Yikes. I don't think I've ever left a review, but I don't know how this couldn't be my first. Asked for a traditional pedicure, no gel, just regular polish. Nail tech was so confused that I didn't want him to take the top layer of my nail off with the electric file since I just wanted regular polish. Always awkward, but got it across. Then, I legitimately watched a grown man (that was an employee) sit right next to the pedicure chair I was in next to the front window and pick his nose for a solid minute straight; as far back as he could get with all the twists. He finally got what he was searching for and flicked it on the ground; and then went back for more. Another almost full minute just enthralled in the video on his phone without a care in the world, digging for the deepest gold. I was literally staring at this point. He then finds more, looks up from the phone, wipes it on his apron and then gets up and walks off, when he sees me looking at him with a horribly disgusted and about to gag look on my face. Next person that came in, he came out of the back to perform their service. My nail tech did give a great lower leg massage, so that was the positive part but he also made both of my cuticles on my big toes bleed quite a bit and then immediately sprayed rubbing alcohol all over them to, I guess try to stop the bleeding, but of course, it felt like fire in my toes. I will not be returning to this salon. I went here twice for an acrylic nail set, the vibe was nice and I felt comfortable. The first time I went I had nothing on my nails, so the tech just put the acrylic set on and I went on my way. I returned and got another set, while taking my set off the tech jammed an uncut nail tip between my real nail and acrylic and ripped the acrylic off! I was appalled! This technique has been known to damage your nails and it shows the absolute lack of care the tech had for the health of my nail! read more

One of the more friendly places in Mt Vernon to get a pedicure. I walked out of MJ Pro Nails because they have become so reticent about doing pedicures. They actually skipped past me because the guy who was next didn't want to do a pedicure. VIP Nails got me right in and was very friendly. The young woman who did my nails was good at what she did and friendly to boot. Only down side was someone was smoking behind a curtain and it smelled terrible in the small shop. I probably wouldn't let it keep me from coming back though. read more

Oh my goodness KeKe(Helena) always go over and beyond my expectations. She always comes up with new ideas and different designs for my nails. I went in wanting to get my nails chrome,she said she got some new colors and wanted to see if I would like to try it....because she know I love to be different. This rose gold chrome is amazing.
