A closet put in and a year later shelving and door knobs still not installed. New bathroom addition, the lock fell out of the door so no privacy in the bathroom for 6 months. New window installed in living room and trim never installed. 4 months later? Wood scrap and garbage left in the yard over two years later. New cement floor that was poured in the living room with cement splatter all over the walls. No accountability with these guys. Shame on you for treating an elderly couple this way. My folks were way too kind to be negotiating with these snakes. Kept coming back asking for more money for stuff that had already been negotiated and contracted. We told Alvord Builders we would not be signing the addendum, or having them build for us. Alvord Builders maintains no wrong doing, claims we don't understand the contract language, and that we were suppose to just trust them. In trying to recover at least a portion of our deposit we were told that they would not return any of the deposits from the construction contract or the lot, and that if we wrote any reviews about them that they would sue us. This confirms for us that we made the right decision. We are out close to $8,000 in deposits and bank fees because we wouldn't give Alvord Builders the right to change the purchase price at will. I kindly asked them to put masks on, seeing as my pregnant wife is in the next room. They reluctantly obliged. 5 minutes later, Tom, the owner, was wearing the mask on his head. My wife asked him politely to put it over his face. He then became very combative and said that the masks don't do anything, and that its "To hot to wear". Even though I have central AC, and it was 68 degrees in the house. I then told him that if he refused to wear the mask, we really didn't feel comfortable and maybe they shouldn't do the work. He then became even more aggressive and said "OK, ill be fine" and then proceeded to arrogantly laugh and leave. He was the most disrespectful and condescending contractor I have ever dealt with.
