Even upon MY efforts to lead a friendly conversation and thorough appointment, my BASIC requests and questions seemed to be a nuisance to Dr Lyalin. I walked back in to ask to speak with him privately. Needless to say he was Super annoyed. Really, I had forgotten the whole reason I went was to ask about my wisdom tooth.. Which he later told me he saw an issue with in the x-ray but did not tell me. Finally, after humbly expressing Dr. Lyalin that I was a bit unhappy with my experience, His response was (points to his files) "I HAVE HUNDREDS OF OTHER HAPPY PATIENTS, SO IF ONE IS UNHAPPY, THAT DOES NOT MATTER" (He began to rant as I just looked at him and I won't mention the other things that were said to me) ..He proceeded to wave me out. Needless to say a TERRIBLE way to treat a new patient. Very unwelcoming, more interested in getting me out of the chair, than educating me on my dental health, as a true physician does for his patients. It has been wonderful to move on to another dentist who I find much more professional and engaged compared with Josh Wilges. By way of background, I was a patient of Dr. Josh Wilges for several years - until about two years ago when I sought out another dentist because of the profound unprofessionalism with which this practice operates. Let me enumerate the salient problems I encountered: #1 Insurance Issues: I found out from the office during the first week of January 202_ that they would no longer accept my insurance, that they had accepted for the past several years. I could have switched insurances to another provider who they do take had they only informed me a couple of weeks earlier in December of the prior year. I attempted on multiple occasions to phone and email the "manager" Adam (he is actually just Josh Wilges' husband and seems at best minimally competent and does not respond to phone calls) to figure out a resolution or a preferred insurance plan for the future. He would not return calls or emails or provide the necessary information. #2 Dr. Joshua Wilges as a No-Show: For three different appointments, I would book them with "Dr Joshua Wilges," who had been my dentist for several years at the point. When I would show up, Dr. Joshua Wilges was always in Texas not New York and it was a subcontractor providing services; the office would never let me know ahead of time about this "switcheroo" but it was a constant tactic for move than a year form what I heard from other patients and based on my own experiences. As someone who works in medical care, I can say that it is PROFOUNDLY unethical to advertise that you will provide services, while subcontracting out to another provider who is cheaper and collecting a profit. This is dental/medical ethics 101. Please know that if you book an appointment with Dr. Josh Wilges, you will likely never see the man. #3 Names: In medicine and dentistry, naming conventions should be parallel. If Josh Wilges is going to be "Dr. Wilges" then address me as "Mr. H_______." The office staff, however, will repeatedly and resolutely address you only by first name as if you are in kindergarten, while making a huge deal out of you calling Josh "Dr. Wilges" --- this is yet again totally unprofessional. This was at one point an excellent practice. It is not now. Dr. Josh Wilges is totally checked out and you will likely never see him for services you book with him. Furthermore, the manager Adam will refuse to contact you or discuss problems or other issues. Run from this unprofessional, unethical dentist's practice.

I came to Lisa Handler through my insurance, which is Aetna Dental and she is conveniently located near my office. Her office is the DDS Group and the majority of the people that are patients are people that work in the area, so they gear their office hours to provide times during lunchtime, before and after work. The office is very clean and they run on a timely fashion. They have several other dentists and specialists that work there so if you need work that overlaps, they have someone right in the office. My dentist, Lisa Handler, is really nice, which is good except that I want to be able to hate my dentist but I can't because she really makes it hard to hate her. She is extremely patient and took her time with me on several occasions (and that is a treat considering I came from a dental office that was run more like a sweat shop factory). Her room is extremely clean and they place music while she works on you. Her assistants are always very nice. They never made me feel bad about my condition or the work I had to have done. Ms. Handler also has a lot of experience and is virtually pain free. The only pain that I experience is when I got my shot of Novocaine (which is minor) and I never had any problems post procedure (again a nice relief considering I got an infection from the previous dentist I went to). Although I have insurance, the insurance does not cover everything and I feel that she made a good effort to try and make the charges fair. The checkout woman who take your payment are really nice and they are very efficient with telling you what your insurance covers and what it does not. I would highly recommend Lisa Handler for dental work.

