I am not a wine snob by all means but this wine was very much vinegary. Might as well drink apple cider vinegar straight! Wow not a fan!

August 6, 2026 - Penrose, CO…read more We spotted the roadway sign for this winery on our way to the Royal Gorge Bridge and decided we had to stop on the way back. So glad we did. We were warmly welcomed, along with our pup, and decided to do a tasting. For just $5, we got five 1-ounce pours of our choice. They have a nice selection of wines, a comfortable tasting room, and a super-friendly host. Of course, tasting led to shopping, and three bottles of wine came home with us. The wines were very reasonably priced. A fun, welcoming little winery that was well worth the stop.

Charming Countryside Winery!…read more What a find! This place is like if the show, Cheers, took place at a winery. The endearing personalized wine glasses hung on the wall, each with the "nickname" of its patron took this place to a new level for me. We got to witness a local couple come in for a sip. The owner grabbed their wine glasses and was ready to pour their choice before they barely got through the door. The wine selection had something for any wine lovers passion. I am partial to a sweet wine and enjoyed quite a few of their offerings. We got a charcuterie board to munch on with our wine tasting and it was plentiful and filling. The owner is very personable and knows his stuff. Will be making this winery a regular stop when I come to Colorado to visit family.

From the odd numbered booths you can see the river and the sloping walls of the gorge. The even side had the gorge wall most of the way. Food is very good with fresh ingredients and nice flavors. If you purchase online with the ticket you get a free beverage. We had wine which was very nice. The mocktail pina colada was fantastic! We sat in the domed cars which gave a much better view of the scenery. There is an open air car that is available if you want to stand and experience the wind in your hair. We spent a total of approximately two and a half hours. We would definitely ride it again. Tip: there is a huge gift shop you walk through before boarding the train. This is after the gift shop where you pick up the tickets.

An absolute must-do when you are visiting Colorado. Breathtaking scenery and our server, Dylan was so attentive and respectful! Loved hearing his knowledge on the area. Our boys had a lot of fun! The view from the open-top rail cars was amazing and priceless! We had some Once in a lifetime views. We loved seeing the highest suspension bridge in North America and the whitewater rafters floating along the Arkansas River.

We really enjoyed the wine flight, especially the last two selections--they were our favorites. We loved the pomegranate red so much that we bought two bottles to take home. I think we were the only patrons at the time. Our server Elizabeth was very friendly and attentive. We were not planning on tasting any wine as we were on a road trip but she mentioned the tastings were small so decided to share a flight. We chose reds. The wine was primarily sweet so not our preference but it was fine. My husband ordered THE SANTA FE / 22 Scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, bacon, onions and pork green chili. It was quite tasty. I will say $22 for a single burrito with no sides is pricy. I ordered SMAVO TOAST / 18 Two over-medium eggs seasoned avocado on freshly toasted artisan bread accompanied by blistered tomatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly but the avocado was just spread on a thick sourdough roll cut in half. It was way too thick and needed toasted. It had 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half. It just needed more seasoning and maybe some micro greens or something added. And again, $18 for just avocado toast is just too expensive. However, we were very impressed the chef came out to ask us about our meal and asked for feedback. I provided feedback on the SMAVO and she was super receptive. Very nice and professional. This place looks like it has great reviews so I think their main menu must be on point. I appreciate the customer service!
