I even picked a scarf for my mother in law and Gary gift-wrapped it for us. Super sweet!!! All pieces are hand-picked by his daughter and she's got great taste. Gary said the store is priced for locals, not tourists. Smart!

What a wonderful little concept, and shop!…read more There are multiple stores operating within the same space, which I imagine saves the biz owners on rent and utilities and labor, and offers customers (that's us) a more of a selection on adorable wares to purchase. Win/win. We happened to wander in on Small Biz Saturday, and were able to cover a lot of our holiday shopping for our children (the substantial discount for the day helped was much appreciated, even though the prices were very reasonable for a boutique like this), and pick up a couple things for ourselves as well. Everything is well-curated, and the selection of the kids' stuff in particular is perfect for my daughters, who are probably not alone in their deep devotion to all things pink and sparkly and rainbow and unicorn. We snagged dresses, and pajamas, and backpacks, and hats. Seriously, it's as if the buyer was thinking of us in all her purchases. I also love supporting a great family biz, especially one with the great vibes the owners are giving off. Shout out to Gary, who just seemed like a great dad and grandfather, helping out his daughter with the place. I'm sure she needs it, as I think she's got four kids. We'll be back whenever we're wandering around Saugerties, although I'll have to be careful about bringing my girls in, because they're going to want everything in here.

We visited for the first time today so my wife could shop for something to wear to an upcoming event. The store seems packed with merchandise in two adjacent salesrooms. There were designer names that I had never heard of, but my wife quickly recognized them as those found in higher end boutiques. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of what they sell, and their sale prices are even better. My wife happily walked out with three items in her purchase. We were fortunate to have met the owner, Lea, while checking out. She explained that her store has been open for 23 years in Chatham. When people ask how she can afford to sell her merchandise at the prices marked, she explains that she has a low overhead with it being a family run business and the Chatham building is essentially her warehouse. She also told us, if you don't see a size you are looking for, ask for assistance. She likely has more sizes stored off the sales floor. If you can't make it to Chatham, she explained she also has been selling directly from her website. Attractive prices, and very friendly and welcoming service, the only thing missing is... clothing for us men.

The closest place I could find was Lea's. So off I went, even though it was 2 1/2 hours from the City it was worth the drive and I would highly recommend shopping here. Lea was very helpful and I really appreciated her assistance. The store is jam packed with artsy/fun creative type clothing and Lea really did know where everything was. She helped me find a jumpsuit I had my eye on from looking on-line, as well as pants and tips she though I would like. I'll definitely be back when the summer is over to pick up some new items for the season change if not before!
