We had a beautiful time at this winery in Stouffville!…read more Such a random location but a real gem. The winery grounds are beautiful, there's an amazing patio wrapped around the building with stunning views of the winery. You truly feel like you're in wine country or even in the Italian countryside when you're here. We wanted to do a tasting and we were told to go find a seat outside and someone would be assisting us. We noticed that there was a separate area for people who pre-reserved lunch. I think it's a pre-set menu and it's catered by the McEwan company. The food coming out looked really tasty! We asked if they had a food menu as we were looking for a charcuterie board or something to snack on while tasting the wine, however they do not have a food menu unless you reserve in advance. Although this was a bit of a bummer, the server told us she would bring us some snacks for the wine tasting. As the lunch seating was taking place, the servers were quite busy however our server apologized for the wait and was really nice. We each had the 4 wine tasting flights and were able to choose 4 wines from their extensive list. I tried their sparkling wine, rose, a red and a white and they were pleasant but not the most amazing wines I've ever had. I liked the flavour profile of the rose and the sparkling was really light and crisp. The white and red were just OK for me. The server was knowledgeable and helped to offer suggestions based on my preferences. As promised, she also brought us some bowls with chips, nuts and dried fruit, and tarali. These were great for munching on as well as palate cleansers between the wines. I particularly enjoyed the ambiance of this winery. On a beautiful breezy summer day, it was absolute heaven sitting out on the patio and sampling some tasty wines. I would love to come for a meal one day however they only serve lunch at this time. We even had the owner come over and chat with us for a while to make sure we were enjoying our time. The wines in the retail portion of the winery are super reasonable, I don't think any wines were over $20. This is a nice way to support local business without breaking the bank. Overall this is a wonderful way to spend an hour or so. The flight of wine was only $10 and the wines are also inexpensive to purchase so this makes for an affordable afternoon out. I loved the views and European feel of the winery; it truly made me feel like I was far away without having to step on a plane!

The fork was sticky and had fingerprints. I had to ask the waitress to change it to a clean one. I should have taken that as a sign. Next, the menu had suggested wine pairings, so when we ordered the pasta, I went with the suggested Chardonnay. To my surprise, the waitress said they don't have one. I was going to ask why bother including the suggested pairing when it's not available, but I didn't bother. I ordered a bottle of white wine, and the server just placed it on the table and didn't even bother pouring a glass. No tasting, just left the bottle on the table, as if saying you're on your own! So we ordered the antipasto platter, the cured meats looked like the packaged cold cuts from a grocery store and the cheese didn't even include any soft cheese. Instead of crackers they served churros like bread sticks which tasted like oily sugarless donuts. We also ordered the pasta with artichokes- it was bland. Thank goodness for the Parmesan cheese that was brought to our table by mistake. The pizza was the only saving grace. It wasn't worth it, the red plastic chairs gave a cheap vibe on an otherwise classy ambiance. The servers were mostly young people who seemed clueless and were just there for a summer job. This is one of those places I'd add to my WR (won't return) list

Gallucci Winery - They didn't have the Chardonnay that was on the pairing menu. Who knew a winery would have wine out of stock?

On a cold but wonderfully sunny afternoon, we chose to arrange a wine tour at Magnotta Winery. We…read morewere fortunate enough to be led by the amazingly kind and incredibly knowledgeable Michael Ber, Assistant Manager of Retail and Events. The tour was fantastic for SO many reasons... Upon our arrival we were led to the beautiful and bright Awards room, housing the endless awards won by Magnotta for wine and spirits at events all over the continent and beyond. Michael asked questions to narrow down our likes and dislikes, the preliminary to our wine tasting. More about that later :) Our first stop was an information-filled walk-through of the machinery area where the wines are produced and bottled. From there we continued into the basement's Barrel Room where hundreds and hundreds of barrels of wine are stored. Old winemaking machinery added perfectly to the decor, creating an almost museum-like element. The decor all throughout the winery is old-world Italian style which created an authentic, peaceful mood from one space to the next. Once the tour was over, we were invited back into the Awards Room for the fun part... the wine tasting portion of the tour. It was then that each of us was given our personally curated flights consisting of 3 wines to try, each specific to our indicated preferences. We also opted for the complementing charcuterie board and focaccia bread (at a low additional cost) that truly brought out some of the more complex flavors of the wines being sampled. I would recommend this winery and wine tour for anyone who wants to fine tune their wine preferences and flavor profiles. We were never rushed, all questions were answered, and we left far more educated about the world of wine than we ever could have expected! It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and a great reason to indulge in some fantastic wine... not like anyone needs a reason for that!!! Pros: - Location (easy-to find industrial area near major highways) + free parking - Staff (professional & friendly) - Ambiance/Decor - Selection of wines - Taste of wines & food - Prices (of wines, tour & food) Cons: - None

We even tried one if their Vidal Ice Wines - oh my - how absolutely delicious! The staff are all friendly and can direct you to some great wines if you ask. They do not sell at the LCBO so the prices are about 40% cheaper than if they did. They have a great variety, including some beers (they have a brewery on deck). Definitely be back as I saw quite a few interesting wines. They even have their own vodka and brandy.

We ordered our wedding favors from Circling Hawk after doing a quick Google search of "wedding…read morefavor+honey+Toronto." Thanks to Martha Stewart for the idea! They were very easy to work with, including responding to any questions that I had immediately. The favors were a hit at the wedding, especially since it came in cute packaging that included a honey dipper and a little message. They're quite far from where we are, but we had a nice road trip to Oak Ridges on a Saturday morning. It's a small farm that you may miss while driving on Leslie Street. We spoke to the gentleman who also introduced us to mead. I had never heard of it. We were able to try a few flavors and ended up buying a bottle to take home. For anyone getting married and looking for a favor, why not consider honey? Everyone likes it and it's (fairly) unique. Good for: honey, party favors
