I have spent well over $75,000 at Vintage Nursery. They landscaped my complete 1/2 acre yard with Lin Phiullippii and the vintage landscaping staff. I have bought many many plants each year at this business. I bought 11 Ixora Coccinea Maufi Orange 5 gallon plants this year. Today I bought in the lastest one that I bought that was dead and they flatly refused to give me a replacement plant. These last plants were bought in November. This woman refused to look at any of my 3 receipts. The lady at the desk was rude and refused to give me a replacement plant or any credit. The 30 years employee who always helps me stood there and was speechless and shook his ahead. With this lack of complete customer service I will never shop ever again at Vintage Landscaping. The lady did not care and I cannot recommend to anyone to buy anything at this business. I hope the owner(s) of this business reads this review so they will know what what 1 employee can do to ruin their reputation. read more

I purchased 70 Honeysuckle plants to cover 1/2 acre of walls in my back yard. After spending $3,000 on the plants and having them planted, I was told that I had Cape Honeysuckle, and in the high desert I should have planted Japanese Honeysuckle. Well, after the first night under 32 degrees, the photo speaks for itself. When I contacted the owners of Vintage, I only got excuses, and no help what so ever. If you are just an individual, be careful, as I know Vintage Nursery is a big Nursery in the Desert, and has many big clients. If I would have been a big client, I don't think they would have been blown me off like a strong Santa Ana Wind. read more

Great customer care. I was taken personally in a golf cart around their huge garden nursery and given advice and suggestions for each item for my landscape. I am redesigning my yard with desert scape and they were so helpful. For each plant he gave me planting, watering and fertilizing suggestions... so helpful! They loaded my trees, bushes and plants for me too. Worth the little extra over the box store which half of my last plants died. I would give Vintage Nursery my highest recommendation!!! read more

I went to this nursery today and was outside for 20-30 minutes no one helped or came out. I walked inside and asked for help and was instructed to go to another building a few doors down and ask there. No one was at the front. I hit the buzzer and a lady came out and didn't really want to help; she directed to me to a lot out back. I didn't see what I needed so I again went inside, no one was around and I hit the buzzer once again. I asked if she could order two cement fire bowls that matched as they didn't have two of the same for me. She said no and they wouldn't have more for two months. I asked for a recommendation to another place and she said Moller's in Palm Desert! Thank the lord because Daniel at Moller's was beyond helpful. He went above and beyond finding me just what I needed. read more

RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS, BEWARE OF THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES! The employee's I spoke with, salesperson and nursery manager, indicated by their attitude they really don't care if you patronize them or not, and it shows in the treatment they give earnest, year-round desert residential customers like my family. I passed at least four other nurseries to go to them, spent an hour with their salesperson looking around this big nursery by golf car and asking what I believed were intelligent questions, and finally selected two plants which were about $120.00. When I tried to pay they told me their credit card system was down due to electrical problems. I told the salesperson to please hold the two plants, TAG THEM AS "SOLD", and I would be back tomorrow when the credit card system was running. He ("Cory") fully agreed to this. An hour later I called Vintage Nursery and reaffirmed I wanted the two plants, please hold them, TAG AS "SOLD" and I would return as noted earlier. They agreed fully to do this. The next day the salesperson calls my home and blythely tells me "We sold those two plants this morning so they're gone. We'll get some more if you still want them, but we don't know when." I had already arranged to have my gardener come over and plant them for us, and he is very difficult to track down and secure. I spoke with the Nursery Manager, "Paul", but his attitude, quite surprising in the intensely competitive nursery world which now includes stores like Lowe's and Home Depot as well as other nurseries, was "You do what you want. The plants are gone and we can try to get some more but we don't know when." They told me they had previously sold the two plants, but I suspect that someone came in that morning with cash in hand, and Vintage staff sold the plants to the guy with cash in hand rather than wait for me who was promised the plants later that day. 'A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush' as they say, but I believe a deal and a handshake should be good, I tried to pay but their system was out, and I even called to reaffirm I wanted the plants. So Buyer Beware, these guys WILL sell stuff out from under you, and their attitude is 'Take us or leave us, we don't care' , even though we are year-round residents with big grounds that need lots of plants, and I have purchased A LOT of plants at Vintage over the past seven years. I just do it quietly, don't make a big fuss, and get in and get out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VINTAGE BURSERY BECAUSE OF WHAT ARE, IN MY OPINION, DECEPTIVE AND UNACCEPTABLE RESIDENTIAL BUSINESS PRACTICES. They make promises and them break them unilaterally after a verbal contract. read more

