I toured 3 other places before choosing Dragonluck. My dog was rescued from a puppy mill and has severe separation anxiety and housebreaking issues...It is hard to put into words what Dragonluck has done for his rehabilitation! Dawn spent a lot of time teaching him to stay close to her when off-leash (greyhounds tend to take off so this is an accomplishment). After we had been sending him three times per week for a couple of months, we noticed an incredible difference In his behaviour and confidence. Dawn is very flexible and happy to take the dogs whenever is needed and with little notice. She has a tremendous amount of knowledge and is happy to share it because she really loves all of her clients. The property is large and there is a place for them to swim and play, and it's all well fenced. My dog loves going here and starts dancing in the back seat as soon as we turn into the driveway. The price is very reasonable! I don't hesitate to recommend Dragonluck to anyone. Dawn and her helpers are wonderful!

4.5 stars from us!! We were going to Ottawa the August long…read moreweekend to attend our daughter's wedding. Having never been before we decided to make a holiday of it and take our motorhome and of course Cooper(our puggle) came with us. After searching for a kennel online we happened to contact Dawn at Dragonluck Kennels. Not only did she help us with our questions and helped make our choice to use dragonluck, she went above and beyond. We emailed back and forth with her replies being quick not leaving me waiting. Originally Cooper was going to just use the daycare for a few hours the day of the wedding, however plans changed and he ended up on an overnight. In order to allow us to sight see the next day before leaving Ottawa, she offered to deliver Cooper to us at our campground, saving us a trip back out to the kennel (at least 1/2 hour away). Cooper was in fine spirit and didn't seem to have any anxiety over being away from us. And he ate!!! That is incredible in itself. As he is 11+ years, he has developed some separation anxiety when in strange environments. Apparently not at Dragonluck. Dawn and the staff get a huge thumbs up from us, Great experience. The location is A-1 also - cant go wrong with the country feel!! Needing a kennel for your furry pet for a few hours or overnight, call them up - you wont regret it!! ~Sheila & Lonney~

I looked at several school for Bodhi's puppy education and decided to go with the Ottawa Canine…read moreSchool located on St-Laurent Blvd. The Ottawa Canine School has several classes to choose from such as puppy kindergarten, obedience, agility and Canine Good Citizen preparation. I wanted to enroll in puppy kindergarten and was glad to learn that the registration is on going. You can start at any date and will get 5 lessons of 1 hour. On his first day, Bodhi got to meet with Alana & Roxanne, the trainers, and was right at home. We were shown the proper way to have dogs greet and moved to the hall where the training happens. The training hall is large and clean. The classes have a nice flow and are very interactive. You also get to interact with other dogs. There is a small break halfway through the class. Alana is very knowledgable and Roxanne gives your dog the extra attention that they sometime need. The Ottawa Canine School also has a day care including a one just for small dogs on Thursdays. Bodhi loved his experience and since he was already familiar with the settings because of puppy kindergarten, he was immediately comfortable. The only downside that I would like to point out is that you have to reserve/cancel in advance as there is no walk-ins. I would recommend both the classes and the day care and not to hesitate to contact them if you have any questions.

Not to mention that when my dog tried to PLAY (GASP!) at the PLAY DATE, she wouldn't cease following him around everywhere he went and giving the whole family looks, instead of approaching us with any concerns/letting us explain my dogs noisy and energetic ways. From the moment we walked in we all felt judged and considered leaving early after being told that we couldn't use some agility equipment because we were making my dog jump "too high" (maybe 3/4 of a foot?) while we were just testing out what he would be like. I was highly considering taking Timber there for some agility classes because the facility really is gorgeous, welcoming and well-kept but FAT CHANCE now. I have no doubt that their TRAINING would be fine, but this experience absolutely ruined it for me. Such a terrible waste of my $20.

The morning of are trip she email the dogs medical info and asked if there was anything we needed to bring or need to know before we go. We were told no and they would see us later. Being are first time there we showed up around 2 not knowing there are special drop off times. The owner was rude from the start and wanted us to pay $31.00 to drop off the dogs early and that we should no this as it's on the email. I started to asked my wife to take a look at the emails and the owner didn't let me finish my conversation with my wife when she went nuts screaming at us and getting in our face. I keep asking if I could finish my conversation but she keep freaking out saying no and telling us to pay the $31 or get out of her property. If she would have let me finish I would have said if it's on the email i have no issues paying it. We ended up leaving as her verbal harassment was to much. We later check all email correspondence and the only thing is a small signature block with the time they are open. There was nothing in regards to a early drop off fee or a fee if you show up at a deferent time. When then went to Hwy 7 pet retreat unannounced. It was not a drop off time but they were very helpful and kind and had room for our dogs. Since it was our first time there they took the time with a smile to explain how it works there. Oh ya no extra charge. One must not forget that this is a service oriented business that should be handled with poise and a smile. Thank you for reading this review.

My mom had made the appointment and since it's much closer to home, I decided to check it out. Upon entry, it's nice to see that it's a nicely sized store- not too big or too small, just right...and there are two cats that kinda roam free and hang out (aka they nap at the front and chill). I think it was a good indication that it's not a chaotic place since animals can be really sensitive to that kinda thing. When I met the groomer, I explained my crazy and over protective pet parent concerns, and they listened attentively and helped to ease my mind. Gizmo was very excitable but he didn't seem nervous- that also reassured me because I cared more about his experience than my own. The grooming process took between 2.5-3 hours, which I think has been pretty standard in my experience. Gizmo smelled and looked amazing when he was done, freshly groomed puppies are my favourite! The price point isn't bad, either. I was worried it would cost more than my previous spot (PetSmart) but in the end came up about 10-15 dollars less. Amazing! Gizmo seems really happy, so I'm sure we will be back again for his next grooming. Kudos!
