If you want to waste money VIP Nails would be the perfect nail salon for you. I am from New York and every time I visit Atlanta (which is very often considering the fact that I have family and friends here) I come get my nails done at this salon. I don't know if it's because it's under new management, but the quality and the execution was less than acceptable. I went there on Friday (12/13/2019) to get a manicure, pedicure, and my eye brows done, I also paid for my two sisters to get their eyebrows and nails done totaling $170. I don't drive so when I'm here I take public transportation and Uber's which should be added to my expense (so that's $190). I went there yesterday (12/16/2019) because the "gel" peeled after just 3 days on one nail. The tech tried to fill in the hole instead of removing the polish entirely and had an attitude when I told her to do so (which idk why because it was just one nail) and walked away once she finished with out a word. The next day which is today (12/17/2019) my little sister was on her way to school she closed the car door and 3 of her supposed "acrylic" nails broke off after just 4 days (clearly the tech did it way to thin). She was in so much pain that I called the nail salon infuriated because I was just there to fix my nail the day before. The manager, Tina, told me that if the person who did it wasn't there there wouldn't be anything she can do about it. That doesn't even make any sense, When I showed up to reconcile my sisters broken nails the male nail tech tried to blame her and had an attitude while fixing them and they didn't even match the other set (but I let it go because it wasn't so noticeable and I had it with them). I should've know that it would be problematic once I noticed my gel coats were inconsistent along the nail beds, but I thought that being that once I made my sister nail tech clean around her nail beds (which she neglected to do because she's a little girl,12, and doesn't say much) everything was fine, but a las it wasn't. So now (with the added Uber's for today) I'm $210 poorer for rushed, inconsistent, low quality nails, and sub par customer service. Although I informed them I don't want the gel polish they have the audacity to charge you $35 for a FILL IN because they're polishing your nails with gel polish!! GTFOH! I made the mistake of leaving for a trip out of town without getting my nails & feet done before my trip. (I know right..don't judge me) After taking a wild guess, and poking thru previous reviews I took a chance, and I was SUPER satisfied. CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL, & HONEST. These techs know their craft, Kim was a sweetheart, and super patient (the art of picking the right color can be dreadful)....my pedicure with the sugar scrub was amazing!!! So my boyfriend drops me off to treat me to a pedicure i come in to pay in advance and ask for a simple spa pedicure and get offered everything other than what I ask for I proceed to pay and they make me go get my boyfriend to verify his id fine by me guess they have a lot of fraud... I sit in a spa chair and wait for a least ten min without getting in hot water to soak in while I wait eventually I just have to ask for it! I went to get my nails down on 11/28. By 12/5,the gel was coming up, one gel nail halfway off. I went back on 12/5 to show whoever my nails. The lady asks me who did my nails. It's not like we exchanged names and I didn't see her. They should keep records of this. She told me a lot of people were off on Monday. Because it's miracle I had time to get my nails done in the first place, I was upset. I couldn't stay but what really pissed me off is that she said she would do the one that is now completely off. I was not rude. I just gave her the side eye and said okay, because that whole I don't understand English BS was coming into play. I don't have time for games. I will never and I mean NEVER go back there again. I didn't use Monopoly money to pay for my nails. I used taxable income and spent a precious 45 minutes for a mani/pedi gone to dust. I have gone to this nail shop 3 or 4 times because it is convenient and offers great pedicure services. On my most recent trip I tried the SNS nails and a full face wax. The woman I worked with was a sweet older woman. They did not have the color Initially chose so she brought me other similar colors to choose from for my nails. My nails were not very good after everything was done. The color was far from the color I originally requested ( which is partly my fault I guess) the nail shape ( almond) was not consistent throughout, there were bumps from the fake nail coming through the coats, and the sparkle coat she added after I requested to add rhinestones, was simply ugly. I did not complain though.. I thanked her because she was so nice....so on to the waxing, I asked her to clean my brows up since I had grown them out and wanted to keep the shape. She said ok and then made my eyebrows much thinner than they were before and also changed the shape.. they didn't look terrible so I didn't complain, even though she ruined months of work.. she waxed the rest of my face and it was fine. She did it differently than most.. then I peeked while her back was turned and caught her putting hand sanitizer on a towel.. I closed my eyes before she turned around. I asked her " what is that you're putting on my face?" She said it was COOLING GEL this woman flat out lied to me and then put hand sanitizer on my face! The only reason I tipped the woman was because she was nice and I knew that she would never get any money from me again. My skin broke out and I had a cut under my chin after this wax. I also had ingrown hairs on my neck after receiving a was from this woman. I WILL never go back here. They suck and the employees complain about the customers to other customers all the time. If I could give a negative fucking review I swear I would. These people are so unprofessional it's sad that they are still in business. They are dirty and rude. I went for my first time a few months ago and my experience was terrible. The short guy who seems to do a horrible job of running the place did my nails and he doesn't know how to. He shaped them horribly. It was bumpy and uneven. While he was buffing my nails he continued to cut my cuticles. Finally after complaining too much he switched me to somebody else who saved the day and he only took off $5 for my trouble after having to wait for an hour and then being in the salon for almost 4 hours. My second trip was nothing but a mistake I went in to give them a second chance instead I got disappointed again. I wanted a short set with a summer yellow color the same guy who fucked me up the first time say down again and I told him what I wanted and he said okay. He cane back with the color which I also requested dip powered he cane back with colored acrylic the color in the jar looked like what I requested and when he went to apply it, it turned out to be this orange color. I asked him if the color will change once it dried he said yes but that was not the case. Again, the man doesn't know how to do nails so shaping was an issue and he was still cutting my cuticles. After about 15 minutes of doing my nails he then walked to the back and then came back to sit me with someone else to fix his mistakes. I thought everything was fixed until I woke up the next day and the paint on my nails was bubbling up. Today I got up and the polish was coming completely off. I went back up there to get a refund of the $100 that I paid for my services cause I also treated my girlfriend to a pedicure that was horrific. She asked for a basic pedicure with a food scrub and all she did was wash her feet and put a clear coat. And when I requested for it to be redone the lady refused. When I went back today, I was told I could only get a refund for my nails but they would have to clip them first. Visiting from up North I'm not used to seeing nail salons so big. The massage chairs were the best I've ever experienced. I got a gel manicure, pedicure, and back massage. Ven was really sweet. Although she had someone run out on her earlier without paying, I couldn't tell with how professional she was. The massage she gave with the pedicure was a hairstylists dream come true. I started going here about six months ago and everything went well until some young girl was assigned to do my nails. I went in for a gel manicure and asked for orange nail polish. She painted my nails, but when they came out of the black light, they were Easter pink! I stated this concern to the young lady and she told me this was due to the nail bed still being hot. I took her word for it, but when I woke up the next morning, my nails were still Easter pink. I contacted the salon and spoke to the same young lady and she told me to come in and she will gladly change the color for me. I went in and was directed to speak to the owner, least to say, she was very rude! She told me that it was my fault that my nails were pink and I should learn my colors. What kind of business owner talks to people like that? I am the one that helps you pay your bills! After going back and forth with her she finally allowed me to change my color, but she decided to paint on top of the polish that was already on my nails! After I expressed to her, that is not the proper way to change gel polish she told me that I would have to pay extra for her to take the polish off. I allowed her to paint the new polish on top and left! I will NEVER step foot back into this place. read more