Went there for the first time planning to reserve 18 plants that my landscape contractor would pick up the next day. As he gets a good discount, I agreed to go there. I was there for 5 minutes the owner or manager walked by into a private office and ignored me. I asked the cashier if she could look up prices and inventory, she comes across as someone who doesn't like her job (no smile, low energy). They were so short staffed, that there was no one who could drive me around in the 107 heat to pick out plants. No one seemed to give good customer service. I drove all the way from my house (20 minutes each way) to learn a great lesson, I will not shop there again. Do yourself a big favor and go to Bob Williams Nursery where they are so nice and helpful to homeowner customers. read more

Customer service here is exceptional! I bout a dwarf Meyer Lemon tree ( 2ft box) for $250.00. It was gorgeous. In box for 2 weeks, it started looking yellow. So I planted it ASAP. But it got worse. The majority turned yellow. I was sick over it. I emailed the manager. We communicated about it. Initially he thought it was too much water. But I let him know that wasn't the case. I just moved and I don't have a sprinkler system in place. So I asked for more help as it was under the 30 day warranty. He actually came out to my house for free to help me. It was planted abut 4 inches too deep. So with this correction I hope it makes it. If not, I'm under warranty. read more

Our gardener suggested we check out Vintage Nursery for a landscaping project in our backyard. What a neat place with a great selection of plants as well as excellent customer service. On our first visit we were looking for vines to plant on the side of our house. Sandy was a big help: we appreciated her expertise on picking the right vines for our north facing wall. They also have a ton of cute garden art, pottery and fountains. To top it off, we unlocked a 10% coupon off our entire purchase, awesome! The staff is nice and very friendly. I agree with other reviews where the staff is helpful and will take you all around to find plants and fountains. But the overall customer service is horrible- starting at the top. We have had issues on several items and when we call in the manager would ignore or avoid our calls because he (Joe) didn't want to deal with it. And they have messed up the scheduling so the deliveries are late- to find out the guys were given the wrong information.... and the manager blames them. Just a poorly managed operation. Too bad because they have a nice selection but it is just not worth the hassle. Many other options in the desert with far better customer service. I would encourage you to shop around as they can all deliver similar products. read more

If you want to pay top dollar for really poor customer service, then this is the place for you. We have endured service appointments where the crew never showed up at the appointed time and we were never even given so much as a courtesy call after waiting around all day. When we called for an explanation, we got 2 totally different stories depending on who we spoke with, so someone is not to be believed. We've endured late service calls where the crew showed up hours after the scheduled time, also without so much as a call that the crew was running late. We've unfortunately purchased a product that was defective and we are stuck with them waiting for a warranty repair, otherwise I would never deal with them again in my lifetime. We also were billed by them for service that we never ordered and was never performed, someone just billed us based on an estimate! Despite the many calls I've made to complain about this unacceptable customer service, you would think the owner or someone who cares would call us, but so far, just silence, so I can only assume they don't really care about the small homeowner order, or at least not ours. read more

It's a good size nursery with plants, planters, garden art, and some indoor items. The nursery is really cute and well organised, but the staff is not the friendliest or very knowledgeable. I've been passed around a few times from one person to another there trying to get information. The people don't seem happy there, but if you can see beyond that it's a really nice nursery. read more

My experience was similar to Pauly's except for the bad part at the end. An employee listened to us when we described what we were doing at the house and what types of plants we were seeking, then he proceeded to drive us around the nursery in the golf cart. He spent a good 30 to 40 minutes with us noting our selections before dropping us off at the office/cashier. (The electricity was working great that day) After he returned with our plants, we paid while he loaded up our truck. For me, that was a pretty good nursery experience, and I plan to continue purchasing from Vintage in the future. read more

We just had a landscaping project at our house and we couldn't be happier with Vintage Nursery. CEO Greg, landscaper Lin, and Lin's crew are the best. Lin's designing abilities are wonderful. She listens to your ideas, presents her own and works within your budget. The project took 2 weeks and they were here when they said they would be; they worked hard and always left for the day with a clean job site. This is a beautiful nursery. It's out of the way but worth checking out. I have recommended them to friends. I had a fountain delivered and installed by them and that went fine however they forgot to leave the pump cover. I called and spoke with them, they had the part. I arranged for them to bring it but we had a communication breakdown. They assumed I was coming to pick it up. I called again. Made arrangements for a new delivery time...they dropped it over the fence without telling me. I think this business is pretty good but their customer service is not to my standards. Would I use them again, yes. Would I use them for a larger purchase that required additional services, no. Please go see them though, they are really special. ...wrong cover, it doesn't fit. Went to the store and explained the problem...it's on the truck. We'll call you when it gets back. Four hours later, no phone call. They can't find it and have to order a new one..more to come. read more
