I'll be the first to admit that I've had a hard time adjusting down here(it's been 2 months). So let me say, that I'm not used to getting pedicures while watching other people get manicures, but it's 1 of 2 things I don't like about VIP(see first sentence and remember how spoiled I have been). The people are amazing!! Everyone I came in contact with were kind, professional, and funny they explain anything you have a question about. Frankly my toes haven't looked this good in months. I am giving my fingers a break from the gel. They have gotten thin from the over drilling I received from my first mani-pedi experience since moving. The second thing I didn't like, was I'm used to having a book and knowing what colors are available in gel and regular polish. It was a little confusing from the racks. I had to hunt for the pairs. Also major plus- they are open on Sundays. Everything was clean. The chair massage is pretty darn good. And duh du nana... NO cheese grader things for your feet. I had a really bad experience 8 years ago... those aren't allowed in the same 2 feet radius of my soles. So there you have it folks read more

THEY ASSAULTED MY SON!! IF YOU ARE A PARENT DO NOT GO HERE!!! As soon as I walked in I was racially profiled. The nail technicians were staring at my kids as soon as we walked in. My kids sat down in the waiting area with iPads to keep them busy. My boys were playing and laughing, one of the employees came and told me to tell my kids to be quiet. I called my son over and asked to try and be as quiet as possible. I decided at that moment I didn't want to stay for a full set, because that nail tech was eyeing my kids' every move and I felt uncomfortable. I just wanted to leave. After my pedicure I got up to pay and leave. Another employee asked if I still wanted the full set I said, "no thank you I will just come back for it." I felt like my kids were not welcome there and that I should just leave. When I walked out I noticed my pedicure was horrible. It needed two extra coats at least. It had missing spots. It looked really bad. I walked back in and asked if my nail tech can fix it. This time I had my kids stay next to me hoping it would be just a few min and I will exit the premises. Another nail tech, an older lady was eyeing my kids up and down. Checking if they touch anything. My daughter was sitting down and she yelled at her not to move. I asked her, why can't she move? She said it's distracting. I told my kids to stay still and behave and at this point I was fuming. My 3 old son touched the faucet on the pedicure bowl and that lady got up and grabbed my son's arm and pushed him away from the bowl. I went off. The male nail tech from earlier told me to "be a parent and tell my kids to sit at the front" I told him they were sitting in the front and you complained that they were too loud. I have them next to me to control them a bit better. He said, "next time hire a babysitter before coming in to get your nails done." And I received no apology for the older lady putting her hands on my son. I'm a lawyer and will be pressing charges along with a lawsuit. Don't go here. They are horrible people. I also never finished my pedicure. My polish was completely botched when I left the nail salon. read more

Well...I didn't think I would walk into a nail shop where I was antagonized and spoken to so rude and disrespectfup. JIMMY is the worst. If you are not a regular customer please do not waste ur time going to this nail salon. I went there only to get a repair because the nail shop I normally go to was super busy. Keep in mind there were two nails to b replaced. First I was told it was 10 dollars then when I finish he tells me 20...mind you one of the other nail techs ( who had no proof of licensing) already gave me the price after looking at my nails. Then, as I'm sitting there a lady and her two grand daughters come in AFTER me but because her grandmom came before i got there he allowed the two little girls to basically skip over me and do their nails. I'm sorry if you leave there is no way you should be allowed to skip those who had been waiting since 2:33 for a simple repair in which I left at 4:30. My nails look horrible shape is terrible and JIMMY tops the cake of the horrific experience I had...JIMMY antagonized me spoke very rudely to me during the process especially after I said I planned on leaving a review with remarks of calling me "sweetie" in such a disrespectful tone constantly...I will NEVER GO BACK..they fail to understand without the customers you or the business does not and will not succeed. if you are in the Ridgeland, MS area please go to another nail salon they have people working there that ARE NOT licensed to even do the work, no paperwork to show that any of them do to be honest. I am not satisfied with my nails at all. After asking more than once to have my nails filed to my liking, it was still a mess. I was told that because of my nail beds being so wide, my nails have to be wide which is a lie! I get my nails done often and I've never had this problem. My nails look like the year 2000. They are wide and very very uneven. My two thumb nails are so short and my other nails are way longer! I have pictures to prove it. read more

