Oh and the resupply food items for backpackers is amazing. Oh and they even had Leukotape and fuel canisters. Bravo! Running the place were Frank and Valerie and they couldn't have been nicer folks. And the people of the area shppping this store are so kind and friendly. One lady even gave me a sample of a powdered drink mix she likes.

Much easier to scoot on by the Golden Acorn up on the hill knowing that this station and convenience store exists. Easy to operate pumps. We have never been there when all the pumps were taken. Fantastic store inside chock full of snacks and drinks. Very clean restrooms. This is a perfect place to hit the restroom and fill your tank after making it through the mountains on your way to San Diego or the perfect place to fill up your tank and hit the restroom before heading into the mountains on your way to Arizona. We have always gotten friendly and fast service from the employees. I suggest you give them a shot. It may change the way you approach San Diego, or the way you leave it.

I asked the cashier, an early 20s young lady if the donuts were fresh to which she said "I think so". I said, I dont think this one is, she replied, well, maybe not then. I said ok and placed it on rhe counter. She rang up the item as full price rather than the day old price. (I live locally so am familiar with the stores practice regarding day old pastry). I asked the cashier if that was the best she could do regarding the price. She took the donut off the counter, looked me straight in the eye and THREW the item into the trash can! I said to her. "So you would rather thow the donut away instead of selling it?" She simply stood there staring at me! I responded nothing to her and left the store. I have been a regular customer of this business for over 9 yrs and have ALWAYS had a happy friendly relationship with everyone connected. Sad that such a bitter person has been hired, so sad.
