I'm glad to have this place in Lancaster. Where I grew up, all the true drum shops had gone out of…read morebusiness. The staff here is generally friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Although one particular guy (can't remember his name because I avoid him) likes to swear every other word for no apparent reason. But compared to Guitar Center, Best Buy, and Menchey, this store is head-and-shoulders ahead of the game. Chain stores can't match the service, the product assortment, or the mojo of a real drum shop. My last few purchases at Drums Etc. have been in the few-hundred dollar range: snare drums, cymbals, and hardware. Each time I got a good deal and walked away happy. They don't have everything under the sun, but most likely they will have something you can use if you have a specific need. Used cymbal prices are a bit high, but often that is because a consignee has set the price. I do wish there was some new Ludwig product on the floor other than 2 or 3 snare drums. They do carry Yamaha, Tama, Pearl, Gretsch, Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste, Meinl, and many other major brands. I give these guys my business whenever possible. If you're a drummer, please do the same! If not for Drums Etc., there would be no worthwhile music store in Lancaster -- especially for drummers!

Great Drum Shop! Love the personal vibe at Drums Etc -- it's way more than just another store…read more These folks truly support the drumming community and always make you feel like your a friend. Plus, you will score hard-to-find parts and cool drum goodies you cant find in music stores. Total gem for drummers!

An Alternative I've…read morebeen searching for a specific guitar for sometime and it became clear I was going to have to special order it. While it wasn't a rare or otherwise unique instrument it was not a typical off the shelf version. I decided rather than running across town to the typical "Big Guy" I go to Menchey's. I was greeted by Tim Miller who listened to my wants and needs, located the exact instrument I was looking for and noted he would match the street price for the instrument. That said we ordered it and were off to the races. Tim kept me posted the entire time via emails and right before he call for pick up he told me it was in and was with a technician who was going over it with a fine tooth comb so to speak. To me this was good news cause nothing is more frustrating than paying out what to me an I guess most folks is good cash and having to spend the first couple of days dialing in the instrument. I don't buy cheap off shore guitars and my expectation is not that Fender, Gibson or Ibanez is going to keep my personal specifications or likes on file to ensure guitars I order come in set up and stage ready. I do like when they come in and the necks are reasonably flat and not loaded down with a lot of buzz along the length of it etc. Anyway my point is, it was nice to get some personal service and to be able to work with some one who a) is a musician and b) takes pride in what they send out the door. Just a though, but the next time you are looking to buy new equipment, be it guitars, amps, keyboard or horns, give Menchey's a shot at your business. I was quite pleased.

Bring it up and we can send it out if it needs repair." I drove an hour to Lancaster from my home. Took it into the store and was immediately told they don't work on that particular brand! Screw them! There's a guy in the city that looked at it for free. I will not be dealing with this place again. Such a disappointment.

I'm local to the area and use Tone Tailor often but not as much as I wish I could. There have been…read moremixed reviews on the personnel at the store but my experience has been they have always been friendly, and helpful. This is the chance that if you come in at off hours they are working on equipment and maybe focused on that. They are a smaller operations so the owner wears a number of hats. The hardware at the store has been commented on and for a smaller shop I think they have a great selection. On aspect not commented on was the lessons. The instructors they have on board know what they are doing and can work with everyone from the beginner thru advanced students. These aren't guys who yesterday were giving lessons out of the back of their Mom's apartment but rather are mainly gigging musicians who are augmenting their income via lessons. Most have formal educations in their trade. Final comment is on their repair services. They have in store ability to repair most equipment - none of this drop off you gear only to later find out it was shipped out somewhere to be worked on. You can get real time feedback on where it is at in the repair process. Only slight draw back is they are in demand so they may not be able to turn it around over night. Tone Tailors is the kind of store you'll want to go back to. It's interesting to see the musicians who just hang out there discussing the local music scene.

Good repair department. Decent selections of guitar gear. Looking forward to their move back to…read moredowntown Lancaster, because getting through Lititz to the Rock Lititz campus is often a hassle.