I should begin this review by saying that I've had extensive work done here, and unfortunately a great deal of different procedures at other dentists and periodontists in NYC and Florida. Dr. Moskowitz is a dream dentist. He's as upbeat as he can be, yet he never sugarcoats the situation. He will answer endless questions, and never seems frustrated or irritated. I don't like dentists, and I am kind of a wuss when it comes to pain, but he is unfailingly gentle, and will stop and administer more anesthetic in the middle of a procedure if the patient wants it. I cannot say enough about my experience with him, and with his assistant, who also went to dental school, Dora. They are an amazing team, and I trust them completely. Why? I read some previous reviews about unnecessary work ordered, but I had all different options and price points discussed with me, and wasn't pushed toward the most expensive option. My father made the same decision to have a permanent bridge put in, and his dentist (in Florida) was not as good as Advanced Dental Care - he gets food caught under it and it irritates his gums. My bridge fits so well that I feel like it's nearly my natural teeth. They didn't rush to cement it in, but used temporary paste, until I was sure that the fit was absolutely correct. So why not 5 stars? They are EXPENSIVE. I have dental insurance, and with the insurance that they take, I'm still paying tens of thousands of dollars out of my own pocket. I know that there are less expensive dentists out there, but I've decided that the thoroughness and expertise that I have experienced here are worth the money. After all, it is your mouth, and I don't know about you, but I like eating. They make sure that they accommodate my schedule, and after hearing my dad complain about the dental work that he had done, I think it is ABSOLUTELY worth the cost.

Extremely long wait after appointment time to be seen, and the administration is horribly managed. This place is terrible. I went to get my wisdom teeth removed. The consultation was standard and everything went fine. They verified that I was qualified for a loan and repayment plan but then I received a letter in the mail after my surgery saying that I did not qualify for the extended repayment plan despite being assured before my surgery that I was. They had me sign up for a plan that caused me financial stress under false pretenses. They called to reschedule my surgery twice which caused confusion with my job because I had to request time off for the surgery and then change it, twice. When I arrived for my surgery, I had to wait an hour and half to be seen by the surgeon whose assistant did not follow her instructions to x ray me while I waited, causing more of a delay. The guy before me had been waiting for two hours. The surgery itself went fine. They have very capable doctors. But so do A LOT of other dental offices. I received IV sedation and it was very fast. The big issue with this place is the management and administration. It is VERY poorly managed. They sent my scripts to the wrong pharmacy (TWICE!) and it took a few hours after my surgery to get them. Also, I requested an itemized receipt for my surgery both before and after my procedure. Was initially told hey can't give that to me until after the procedure. Then on 10/12 when I followed up I was told it would take a day to get to me. It's 10/17 and I still don't have my itemized receipt and they have not called me back. This is what I wonder: 1. I asked for an itemized receipt before my surgery and they said that they could not provide this until after the surgery because that's when they would be able to calculate the totals. 2. If that's the case why did they give me a solid price (the wording was, verbatim "the surgery will cost $2400". It was a definitive statement and not a quote) and have me sign up for a loan and repayment plan based on this amount if they can't actually calculate the totals until after the procedure? 3. Why are they unable to supply an itemized receipt when requested? Why don't they already have this information calculated and on file? Why won't they return my calls about this? Why are they being so shady about this? I am concerned that this place takes advantage of those who need dental work and who may be economically vulnerable, in a lot of pain, and who may be desperate to get this work done. I sincerely regret using Brooklyn Dental and besides my follow up, will never see them again.

Saw two other dentist who confirmed from previous X-ray taken same day before tooth was drilled there was no cavity at all. My advice go elsewhere.

She raved about how gifted Dr Manfredi's artistry is and how kind, honest and personable he is.A first time patient, I went for repair of a broken crown. Dr Manfredi treated me like a VIP! He is by far the classiest dentist/doctor I have ever met and one of the smartest and nicest people I have ever interacted with. Instead of replacing the crown at a substantial cost to me, he polished the tooth for a nominal cost and sent me on my way. I don't know anyone in NYC with such an ethical and generous nature especially given I was a stranger with no history at his practice. Having had a lot of dental work over the last 20 years with many of the 'top' dentists in NYC, I especially appreciated his assessment of my situation and found his vast knowledge of crowns and the options I had to rectify my problem truly impressive.
