I didn't think we would stumble upon a winery in Colorado, but of course, when you're traveling with my mom and I, there will be wine to drink. There was a musician setting up to play, when we arrived. We tried a variety of wine and they were good. We couldn't buy any of it though, since we were traveling cross country in a plane, but it was nice to see what the other side of the country had to offer in crushed grapes. Their dry and semi-dry wines were good.

4 tastings for $5 Or complimentary tasting with purchase of a bottle

OK, let's keep it real folks: Colorado wine is most definitely a thing, and winemakers have their work cut out for them here. The terrain/terroir isn't the easiest and the finished result isn't quite as refined compared to other well-known regions. Give the Coloradans some time and be open minded. Good things come to those who wait. Vino Salida was waaaaay better than I had expected. It's definitely not Santa Barbara or Sonoma quality... yet. But it's got its own local charm. The tasting room situated in the valley catches the eye from Highway 50 on the edge of town. Easy to park and very welcoming. A tasting of four wines is $5 per person or free if you buy a bottle. There are some sweeter varietals as well as honey mead, but if you look carefully at the tasting notes on the menu, there's drier wines to try as well. Younger wines do have a "bite" to them, which does mellow out with time. If you're tasting a 2017, understand that it needs another year or so to mature. Or at least an aeration device. I love that some of their wines come in a pouch, which ends up being more vino and an earth friendly vessel. We ended up taking home a bag of white wine and a bottle of red. The plan is to wait for spring temps for bag wine and let the red age just a wee bit. Such nice people working the tasting room and a very cool setting to give Colorado wine a chance.

Hidden gem! Great snacky food, live music on Saturday's which is when we happened to stumble in. Great conversation to be found at the bar with locals, and very knowledgeable staff!

We loved it here! Came 2 nights in a row and both times fabulous. The staff is amazing and both nights we enjoyed ourselves and the wines! My husband appreciated the beer selection as well. Can't wait to come back

Good wine great service!!

Having never tried Colorado Wines before, but being a huge fan of the "grape" we decided to give this little place a shot and were really glad we did. A big shout out to fellow yelpers or we may have missed this gem. The tasting room was well appointed and the wine, mead, and vermouth choices were many. I'm a dry red guy so I limited myself to a glass of the Tenderfoot Stomp Merlot and it far exceeded my expectations. My fellow traveler enjoyed the tasting with 2 Whites,1 Red and a vermouth, and thought they were all top-notch. I believe that Colorado wines will be a thing, and are glad we got to experience them. Cant close out without acknowledging the service and information provided by Nina, which just improved the overall experience..!! Best of luck to VSWC !!

Vino Salida was a great stop on our trip from New Mexico to Denver. I didn't drink any of the wine (I was the designated driver *sad face*), but my family did and said it was delicious. There was five of us and we were well taken care of, even though there was only one man working behind the counter and two other people in the shop. It was very spacious, and although it had a more sit-down area, everyone was around the counter. They also had outdoor seating. While the rest of my family tried the wines, my partner and I opted to play several rounds of Cornhole outside. It's a great addition to a winery and definitely made it more fun (I'm sure it would've been better with some wine in our systems!). The guy who helped my family out was super friendly, chatty, and attentive. The place was spotless, well decorated (but not overly decorated), and the view was really nice.

Super relaxed and nice vibe. Live music, cozy feel and very friendly staff! The wines are well priced and pretty high quality. A nice spot to spend the afternoon!

Good experience. Some good wines and great atmosphere. Wines are made from Colorado grown grapes. 2013 Tender Foot Stomp Syrah is great.

Beautiful grounds, with such great outdoor seating and things for kids to do as well. The owner was outside when we seated ourselves, and he shared his story and told us a bit about the winery. The process, grapes and how they run it. Great guy and very dedicated! It's a lot to do in retirement but they seem to be enjoying it. His wife came out to ask us about tastings , which they do for free! All 12 on the list. The reds were better, I'm just not a white drinker. The whites I was told were sweeter. Pretty good pours too! Great to try so many. The Syrah was my favorite. The price of the bottle was only $21. I got a glass as she gave me so many tastings. We bought a bottle too. They also give you little snack bags which was a nice gesture, little crackers. Inside they had some little gifts things, cute stuff. Loved how clean it was and they were so organized and quick , better service than a lot of bigger wineries I've been to .Sometimes the smaller the better!!

You can go in and buy their wine or have tastings. Plus, they generally have a food truck there or an option to buy some charcuterie. The atmosphere is wonderful. Quiet & beautiful. A couple tables inside (they have to social distance) and a few outside. We did a tasting and went home with the house red and a white. There are definitely some wines that are very different. The wines were not all my taste, but I loved the overall experience. A great one to try if you are in town. Added note: this is the only place to buy their wines, so if you like them, get them when you go!
