The customer service needs improvement. The last two visits to this store have left me feeling uneasy. I enter, write my name and asked while writing "what do you want" I respond hello pedicure followed by we are very busy you can go to another location. So I try again today the time is 3:20 and the name before me arrived at 3:15. I am told I have too many people ahead of you not today. Okay then put up the closed sign. I could understand if I presented minutes to closing. This was not the case. The owner is rude and quite frankly I will never return. I and a special needs friend visited to get pedicures. My friend also wanted a natural manicure. They treated us both like they wanted out of the salon. From the time I signed in until I was sitting at the dry table was 17 minutes. The owner was my technician. She was TERRIBLE. She literally was watching the door the entire time was supposedly working on me. I should have refused to pay. It was that bad. A young girl was working on my special needs friend. She acted like touching her was painful. The owner stood beside the pedicure chair to paint her nails. They obviously did not want her to sit at the nail stations up front so people could see her in their business!!! I did not want to embarrass my friend so I did not make a scene. You could see the brush marks and missed areas on both my nails and my friends. Of course I will never go back, I have been going to this salon for pedicures for several years on occasions. THE WAY THEY TREATED MY SPECIAL NEEDS FRIEND WAS SO SAD!! She was paying the price all the other customers pay. She deserved the same level of service!! If I could leave ZERO stars on this nail salon I would. I have been coming here since I was in middle school (about 10 years) and over the years the quality of their work has progressively gotten worse. The employees are also incredibly disrespectful. It's unfortunate to see that not one employee I have had an interaction with takes pride in their work though their "art" is displayed on my hands. Kim done my nails on December 24th - the day before Christmas. When I left, the gel polish was NOT dry. She is persistently rushing through her work and refuses to acknowledge when her work is below standards. I called on the 26th to ensure they were open and that there was not a lengthy wait. They told me to come on in after I explained what had happened with my nails. When I showed up Kim told me I would be waiting a long time because I didn't get there fast enough even though I was there within 30 minutes. This is the second time that I have made an exception for the poor service I have received from this salon. The time before this I had come to get my nails done and the male employee doing my nails could not stay off his phone long enough to even paint ONE of my nails. I became frustrated and it was apparent as I had been at their salon for 3 hours. He said "he has other stuff going on and if I want to go somewhere else then I should. Mind you my nails weren't even 1/4 of the way done. Again...ZERO pride in what they do and do not care about customer satisfaction. read more

The owner Kim did my nails and we had a pleasant conversation. It took about half an hour to apply a full set of gel tips and gel polish with some butterflies on one nail per hand. The place looked reasonably clean and alcohol was used on my hands before and after the work on my nails. The color of the table is slightly more yellow than skin but it was clean and kept dust free after sanding my nails to prepare for nailforms. I'm satisfied with the level of sterilisation during COVID-19. My one negative comment is that gel polish was used with a UV light and Kim wasn't really open to further discussion about choices in the nail art. Because I am afraid of skin damage from the UV light, I wish she had asked me whether I wanted gel or lacquer. + Gel looks perfect for my purpose. -- If I did this more often I would worry about UV damage to my hands. (UV light can give us Sunburned hands. I forgot to use sunscreen today because it was early but next time I will wear sunscreen on my hands. My favorite brand is Missha by the way because it's not greasy and the tube is pretty and cheers me up. And it has so many pluses +++++ because it blocks both UVA and UVB damage.) Bonus: It would be great if she took a photo of the menu on the wall and of the numbered nail shapes to display all the time in an album all by itself on VIP Nails Facebook. And if customers like their nails enough to give permission, photos of the finished nails. Go with reasonable expectations please and just trust her. Read the menu on the wall and the number of nail shapes and then just leave it to her. I had something a little more complicated in mind but I got what I needed. It is entirely unnecessary to argue if you saw some wild trendy design in Elle or Vogue or Pinterest. I mean, show a photo then order from the menu and be happy with her professional filing and painting. She does very good work very quickly and if you got a detailed painting it would cost more for more paint and time. I got sturdy sturdy gel forms and they were filed into perfect round forms. We kept them sensibly short because I use my hands roughly and am afraid I'll break them. And the color matches my lipstick for the photo shoot. I'm very happy with my nails! Now to see if I can keep them in shape for one month till they grow out a bit and it's time to come back and remove them. Thank you VIP Nails! ‍‍‍ read more

