It was an hour of pure bliss for me. This bookstore is well stocked and the prices are great! Used books in perfect condition on the shelves next to new copies, so very affordable to those on a budget who, like me, intend to walk out with a stack, not just a single title. While I was in browsing heaven, I realized my phone was nearly out of charge (checking my Goodreads TBR did that ). No problem! The bookstore employee plugged my phone in behind the counter, unplugging one of his own devices to make this possible. I cannot recommend this bookstore highly enough. There were benches and cozy chairs, and the most adorable child-sized reading nook in the children's area. I briefly wished to be eight years old again. I'm looking forward to our next visit to the Jackson - Tetons area. This will be my first stop.

She did ask if I needed anything as soon as I entered. I told her I was just looking, so she let me browse. When I asked a question about price or a particular book, she answered. That's my dream used bookstore! I want to be able to just wander and look for myself, and when I need help, to have someone be available to help me. I don't need my hand held in a used bookstore. I also had no issue with the debit card except that she said the fee for processing would be added. They are a small bookstore; it's within their right and their survival to have policies like this and I've encountered that policy and other mom and pop stores as well. You'll find everything from Japanese writing and culture to American war documents, along with fascinating historical materials. There were even vintage Pocatello postcards and books featuring famous photographers like Edward Weston. They also host open mic nights, which feels so friendly and community oriented. Honestly we didn't even see a single employee while we were there, but we had a lovely time wandering wherever we wanted and exploring the space. I don't care what side of the political aisle you maybe on, I think it is inappropriate, unkind, and intolerant language. Also, I think using vulgar name-calling to describe people you might disagree with discourages thoughtful communication. And without thoughtful communication developing love and understanding becomes more difficult. I love and care for many different people with many different varying political views. What someone believes politically does not make them less worthy of love and understanding. I'm unlikely to visit this bookstore again because of the interaction I had.