My first time at VIP nails was today. I was impressed by how clean it was and how friendly the lady doing my nails seemed. I wanted a pedicure and a manicure for my birthday. She put bags of warm wax on my feet during the pedi and then did the same on my hands during the manicure. She insisted I get my eyebrows waxed. I told her I would any other time bc we were in a hurry to leave town but she said it would only take a minute. I thanked her and told her I would try it next time bc I was needing to go out of town and didn't have time. She said "just come over here to my chair and it will be quick." So I did. I should have stayed strong but I didn't want to hurt her feelings. Well the joke was on me! She told me it would be $102 when it was time to pay!!!!!!! I was horrified! I would have gone to a nice spa if I wanted to pay that much! I was so shocked that I called right after leaving and told them I was sure I'd been over charged. I was then told it's $45 for a gel manicure and $45 for a pedicure (bc of the paraffin THAT I NEVER ASKED FOR AND wasn't told that it was optional!) and $12 for eyebrow wax (that I also did NOT need or want.) The best (worst??!) part is that my nails look like a 4 year did them! HIGHLY disappointed in the whole experience. The prices aren't posted so please ask ahead of time if you don't like surprises and ask for someone other than Cecelia if you want a nicely painted manicure. I went here one day when leaving Palm Beach Tan & this is the only place I go now. They give you a bottled water which is great especially in summer. They have reasonable prices & if you go at the right time, no wait. I highly recommend VIP. read more

I've come to this nail shop many times over the years. Service is consistently great! I always love my nails, toes, and the customer service. I just came at closing for a pedicure and they welcomed me in. Pedicure was fabulous and not rushed. The foot massage was really good and my toes are beautiful. The person who did my toes, Victoria, was great and friendly. I've been to every nail salon in the area and this is one of the best. I definitely recommend VIP nails. read more

It took an HOUR to get a gel manicure and I didn't even have anything on my nails to begin with. To top it off, they charge an extra $10 than any other place. So, I paid $45 for the manicure and left a $5 tip. The staff was very kind but that's too long for me and more money than I like to spend. Poor Quality in everything,.. Had been going to them for years before I moved and came back home this weekend to what I thought would be a great experience, as always. To my surprise the guy who only used to service pedicures was now doing nails. No thinking about his experience, I allowed him to render services for me. He was super slow and my nails was still all bad. Had to come back 3 times..and still on the 3rd even after the owner did my nails, they are still peeling. I've only had my shellac on for 24 hours and couldn't be more disappointed. The owner acted as if he wasn't the owner and verbally told me to call the owner in the morning, which is his wife who co-owns this shop. So unprofessional. For me to have to come back 3 times I deserved my money back and not a cheap bottle of nail polish, that he was trying to offer me. read more

When I asked them why a man's pedicure is $10 more they claimed it takes longer yet that was not the case at all my pedicure took 10 minutes longer than my husbands they also clean the tubs using Clorox - not a commercial grade cleaner we will not be returning read more

If I could give half a star or no stars I would. All of the workers were fine except for this one woman. Clearly she hates kids. She was constantly picking my son up putting him in my lap making the other woman who was doing my feet mess up the polish. She finally told her to move out of her way so she could get my nails done and over with. I was suppose to get fake nails also but while I was sitting at the dryer drying my feet she told me I needed to get my child out of there if I couldn't keep him tame. I told her there was no sign that said no children aloud. She argued there was but couldn't show it to me. I'll NEVER waste money there again. Don't nail shops always have their children in there? I've been going here for years, but the customer service has really gone downhill lately. The girl who did my pedicure didn't even speak when she sat down. Then she used the razor and took too much skin off of my feet. My feet have been sore and red for two weeks. This was the absolute worst nail salon that I've ever been to. I asked for a French manicure with a gel set. I was assured that she could do a thin tip. However, after multiple terrible attempts, she said that she could not do it and that she could either call the cops if I refused to pay for what she tried to do or she would "drill them". I will never return to nail shop ever again VIP nails next door to Fat Tuesday is a rip off I normally go to nail shop in Madison but I've been getting my nails done since I was a teenager and never have I ever paid $35.00 for a gel polish change I mean that's ridiculous the dude started off rude at first when I asked which color is similar to the one I already had on my nails he wasn't much help anyhow my nails got finished and then I gave him my credit card and when I signed the slip it said $35.00 I wanted to ask so bad what did I get that was $35.00 cause all I got was a gel polish change but I didn't ask I signed my receipt and left him a $5.00 tip and told him to have a great day but you all can enjoy that $40.00 cause you really lost a lot more than that because I get my nails and feet and eyebrows and eyelashes did every week so you all do the math but I won't be returning that's for sure read more

I used to go here, for years. They were great. That's WERE great. Not so now. They got more and more busy, as the word of mouth that they were so good increased their client base. So, they began to ignore older clients, thinking that we had been going there for so long, we would just stick around and wait and wait and wait while people who came in after us, and who did not have appointments, were seated and served, while we still waited and waited. This started to happen and I thought the first few times were an over site. But clearly they were not. The last time I went there I waited 30 minutes, during that time they sat and began work on FIVE OTHER PEOPLE who walked through the door without an appointment. I was not waiting for any particular person to assist me, and I was waiting for 2 services. They began working on people for BOTH the services I was waiting for. Clearly there was no reason that I should be sitting there waiting for 30 minutes when other people who came in after me got seated right away. Familiarity with your clients does NOT mean you should treat them poorly in favor of making a good impression on new clients. I walked out. I will never be back. After 6 years of loyal patronage, that's a pathetic way to be treated. read more
