Their staff did an admirable job in dealing with a sudden emergency. We were sitting around a big table in their Dearborn Conference Room on Friday when around 6:30pm the area was hit with a power outage. Somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 customers lost power, including the hotel. Whatever happened also affected the hotel generator, because that was knocked out too. No heat, no hot water, no electricity, no internet. The hotel staff did what they could and set up emergency contractor lights in the lobby area and dining area. I'm not sure how, but they were able to serve the traditional Embassy Suites hot breakfast the next morning. My visit got off to a great start, with a big suite room and an excellent check-in experience. Some of our party arrived early and we enjoyed their complimentary Happy Hour drinks and snacks. Their staff was wonderful -especially the food service workers who set up that hot breakfast in dim lighting. One of the guys made me laugh when he said eating breakfast in the cold and dark reminded him of being back in the service!

She informed me of hotel amenities and their hours of operation then directed me to my room. Room was fine, albeit a tad worn. I had a burger in the bar which was very good. Bartender was friendly and efficient. There was a loud, obnoxious woman at the bar who I was able to avoid until I spoke with a man at the bar. Evidently, she was a regular customer. She directed a comment toward me that was factually incorrect and when I attempted to explain to her why, she exploded and started screaming at me. I stepped away, gathered my stuff and waited for my check at the end of the bar farthest from her. She continued screaming at me from across the bar, raving loudly that she would pray for me--which I found particularly bizarre and rather scary. I asked her repeatedly to stop shouting at me. While waiting I had a polite conversation with a man at the end of the bar that I had purposefully placed between she and me. The bartender returned and she finally got her to stop screaming. I paid and left. In the morning at checkout I told the front desk person about my very negative and frightening experience. She apologized and said that they expect people not to "talk politics". I pointed out to her that Fox News was playing on every TV in the lobby and bar and she apologized again. I took the shuttle to the airport. Driver was nice and professional and even tried to help me obtain a cart. Despite other positive aspects of the hotel, I will not be returning to a place that allows crazy people to drink to oblivion then verbally attack other guests.

That said, the front desk, especially Ali, were very understanding of the misunderstanding and worked with me to find a good solution, so I left pleased. ~ Overall, i found the front desk eager to help and very capable.

They had a chaise by the window and a whole book on things to check out around the area. Black out curtains available to block out the sun/privacy. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast experience we had during the trip. They had a nice variety of items to choose from and an omelette station! The area is quiet with plenty of free parking and located within a ten-minute drive of downtown Dearborn and about a five-minute drive from the Henry Ford Museum (highly recommend!). The staff at the front desk were not well trained. Since I am an ihg member sometimes when I book hotels I have to book the rooms in separate transactions then the front desk links the days together to avoid any distribution. I tried to do this at check in but was told I had to wait until tomorrow. The next morning it took 20 minutes and a line started to form. They made me check out of my room and sign new forms to check back in. They also have this special party policy they have you sign which I thought was strange. They should add smoking weed in the hotel to the list since we could smell it several times over our weekend stay. Also the pool was cold so my kids would only swim in it for about 15 minutes. If you want a place more welcoming I would choose another hotel.

The room was clean and spacious. There is a nice fitness room and swimming pool area. The hotel does have a laundry and dryer machine. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and assisted us with any additional questions we had during the stay. There are a lot of eateries and food options closer by at reach and great town. The breakfast was very good and able to satisfy the family. I would definitely stay here again on my visit to Dearborn !!

I use this place for airport parking it's a short distance from the airport and the shuttle makes…read moreit even a better option. The prices are very reasonable. You check in and park your car. The shuttle takes you to your airline. You have to call them in your return to pick you up. It is a pretty convenient way to park and bypass the higher rates for some spots near the airport. The one downside is that it is outdoors. It is one of my preferred places to park.

When I arrived at the airport, I was supposed to be picked up by the hotel shuttle. I was told by the front desk that the shuttle had already left and that it was only about a five-minute drive away. Because it was very cold outside, I asked if I could wait inside the airport and if the driver would come in to get me. I was told the driver would not come inside and that the shuttle had already left. However, it ended up taking about 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive, so the information I was given was not accurate and I was left waiting in the cold much longer than expected. Later that night, the power (hydro) went out at the hotel and the building became extremely cold. The front desk told me they were working on restoring the power, but it never came back on while I was there. Because there was no heat, the room became freezing. I ended up leaving the hotel at around 1:00 AM and going to the airport just to stay warm. I did not even complete my stay because it was too cold to remain in the room. I was traveling alone and had no transportation available to find another hotel in the middle of the night, which made the situation even more stressful. What disappointed me most was the response afterward when I contacted management about the situation. The manager was very abrupt and dismissive and told me I would not be receiving any refund of my points and that I "could have gone to another hotel." The tone of the response made it feel as though my situation and concerns did not matter at all. I understand that unexpected issues like power outages can happen, but guest care and honest communication are extremely important. Leaving guests without heat and then refusing any accommodation afterward is extremely disappointing customer service. I hope Wyndham corporate reviews how this situation was handled.

Then the details emerged. The room was filthy. The light switch near the door had splatters of something on it. The floor was splattered. The chair has unknown substances on them. The counters were visibly filthy. Then the eye travels upwards over dirty walls to see the splatter on the heating. Is it blood? Candle wax? Something else? There was debris and splatter on literally every surface in the room. The sheets were torn. The towels had something on them. The shower curtain was dirty. There was black something (mold?) built up in the shower. The baseboards were coming off and there were bugs. There was hair in the bathroom. The dresser was missing a drawer and the drawers that were there had black debris that looked like bed bug feces. And there was a small dead bug that looked like a bed bug. There was more of this debris and trash in the top drawer. The room was missing a trash can. That is no matter though because it appears that you're supposed to just use the dresser. Housekeeping must have missed that memo because they didn't empty the trash from the prior occupants. They denied a refund and this chain is seemingly OK with presenting rooms like this to customers. Filth and bugs do not bother the staff here. They must like living in it. I will never ever stay at another hotel in this chain again. The dingy lobby should've been the first sign to run far far away. But now I'm stuck footing the bill for an unacceptable and uninhabitable room.
