I wish I had taken more photos of the property. Unfortunately, I did not. The front desk staff greeted me, and she could not have been nicer to me (An older girl with an accent; I forgot her name). So let me start with the positive: there was always an elevator on the ground floor waiting to take you to your room. The room that we had was big and immaculate. The bed was nice and soft, and this bed did not have the mini pillows, which are becoming more popular in Marriott rooms. Plenty of spa products and plenty of outlets were left in the room. The staff around the property always said hi and even tried to have some conversations every chance they could. The morning buffet for $25 (I think that was the cost) is well worth it. I did love it even though it was a little small. They had plenty of treadmills and had two Peloton bikes, which was phenomenal. If I am nitpicking, the negative for the property is that the elevator key card does not always work, making use of the other key card on the other side of the elevator door. The rug that was in our room had the corners peeling in an upward motion. The biggest disappointment was the concierge lounge. I was early one day and went down at 6:25 A.M. just to take a look at what was there. The girl immediately told me they were not open until 6:30 A.M. I came back, looked around, and decided to eat elsewhere. This was a huge letdown disappointment for the lounge. Would I stay at this property again? Absolutely. I enjoyed almost every aspect of it. But, with that said, I wouldn't book this property based on the concierge lounge.

We were excited to stay in this hotel because we have stayed in other autographs hotels and loved them. This hotel was originally a Ritz Carlton and switched in 2010. Marty the Valet was fantastic. We noticed a lot of friendly staff around which was nice. The breakfast in the restaurant was ok but not really worth the price. The omelette station was good but other than that it was lacking. It is nice that they have coffee available in the lobby but it ran out every day. On one occasion we let a staff person know and she said they were aware and were bringing some right out. We waited 5 minutes and they came and cleared the coffee bar. I would have preferred her just being honest and telling us that it was the end of the service so no more was coming. We attended an event at the hotel and everything was well done. Our room was average/large and nicely appointed. The cleaning staff did a great job. Overall we really enjoyed our stay considering we had a hotel block rate which felt like the appropriate rate. I wouldn't have wanted to pay full price.

The Henry is a nice hotel but not at the 5 star level that it states. Most employees are very polite, professional and aim to serve guests needs. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. There are nice intimate places to sit and relax. I liked they had the daily WSJ downstairs. They have beautiful colorful art work throughout the property. There is ample free parking and quick access to the freeway. Concierge breakfast was poor at best. Don't expect a great or even normal experience while visiting concierge at anytime.

Beautiful hotel! The staff was great and the atmosphere was excellent. I booked a night stay while visiting family for the weekend. They offer an in-door swimming pool and sauna, workout room, gift shop, restaurant inside the hotel, lounge room with a fire place and plenty of seating, along with complimentary parking for guests. I found the staff to be extremely professional and kind which is always a plus. Although, I did not eat at the restaurant, it was quite busy each time I passed to enter/exit the hotel. The room itself has art work all over the place which was very beautiful. The bed was a bit hard and the pillows a bit too soft. Overall, the experience was nice. If you're looking for a non-smoking hotel with a trendy vibe definitely check this place out. You're going to like it. Definitely IG worthy moments to capture!

One usb plug in the entire room and in a useless spot.

