Tina was great! However-the "manager" and other employee were not. Asked for an eyebrow cleanup and not a wax, yet was waxed anyways. It was too late once the wax hit my eyebrows and hardened. I told three employees I only wanted to be plucked, etc. and even told the tech while in there. Talk about defiance and doing things her way. I came here to get my nails done. I've had a pedicure here before and they did a good job, but did a horrible job on my nails. I should've known it was not a good place when I was the only person there. I got dip nails and she made them so thick. I also told her I wanted them cut down and square round shape and she proceeded to file them square. There were nats flying around everywhere and her instruments had not been cleaned. There was also a long hair in the dip. She kept messing up my nails and having to go back and fix them. Finally, after an hour and 45 min I asked if she was almost done and she said "why? Do you want to leave?" And I said yes I live an hour away. She then proceeded to rush. For that amount of time taken, you would think they would've turned out better. I've been looking for a great nail salon that not only took the time to execute my vision for my nails but also had the heart and passion for their craft. I am not exaggerating. This is not a paid post. This is my 100% honest review. I have never experienced a nail salon that had such a friendly atmosphere, who have people who have a heart and the love to serve people. Next week is my birthday and I am not honestly type to celebrate it on my own accord. These are nails that were way out of my comfort zone but I thank God for Amy and the other very nice gentleman(I couldn't remember his name but he has also has a heart of gold) who listened to my idea and utilized it to make it fit me. They listened and they cared. You don't how much that MATTERS! They were unconditionally sweet. They listened to the fact that I don't celebrate my birthday often but they cared and wanted to make sure I have a great birthday. I came in around 6:25. The shop was suppose to close at 7 and I arrived almost an hour late for my appointment. However, they still saw me anyways and Amy worked on my nails to make sure they were perfect! Amy and the gentleman stayed until almost 9:45 so Amy can finish my nails. She didn't have to do that. They didn't have to stay that late. They did it because they genuinely CARED and I felt that love from God! I left in tears because I finally was able to achieved something for myself that was able help me utilize my goal for self love. Amy and the entire staff at Vina Nails are a best kept treasure in the Hermitage-Nashville area. Amy & the whole staff are honestly absolute blessings! Amy has a passion for her craft! Was recommended this place by a neighbor for a pedi but I will not be returning. I wasn't offered a complimentary drink which is listed on their menu of services on the counter (Mirage nails offered me that first thing!), at the end I was told to sit there for 15 minutes and then I could put my shoes and socks back on, what the heck??! They didn't use toe separators or offer flip flops. When I noticed another customer's tech gave her flip flops, I asked a nearby technician who was working on someone else, interrupting their work. I was amazed that I wasn't taken to a dryer or asked if I liked the color or anything. I also suspect I did not get a double coat. I never saw my tech afterward...no "thanks for coming in", "have a good day", nothing. I always tip $20 b/c I know many techs are new to the country and can use the money, but not this time. Vina Nails lost a potential long-time customer b/c i only live a mile away, but I will be driving a little further to Mirage Nails where you feel like an honored guest compared to this place. read more

They did a good job with my nails, but I won't go back. While I was there they took a call from a group of three who wanted pedicures. I thought to myself "Oh, I hope they don't do that horrible thing some salons do and make me wait for my service because I'm just one person. Sure enough, after my manicure I was taken to a pedicure station where I was left to wait. The group arrived shortly after that, and they were accommodated right away. I waited so long the water turned ice cold and my feet shriveled up. I had arrived at 5:15. At 7:10 I gave up and left. I explained why I was leaving. The woman who rang me up said "They went first because they had an appointment." Yes. An appointment that I heard them take after I had already been waiting in person for 15 minutes. They would rather lose my business than the group's. So they skipped me and hoped I wouldn't notice. But I did, so they lost a new customer. The thing that salons don't seem to think about is that solo customers get services with groups of friends, too. But I won't be going to this place alone or with my friends. My daughter went to get a full set and pedicure for prom. There were other people there being offered water, soft drinks wine. Understand my daughter is under the drinking age but the offer of a soda or water would have been nice. No one even attempted conversation with her. The full set was not what she asked for and she has small scratches on her feet. I used to go them a couple of years ago and was mostly satisfied. That's why I sent her there. I went with my mother for a mani/pedi afternoon. We arrived ten minutes before our appointment and waited about 20-30 minutes. Our pedicures were fine, although my mother noticed when we got in our car that one of her toes was already chipped so we went back in and they fixed it for her. We both got dip for our manicures. I was originally planning to get gel but the nail tech assured me dip would last "much, much longer." Three days later, four nails are chipped. I didn't get any length added. I haven't been doing anything crazy. This is unbelievably poor quality for the money! I won't be returning and I cannot recommend. read more

