Bidder/Buyer Review: 3.5 Stars…read more If you can get past the HORRIBLE clientele and some of the snooty staff, a Doyle viewing can be a nice way to pass the afternoon. I've stopped by for both their Provident Loan lockbox and Important Jewelry showings as well as some furniture/art viewings. Doyle isn't Christie's and it isn't trying to be. They cater to an older clientele and I'll be honest, some of the stuff is hideous. However, if you can look past the obvious duds, there are some real hidden gems here - no pun intended. Shopping at Doyle takes a keen eye and a good idea what you want. Many of the listings for diamond jewelry don't come with GIA or other detailed reports so you are best advised to do your homework and bring a jeweler's loupe. Appraisals and actual sale prices can vary wildly but unlike some of the major auction houses, you can sometimes find beautiful pieces that don't get bid up like crazy. Two of my favorite pieces that I wear almost daily are from Doyle and I get constant compliments. If you have an open mind and time to do some research, this can be a great resource for discerning buyers. However, I must say that coming into the showroom is a mixed experience. The full-time employees are friendly for the most part but the people they hire can be shockingly rude and easily flustered. I gather they must deal with some awful, entitled specimens in this venue, but is it really necessary to be so snippy? And yes, the visitors can be unnecessarily elitist and throw off weird vibes if you are younger.

When painting arrived at NYC Doyle they lowered the reserve price by 80%. Completely unprofessional and dishonest. One and five thumbs downs .

It was my first experience with Treasure Chest Estate Sales and I can say it was one of the best…read moreexperiences ever. Amazing at everything starting with the beautiful, polite, and professional staff. Their team member was in every room and when I had a question regarding the stuff they were selling, I was getting a detailed description of an item. The staging was professional and very organized. The prices were reasonable, all the items were priced with clear price tags, just some of them were missing the tags, but team members who were working in every room were very helpful in providing prices and descriptions of an item. The company offers moving services for purchased items and it was very helpful for me when they delivered a piece of furniture that I bought. They were very professional with Covid guidelines. Taking temperatures to every attendee, providing sanitizers, gloves, masks, and shoe covers. All was just perfect!

PROS: The company seems to run very professionally and is attentive to Covid guidelines. They only allowed a few people in at a time, masks required, good signage, out front, etc. CONS: Most things were not priced to sell so much as they were priced for profit. Also, a staff member was with you in every room kind of hovering (if they weren't initially in the room, they followed you into the room). As a customer, this felt awkward and uncomfortable.

Anyway she asked if her & a friend could look at merchandice which consisted of alot of costume jewelry. They came & looked thru stuff picked out some jewelry & 2 7" Tiffeny&Co. candlesticks & aTiffany&Co pouch containing a new bracelit that is inscribed with If found please return to Tiffany&Co. 925 on front. anyway i sold 2 candlesticks to other women for $30 thinking they were only worth $52 on her phone & I sold bracelet to dealer for $50 not knowing there true worth. Afterwards I went on Tiffany&Co. website to check the prices feeling suspicious. The candlesticks were actually worth $200 & bracelet $250. I called dealer to get them or get more money for them. She brought back candlesticks ok but when it came to bracelet she brought back one in an old blue pouch. It was so tarnished you could hardly read the inscription insisting it was mine. She refuses to return my brand new one back. They also purchased some costume jewelry & 2 vintage perfume decanters. But she asked to see sterling silver jewelry i had downstairs which was a mistake on my part leaving them alone. They put together a small bag of jewelry which I'm sure is not all they took. But I have no proof. This dealer is highly unscrupulous &devias I wouldn't recommend her to sell anything of value for me. So please heed my warning before choosing this co.to liquidate your estate!!!
