Tom The Mold Guy does a great job, and I definitely recommend him. I am a Realtor, and recently I had a situation with a rental property where a mold test was needed quickly. Tom was able to work this appointment into his schedule, and come out to do the testing the very next day. Just this week, I used Tom's services again, and in this instance it was for one of my Buyers. There was an area in a townhome that I had under contract for the Buyer where we suspected mold, but this could not be determined on a regular inspection. The mold testing lab results revealed that there was some microbial activity in the basement level of the townhome, and a remediation was recommended in Tom's report. My Buyer was very appreciative of the straightforward advice and expertise from The Mold Guy! I would also like to say that when I initially learned that a mold test was needed, I did not know where to start. I wanted to make sure to find someone who was knowledgeable and reputable, so I was not comfortable with looking in the Yellow Pages or some similar source for someone to do mold testing. I typically don't write reviews, but given the experience I had with Tom, I had to share. We discovered we had mold under our kitchen sink and had 2 other companies come look. I have a TBI and auto immune diseases so it was very important to remediate this situation as soon as possible. I could not even get an estimate from the other two "5" star companies. I called Tom at 7:30 am, he picked up the phone was out here by early afternoon and had said it was black mold not aspergillosis like the other guy mentioned. He immediately attacked this situation like it was his own home. He started bringing in state of the art equipment and sealing up the areas and ventilating to start killing off the mold. He tested the air quality and took them to a lab late that night and had the results expressed, so we knew exactly what the air quality was the next day. After he safely contained all the areas in the kitchen and basement, we went to a hotel. The next day I drove by my house and they were already squeezing us in given my health and had remediated the entire situation within 24 hours. I still had not gotten my estimate from the company my insurance recommended at this point. They left my house spotless, they did such an amazing job. Tom has a huge heart and passion for his job. I contacted Violet Frog to have our air tested and to check for mold/moisture issues. Tom came out and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in my understanding of the process, and took the time to answer all of my questions, and I had a lot :). Aside from his experience in this area, one thing that really stood out to me was his honesty as he directed me to a different course of action than originally planned, even though it cost significantly less. He gave me the best course of action for my situation by providing a detailed plan, and made me feel comfortable as he is friendly, clean-cut,and professional. Got Tom's number as a referral from a flooring company due to water damage in my basement. He was very thorough in his assessment and analysis of my basement as we discussed my mold problem. His background and knowledge base goes well beyond Mold itself which is an added benefit to any customer. When he left I felt very confident, as opposed to clueless, about my decisions that I have to make regarding my situation. I kept smelling a musty, moldy smell in my rental home; no one else could smell it. Tom the Mold Guy came out and did a complete inspection, including air quality samples. I was not crazy, there were actually traces of mold. He knew exactly how to treat the mold, explained the entire process to me and then actually showed up on time on the day promised. The best part is that after the two-day process, he and his team patched and painted the effected ceiling and matched the paint so perfectly that I can't even see where the work was done. Crawl spaces are a nightmare and mine was not an exception! I had water in my crawl space and had put insulation plastic which did not take care of the problem. Tom the Mold Guy was referred by a friend. After he bravely inspected the crawl space he made recommendation on how to keep the humidity away and how to dry up the place. The crawl space was so bad that you could smell mold in the house even. Tom's measures took care of the odor and fixed the problem. I had mold on the upstairs bedroom ceiling and I thought that I needed a new roof. After Tom's inspection, it turned out that I only needed to replace two vent boots to stop the leak.