Isn't it a mandatory that nail salons have to sanitize their instruments used in pedicures? This is the second nail salon I have gone to this month where they "reuse" clippers, nail files, cuticle cutters, etc. It's not a very clean salon, the owner isn't a very pleasant person; especially to new employees, and the atmosphere is nonexistent. $40 is way too much to charge for the experience, or lack thereof. read more

I'm only giving one star because it won't allow less then that. I was in town for work and a lady there recommended them. Wanted mani and pedi. The owners Tim and Kim were super rude. He was yelling at everyone. I waited 30 minutes then it took two hours to get a basic pedicure. My basic i mean all they did was soak in water, take old polish off and a little rubbing. Didn't even touch my cuticles. I asked if they had upgraded ones with hot wax or anything and the guy had no clue what i was talking about. He apparently knew no English. Had to repaint my toes twice bc they kept smudging. My 10 yr old niece could have painted better. I had black polish all over my toes. Come to find out he used gel instead of regular then had to repaint them for a 3rd time. Then charged me $40 for the WORST experience ever that took over two hours total. I just went to this saloon for a basic pedicure with gel polish. As I was walking in the door I was getting my mask out and one of the employees barked at me that I needed to wear a mask. I have no problem with wearing a mask. I was again barked out to go wash my hands. I have no issues with the hand washing. I have a problem with the way he spoke to me. This was my first and last time visiting the saloon. The nail tech did not buff my nails or address my cuticles. The entire process took less than 25mins. When I went to pay she said $50. The service board stated $30. I thought maybe she made a mistake and she stated its $20 extra for gel polish. When I asked for gel polish she did not tell me this. Second time there and it definitely won't be back. The young guy who did my nails both time was really super good, but the owner, who sits at first desk on right, is the rudest, hatefullest person I have seen in a while. While speaking with a friend of mine while sitting in waiting area and speaking at normal tone, she interrupted our conversation to give us her input, and this wasn't the first time. Then while I was sitting in the pedicure area, she yells at me in a loud voice across the store when I reached for the chair remote to turn it down. I give this place 0 stars. (Yelp made me give it at least one) I walked in the door and signed in like everyone else. No one greeted me and said "how can I help you" like they did everyone else following me who walked in the door. I watched them take two people who came in after me to start their services, while I still sat there STILL WAITING TO EVEN BE ACKNOWLEDGED !!!! I said "excuse me" and the man and the lady said "oh you're next" and I politely got up and walked out. Went there this morning to get my nails done with my sister. They were supposed to open up at 9am. I got there about 8:50 waiting for them to show up. No one showed up until 10 after!!! This place was horrible! First off I walk in and the guy, Tim I think it was, said "What do you want?". I should have walked out just after that. They were not welcoming at all! I sit down after I pick my color and the lady that did my nails, Kim (the owner), was soo rude! She barely talked to me and when she did it was in a snotty tone. While drummeling my nails she knicked my pinky and it obviously hurt me because I pulled my hand back and said OUCH! She didn't even apologize or ask if I was ok, she just jerked my hand back and continued. Another thing is there were a couple of people in there that were obviously regulars that they were really nice to and cracking up jokes. I noticed the new people like myself got no respect from them whatsoever. Thankfully I was only visiting with family and won't have to go here if I want to get my nails professionally done. They need to learn about customer service BIG TIME! I'm from southern California where all the nails places are friendly people who actually care enough to make a good tip!!! This place SUCKED!! This was the worst manicure I've ever had. The technician was rude, didn't cut my cuticles at all, sloppy paint job and was visibly upset when I asked for my nails to be cut shorter. Not once did he speak to me besides barking orders. The polish selection was from the 1980s, not a single neutral or natural pink, marroons and neons were what was available.