Enter this hotel and you'll find it is beautiful, there's no doubt about it. Gleaming, white surfaces and marble floors, high end sofas. To the left of the entrance is their restaurant, and to the right, almost hidden away, is the very small check in desk. When you check in, and head down the hall toward the room elevators, you're surrounded by beautiful artwork due to a partnership the Henry has with a gallery. Look carefully, because if there's something you want to buy, you should snap it up at the Henry price. When I got to my room it was not quite as luxurious as I had anticipated for this price point. They have the usual amenities of coffee and tea and some simple toiletries. One thing that annoyed me pretty quickly, as I needed to use it that evening, was that there is no USB ports near the bed to plug in your phone, tablet, etc. This wouldn't have been such a big deal even a few years ago, but I was at this hotel in February 2020 and electronics are ubiquitous. Even pretty low-end hotels often have an alarm clock next to the bed that has USB ports in it or something else to plug into. I did find on my second night that the bedside lamps have an outlet built in. The only reason that I found this, however, is because I returned to my room early, sat in the chair to read and relax, and happened to look over and see it facing me; the lamp is such that the outlet is on the outer edges of the lamp, facing outward, not in a base that faces toward the ceiling where most people might see it. So the outlet in the lamp base isn't in a space where people readily notice it because it's facing the wall or the window, away from the bed. One night there was a device plugged into it but that was on the other side did the bed too and was happenstance I found it. The bed was pretty comfortable. The chair and the other furniture were nice and comfortable. I liked the toiletries including the lotion had a great smell and it wasn't greasy like lotion can be. Those sound a little weird to add to a review, but they were things that I noticed and enjoyed about my stay. The water was... I'm not sure if maybe hard is the right term or not. I just know it was different. It lathered soap so I guess that's maybe means it was not hard, but when I washed my face and hands with it, the water didn't slide off my skin the way water typically does. My hands/face were a bit tacky, for lack of a better term, and I used the lotion to make my hands feel a little more supple. The water also didn't taste great. The first night when I arrived there were two small bottles of water in mini fridge, but the second night there wasn't and I had forgotten to stop and get some for my room. So since I had decided to change into my pajamas earlier I decided I would just drink the tapwater and it had a weird taste to it that I didn't like very much. A bit later, as I tried to make some tea, I ran water twice through the appliance they have in the room to boil water and both times there was something in the water. When it happened the first time I thought maybe it was a fluke. I completely cleaned the cup, and added new water using that cup; there was nothing in the water when I poured it in the machine. After the water had boiled through the machine, again there were little yellow pieces of something and that was not appetizing so I went without tea that night. This was a disappointment because I'd been under the weather and was looking forward to the tea. I'd had tea earlier in the day as well as the night before, so hopefully the same thing wasn't happening and I just wasn't observant enough to see it... seems unlikely, though. I don't know that I'd stay here again if I had other options. The reason I was here this time was for the installation of the new Bishop of Michigan, who had been my rector prior to her elevation, as well as a board meeting for a professional association I am involved with (both happened to be taking place on subsequent nights, which made it unbelievably convenient for me!). If I was here for a conference in the hotel I'd definitely stay here for ease of experience but if for a vacation I would probably choose a different option since it's a bit expensive.

So, I wanted to stay somewhere nice in town over the July 4th weekend, and I booked this hotel on hotels.com. This place is super nice, with a ton of amenities! It also has a fabulous art collection throughout the hotel, and most are available for purchase. Getting here, you can either self park or do valet for $25. I find that to be quite expensive, especially since it's not Chicago, New York or whatever. Since it was hot, rainy and I was tired, I did the valet. I didn't need the car for the rest of the night anyways, so take it! Walking in, the lobby is beautiful and large. They have plenty of seating, a fireplace, a bar, and a restaurant! I hung out in the lobby for a while because there were two weddings going on, and I loved the people watching. Checking in was easy, but I had a hard time figuring out where the check in desk was. I was so tired I had to ask. I found it, off in the corner. I got up to my room, and it was so pretty. Very large, nicely decorated, with a variety of cool items throughout. There was a fridge, coffee maker, closet, and a desk right away. Bed was comfy, but so were the pillows. After I got back from dinner, I went for a swim. The pool was nice, and they had a great hot tub as well. They also have a fitness center here, but I'm allergic to fitness right now, so I just kept on walking. Here is my only complaint. While swimming in the pool, I went to use the ladder to get out so I could go check my phone. I thought I heard it ring. As I was walking in the pool to get to the ladder, I stepped on something squishy. I thought it was a towel. IT WAS A DIAPER. EFF THAT. I got out and ran back to my room and immediately took a shower. I was disgusted and have never had a diaper in the pool kind of problem. I went back down to the desk to tell them but no one was there. Being that I was swimming at 9PM at night, I don't know how long it had been in there. It could have been a clean diaper that fell in, or a used one that fell. Either way, I was upset. I forgot to tell the desk gal who checked me out the next day about it. I was so tired and remembered halfway home. Did this ruin my stay? NO. But it was kind of gross. Does anyone bother to actually check the pool here? That's how the filters get ruined and then the whole pool goes down. Anyway, I would stay here again but probably not go swimming. Great facility and a beautiful place to stay. Thank you so much!

