks amazing from the outside. It really sets you up for an enjoyable movie experience. However, upon entering the theater's seating area, the place reeked with a stench that was somewhat unbearable. The smell went away as I went up to the higher rows. The inside is dated and the seats were dirty and damaged. I couldn't enjoy my movie and sadly, I left early. I threw away my birthday reward bucket of popcorn and large beverage. There was only three of us in there that night and I'm beginning to think that this location really doesn't drum up much business. I'm an A List stubs member and I'd expect that these theaters would keep their respective locations clean, at the very minimal. The experience should be enjoyable for all customers, this was not for me. read more

They've got no right charging full price while running the place into the ground, that's for sure. This ought to be a dollar theater! The overall movie goer experience just isn't on the level you're paying for. Beyond the lobby, it's just worse for the wear with uncomfortable, outdated and often broken seats with shabby worn out carpeting, holes and all. Our entire row of seats was broken this last time in, soo uncomfortable. Sure, I get it. Movies have captive audience, priced for your convenience, concession pricing but I absolutely hate it when it whatever I let myself get rodgered and it sucks. Nothing worse or more disappointing than paying all that good money for flat or bad soda. Those serve yourself Freestyle soda machines almost always suck or are out of ice. I usually have to make up two or three sodas before I end up with something not what I wanted but tastes okay. I think the Stubs reward program is elitist with its special queue and I also think it's pretentious to sell reserved seating tickets for outdated worn out seats. I've been coming here since Rave first opened the place up, long before AMC so many years ago, so my review isn't based on a one-off experience. In fact, I'm at the movies somewhere at least once or twice a month with stretches where I'll go every week. I think the first movie I saw here was Without a Paddle, lol. For those that know me - I am a hot dog connoisseur. It's rare to find a good hot dog in Destin - Ft Walton - Niceville. But true to form AMC Destin Commons provides a hot dog that is pretty darn good. The Band of Brothers (the men in my family and friends) watched "DEVOTION" and my son and I had a hot dog with condiments - nothing fancy just a decent bun on a beef hot dog! But it was nice to sit and enjoy a dog in the theater with a beer and savor the moment! I know working in a movie theater is not the most glamorous job and you're still recovering from COVID impacts. But will say the theater is clean and you got a good dog. Just wished you had onions to go with it! read more

well i work here sooooo it's kinda awkward making a review. i leave next week anyways so might as well share what i believe. the popcorn is really good. it never is stale unless it's been sitting for 3+ hours in the heater. even then, butter can fix any of that bad taste. the new freestyle machines are amazing. much quicker and feels more alive than the old ones. the people are super nice. lived connecting with members old and new, and was a great connecting experience. got me into better communication, and learning to be myself. but as a customer reviewer; popcorn is very good, drinks are good 99% of the time, bathrooms are clean (depending on how busy the day is). Theaters can get messy sometimes, but it always takes a bit to clean up all the busy theaters especially big recent hits like The Eras Tour, Inside Out 2, and the "Barbinheimer" incident. Staff is especially friendly, unless customers snap and ruin staff moods (personal experience, and fellow crew too) overall try to stay clear of anyone negative, this theater is severely underrated. also if you complain about pricing they gotta make money somehow read more

The theater was staffed effectively so there wasn't any long lines. Popcorn was fresh and I loved the seats that were off to the sides by themselves. They don't have reclining seats but overall it was a comfortable setting . read more

Folks are giving this theater a hard time but I think it's great. Awesome seats in the Dolby theater. Clean lobby, restrooms, and theater. Employees were mostly young high school types but they were still friendly and responsive. Only thing to improve would be popcorn. It wasn't hot (or warm), but it also wasn't stale either. I remember this theater from when I lived here in 2010 and I think it's doing just fine. Hard to find a theater in good shape post-Covid, but the AMC in Destin is doing a fantastic job. Thanks guys! Went to watch Widows with my husband. As always, I need to have my popcorn and drink so I head to the concession stand and buy meal #1 Large Popcorn and Large Drink. After popping some popcorn in my mouth, I noticed that the popcorn is salty!!!! So I tell myself it'll get better but not. I couldn't continue eating the popcorn so I go back to the concession stand to ask if they automatically put salt in the popcorn and the guy says yes. So I kindly asked if he could make a fresh batch without salt and he said he can't and I was thinking why not because the popcorn comes separately and not packed in a bag of salt. I thought to myself, wow, that's pretty sad customer service. I'm sure there's others out there that prefer to not have salt in their popcorn. Now I know not to buy popcorn at any AMC theaters and just bring my out snacks into the theater instead. Such a waste of money read more

This theater needs updating. I usually don't frequent the theater but when I do I like to feel comfortable and have some niceties that I've gotten used to visiting other theaters. The chairs feel like the same chairs from 10 plus years ago. There are theaters, AMC's, that now have reclining love seats in them. Think that would be a nice touch of an upgrade. There are others that adults can purchase a beer/spirit if they like. For many, they want that movie popcorn fot its taste. On my last visit, my popcorn was cold and lack taste even with butter. I'm sure that can be fix and or they can add a or diverse menu of fast food items. read more

My goodness how far AMC has fallen. McGruffin's was closed. The concessions had NO food. That's right, no hot dogs, no chicken fingers, just popcorn and candy. Bear in mind that the AMC app still advertises this location as having food. Movie was great which is why I give it 2 stars. I had an issue with dispensing our tickets purchased online and them honoring it. The associate was confused and that's ok, he was young and this was probably out if his realm of experience. However, the manager (Stephen.. or Steven ... or Steve) * glasses and unkept, was so rude. First... he smelled of old clothes and not enough deodorant (this is secondary) but it was quite a presence. Went to see Oppenheimer last night. First time to the movies and this theatre since before COVID. This theatre cleanliness was going down the tubes then (2019-2020). Nothing has changed except it may be worse. We went to a 630 PM showing and the entire theatre lobby, hallways, floor, etc was covered in popcorn and trash. All trash bins were overflowing. The bathrooms were horrendous! Either the management is incompetent, not enough employees, or all the above. We live here however will never visit this theatre again!!!!!! read more

I'm a pregnant woman who was embarrassed for not where a mask for health reasons and treated like a dog. the manager was so rude! told me to put on a mask or leave even after explaining my health reasons. My group had a mask on besides myself. im actually in the middle of renting out a theater for an event. definitely have changed my mind, I don't want to subject my guest to that experience or treatment. also I had covid last year and still have antibodies. Thanks AMC definitely wouldnt suggest supporting this cooperation. read more