Showed up at 9:30 and walked into a dark salon. Called out and even called on the phone while there and got no answer. After 10 minutes, I see a man come from the back and turn on the lights. Gut instinct told me to leave, yet I stayed because someone recommended this place to me. I picked my color and sat down for my pedicure. I was told it'd be an extra $5 to remove my gel polish. It literally took him almost half an hour to finish getting the polish off. I've never had anyone take more than 5 minutes or so! I'd told him I like my nails short and straight across. He never clipped them; only filed. He worked the nippers down the sides of my nails and nipped my skin a few times. I'm hoping I don't end up with ingrown toenails among other things. I believe he said his name was Andrew. He used dirty files and foot scrubs. I was disgusted and completely uncomfortable. He'd used gloves for the pedicure, and must have removed them during painting. When I looked down, I noticed his thumbs appeared to be bloody. His massage was about 1 minute long, but that was okay with me because, once again, I felt very uncomfortable and disgusted. It was the worst pedicure I've ever gotten and was definitely not relaxing. Not sure how other employees are here, but this man needs lessons in all areas...sanitizing, massage, painting, cutting, etc. read more

I preface this review by saying, Shame on Me. I have had a "deluxe" pedicure at this establishment which left my shins bruised. That same day (before bruising was apparent) I had a manicure, where they proceeded to butcher my cuticles with some dull clippers. I needed some waxing done (underarms) before my vacation and only had a small window of opportunity on Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago. My regular wax artist wasn't available in such short notice so I remembered that my sister had said this place did body hair waxing as well. I entered, asked if they did waxing, was told yes, and they motioned for me to peruse their service "menu", until someone could attend me. I did so. I noted that they had a great price of $20 for underarm waxing and $10 for eyebrow. When approached by the lady who would do my waxing I told her I wanted both of those services. She was very friendly and efficient. When it was time to pay for the services I was informed that the price is listed PER ARMPIT, YEP THAT IS RIGHT THE PRICE OF $20 IS PER-ARM. I asked who in the world gets ONE armpit waxed, they said no one but that is how they show their prices. At first I thought they were joking! When I put up a fuss they offered me a 10% discount! Being a Christian - I paid, tipped accordingly, and silently promised myself to let EVERYONE know about this DECEPTIVE PRACTICE and Poor Business Etiquette! Fool me once, shame on you. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews but left very disappointed. First of all, they charged me $15 more than the going rate for the same service everywhere else in the Nashville area--I was robbed and was rather shocked when she told me how much it was. Secondly, it took the technician more than twice as long as it normally should. Finally, the technician kept trying to tell me my nails were dry when they clearly weren't, and they were getting completely smudged when she kept rubbing them to show me how dry they were. I asked her to re-do the worse nails, then finally gave up and left because I could tell they were rushing me out and wanted to leave (which wouldn't have been an issue if it hadn't taken an extra 1.5 hours to do my nails). It was a waste of my time and money, and I will be going elsewhere to have them fixed tomorrow. read more

I used to really like this place, but the last few times, my nails looked horrible, even on the same day as the manicure. Cuticles were never treated right and they even cut my hands a few times. On my last visit, I got a gel manicure, a pedicure, and an eyebrow wax, all of which totals $80 on their "menu." When it came time to pay, they charged me $90 with no explanation.