What I love about this hotel is the amazing art work throughout the facility. Yes, you can purchase the art. The hotel is beautiful throughout the holiday season, esp at Christmas. On the most part staff is excellent, there is always one not as friendly. You definitely need to stay here when in the dearbourn area.

Over priced hotel. The water pressure in the bathroom kept going in and out making for a really annoying shower situation.

Parking is free. Staff have always been so friendly at check-in. Luckily I haven't needed anything during my stays but I know they'd have my back. This is an old-school hotel. They don't make them like this anymore, sadly. It's HUGE. Not your typical rectangle building with a lobby and two hallways going left or right. You can get lost in this place! The first floor has some pretty fun vintage car art on all the walls that could take you an hour or more to look at. There's a huge selection of snacks, drinks and other goods available in their sundry room and prices were reasonable. If you forget something, they've probably got it in their shop. The rooms are good. They recently upgraded from carpet to vinyl flooring, which was a smart move because the carpet was getting tired. Beds are cozy, they give you 5 different pillows, everything has always been incredibly clean, AC always works, heat always works. You know, the things you want from a hotel. The pool area is the star of the show here. I've never seen a bigger indoor pool area in my life. They've got a huge hot tub that is adults-only, a dry sauna room and a monstrous heated pool. There were plenty of tables with chairs as well as lounge chairs all throughout the area. The towels they provide are tiny so grab a couple before you get into the water. There is a restaurant and lounge on site (again, something most places don't do anymore!) Laura the bartender was so kind and personable when we visited for dinner. The breakfast buffet is NOT included in the hotel price, it's $5 extra per person. That said, there were so many different items to choose from and I have no problem paying $5 more for a hot buffet. Overall, great hotel and no complaints from me. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

It was a great choice for our stay! Everyone was so friendly, and I appreciated the Diamond status recognition (and those warm cookies!). I'm a big HiltonHonors fan, and the DoubleTree brand is always a solid travel pick and it's just nice to receive an inviting and friendly welcome. The hotel is big! I mean like really big. Like a maze. I looked it up and there are 347 guest rooms covering 5 floors & 12,000+ square feetMeeting/event space. We stayed in Room 540, and while the hallway had a bit of a smoke smell, the rooms are nonsmoking, so not sure what that was about. Minor details, wear and dust, but still 5 stars based on amenities and service. I only found one Ice machine working too on 4 of the floors. Helpful tip: Door 3 is closest to the elevators! Another guest shared that with me and it saved some walking! I think I saw at least 9 numbered doors from circling the building trying to get out of the parking lot. No real issues during the stay other than the ice machine and would absolutely stay here again. We chose this location to be close to The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation but a solid choice if you want to stay outside of Downtown Detroit.

Their staff did an admirable job in dealing with a sudden emergency. We were sitting around a big table in their Dearborn Conference Room on Friday when around 6:30pm the area was hit with a power outage. Somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 customers lost power, including the hotel. Whatever happened also affected the hotel generator, because that was knocked out too. No heat, no hot water, no electricity, no internet. The hotel staff did what they could and set up emergency contractor lights in the lobby area and dining area. I'm not sure how, but they were able to serve the traditional Embassy Suites hot breakfast the next morning. My visit got off to a great start, with a big suite room and an excellent check-in experience. Some of our party arrived early and we enjoyed their complimentary Happy Hour drinks and snacks. Their staff was wonderful -especially the food service workers who set up that hot breakfast in dim lighting. She directed a comment toward me that was factually incorrect and when I attempted to explain to her why, she exploded and started screaming at me. I stepped away, gathered my stuff and waited for my check at the end of the bar farthest from her. She continued screaming at me from across the bar, raving loudly that she would pray for me--which I found particularly bizarre and rather scary. I asked her repeatedly to stop shouting at me. While waiting I had a polite conversation with a man at the end of the bar that I had purposefully placed between she and me. The bartender returned and she finally got her to stop screaming. I paid and left. In the morning at checkout I told the front desk person about my very negative and frightening experience. She apologized and said that they expect people not to "talk politics". I pointed out to her that Fox News was playing on every TV in the lobby and bar and she apologized again. I took the shuttle to the airport.
