The salon is spacious clean and beautiful . The owner (Tianna) and all of the other technicians there have always delivered on their services. I've never in 40 plus years of getting my nails done put any designs or anything on my nails but now thanks to Lucent Nails and all their talent , every 2 weeks I have new art on my nails. Another huge plus was that from my first appointment there up until current , THEY HONOR YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME, (which is great and unheard of)! As a matter of fact in the very few times they were running behind, I ALWAYS RECEIVED A COURTESY CALL TO LET ME KNOW! I am head over heels (or should I say Nails over Toes) with Lucent Nails! Manicure table dusty and dirty, cuticle cutter was not in a sterilized pouch, and the portable UV lamps were filthy inside. They were caked with dust and grit, so much so that when my hands came out particles were stuck to my nails that had to be picked off and repolished, plus my palms were covered in someone else's sanded off gel. To top that off I figured after the cuticle oil was put on I would be asked to go wash my hands, nope, just preceded to put moisturizer and try to rub that dirt into my hands even more. I had to stop her and tell her I needed to go wash my hands. No hot towel, no neck massage, although at that point I wouldn't have accepted one anyway because her hands were dirtier than mine and remained unwashed while she put moisturizer on my hands. Horrible. There were more issues, like my nail shape being completely changed from oval to sharp points when I definitely didn't ask for that and the tops of my nails pointing east when they should be straight. I was actually told it was my two fingers than weren't straight thankfully they are and someone came over and fixed it. Just an all around bad experience which is insane, for the prices they charge you should be getting 5 star service.

Made an appointment again but ended up not getting started on for over 45 minutes. When I walked in I was a bit grossed out by the sewage smell that never went away. I asked the head lady in charge if they had the color I showed her on my phone...she said yes. I finally get Lisa who asks why I'm getting powder and tells me UV gels better and kept asking why I don't get it instead...I said I'll look into it if it's healthy or not...she persisted...I declined repeatedly..she started laughing and talking to the technician next to her-all I could make out was uv and powder in what sounded like a complaining, condescending tone. (The first time the leading lady tried to convince me to get gel as well but in a much nicer way-so it appears they don't like doing powder and removing it) Once she's done removing my last manicure she pulls out uv gloves and tries to put them on my hands...I asked her if she was going to do UV gel anyway even though I said no....she says yes, I tell her no, she starts complaining again in her language to the technicians near her. I had to ask if she knew how to do powder as I was beginning to get worried. After 2 hours the end result was fine, but in a color other than what I asked for and I'll probably have to go get them redone. So Be warned if you do go here...make sure you get gel! (And bring a translator) *also know they do not give complimentary massages while your nails dry as most other salons in the area do, instead they have a man who asks you if you want a massage, starts and then tells you the fee. Thankfully I picked up on this from seeing him do this to others before he got to me.

Apparently, that's too much to ask now. I went in for dip nails and brows and was in and out in under 30 minutes... which should've been my first red flag. My nails were cut so short they actually hurt for days (how does that even happen?), and the shape was completely off. When I asked for tips, I was told "no" and basically overruled with a French tip instead and a "trust me." I did. That was my mistake. They looked so bad. And my eyebrows? Please. I've had more shaping done by accidentally rubbing my face. She barely took anything off and didn't clean them up at all--it didn't even look like I had them waxed. The whole vibe was very "next customer!" instead of actually caring about the person in the chair. It felt rushed, sloppy, and honestly just disrespectful. I paid (regretfully), but let's be real--I shouldn't have. I work hard for my money, and this felt like it was taken, not earned. Safe to say I won't be back. Super disappointing. *This photo was only taken 4 days after the crap job. Looked super grown out already and oddly shaped. Terrible.*

When the manager is present, the salon staff follow my requests without any issues, and I feel like my concerns are respected. However, when he isn't there--especially later in the day--the experience is completely different. The technicians seem to rush through the manicure, become argumentative when I ask for something specific, and often ignore my requests. One of my biggest concerns is the excessive use of the electric drill and UV lamp. I know what works best for my nails, and I have repeatedly explained that I do not want my natural nail bed damaged. Unfortunately, my preferences are often dismissed, and I feel pressured into a service I didn't ask for. It's frustrating because the exact same requests are honored when the manager is supervising, which tells me the staff are capable of following customer instructions. Customers deserve the same level of respect and care regardless of who is on duty. Consistency and listening to your clients should be a priority.

So my experience overall was just odd. Luckily, I take everything with a grain of salt. I was in the area, and I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed. I knew Santorini's was across the street and I wanted to eat there (review for them is posted) Ok so I go into the wax room, lay down, and close my eyes. Open my eyes a little bit and there are 2 or 3 additional ladies in the room with me (employees) watching apparently a lesson in eyebrow waxing. Okay, the lady doing my brows "is a very good teacher" - her words. Go for it, girl. Despite this, I decide I want a mani. And then I decide I want a pedi also. So eyebrows done, I sit in the chair for my pedi. Basic stuff, no frills. The usual. It was 630 pm when I arrived and they closed at 730 so I wasn't trying to stay there all night. Plus, starving. Really nice girl but she scratched up the tops of my feet with the callous scrubber. Not sure why she did that. Didn't really notice til about an hour later. On to the mani. Very meticulous. I'm almost certain the ladies employed are fairly new to nails and salon business. Really sweet people. They just need some more experience.
