My wife and I brought in two prints we have had for over 30 years to be reframed. Michelle and Juliana first measured the old frame then measured where the hooks were for hanging. They proceeded to gingerly take the frame apart to get to the prints. Much to our surprise the prints were a whole lot brighter than they looked because the glass had faded. The Village Frame team all helped us with determining the best new frame, new matting and added features we should include to enhance the print. When we got the framed prints back, they looked outstanding. A very professional job done. The prints looked better today than the day we purchased them. We took the framed prints home and, thanks to the initial job of measuring, we were able to put them right back on the picture hangers on the wall. You'll get fantastic customer service. They do get stuff done within about a week and for the most part it looks great. But I'll be honest you can get a decent frame job at one of the hobby/craft places for less than half what they charge. You may not have the choices but you will save some bucks. If you have something that really needs some special personally chosen frame, a special glass or you want to spend more to get something really custom - go here. The ladies there take their time to help you choose the right matte and the right frame for your item. The ideas they had on how to frame a couple things I brought in worked out far better than my original ideas. That's why they are framers and I am not. Their selection of frames and matte is freakin' awesome! Whether you need small frames for photos they have those on the shelves or huge frames for posters or artwork they have that to customize for you. The color choices on the matte is mind boggling...almost too much once you start putting colors together. I had three beautiful prints I brought back from France framed there. The framing couldn't have fit the artwork better or looked nicer on the wall. Of course now that I paid the large price tag to get those prints framed it will be a few years before I can go back to Europe! I also had a collector piece of tin ceiling from Norman Sheet Metal I wanted framed...no glass, just matte and a simple frame. When I went to pick it up it was almost $300!! I realize custom framing is not cheap. I've had beautiful original artwork and cartoon cells framed because they are collector items. But for just prints or photos I'd do the Micheal's route next time. I started to give them 3 stars but that was because they are so expensive. But their work is 4 star worthy. read more

I took in a custom photo and frame to be assembled. I was very pleased with the service and the knowledge that was shared with me. Improvements were made to both of my pieces at no additional cost. I was called to pickup two days early during NYE week. They have a lovely retail section as well for gifts and Knick knacks. The adorable mascot(cute friendly dog) is a joy as well. The employees of this place think the whole world needs to bow down to them. One of their drivers was blocking the entire street next to their shop during rush hour traffic. You can't block the entire street. The driver never acknowledge all the traffic he was blocking. I honked softly at him and he gave me a look like he wanted to fight me but didn't move. Well of course I honked again more forcefully because you cannot block and entire street. Finally he very vengefully backs into the shop very slowly the whole time looking like he wants to fight me. I would definitely recommend this place if you have a high-end job that you want done well. The great: - The end-product was as good as it gets in terms of quality - The staff are extremely knowledgeable and will spend the time with you to get what you want and what is best for your artwork - Parking lot is small but never full when we went, and there was street parking as well. The frustrating: - It took over 2 weeks to get our painting back - While the staff helping us mentioned that the frame we liked would be expensive, they only confirmed the amount RIGHT before my fiance handed over his card. It would've been nice to have considered it while browsing our other options, as my idea of what it would cost was WAY off, and it would've been embarrassing if we couldn't afford that or chose not to go with that frame at that point I would definitely use them again on any original pieces we purchased. I don't agree with some reviewers that mention that you can go to Michael's and other places and get the same for less, as those places are certainly great for many things, but I would much rather trust my higher-end art needs to Village Frame Gallery. Not happy, didn't get what I was told and although an offer was made to make it right, it certainly didn't seem sincere. I blame myself for being too impulsive and not locking in my full expectations. So I took my framed article and suffered the disappointment. Basically I brought in a article to be reframed in my frame and wanted some color matting which, they suggested by the way. When I picked it up, it was on a plain white background and the explanation was not enough room to mat around the article, okkaayy? Well why not use a color background? Gift selection is phenomenal. All very unique and beautiful in a great range of prices. I found a unique family tree photo frame for my grandmother to put pictures of the five generations of women, and it brought tears to her eyes. Unfortunately and very disappointed that I just had the most horrible customer service by the owner of the store! We had one diploma reframed and one diploma that had never been framed. The diploma that had never been framed started bubbling/warping in the last two months. We got it framed around end of this February. I took this diploma back to get reframed last Saturday and I picked it up today. The owner said her work room had no idea who framed this diploma. We paid about $650 for this diploma to be framed. The owner said she should be charging me for reframing this diploma. I proceeded to ask her if the diploma was never framed and I picked it up framed then who would have framed it? She said she doesn't know and it is a "mystery". Sounds to me like one of her employees is unwilling to take responsibility for not framing the diploma correctly. I asked her if she would provide a discount on my next framing for the inconvenience of bringing the diploma back. She said for me to take the diploma and enjoy it and be glad she didn't charge me again! This is extremely disappointing as not only did we pay about $1100 for two diplomas but we also purchased a painting and had it framed for about $4000. read more

This place is fantastic and the staff is what all staff should be everywhere in the world. Julie is professional, kind and absolutely 100% helpful. I had a small photo retouched, matted and framed. She estimated it might take 3-4 days for the retouching and then just a few days for the matting and framing in case I chose a mat they didn't have in stock. This is about what I was expecting. She also gave me a quote of $80 for the photo and then of course the frame and mat would vary depending on what I chose. Other than Julie, the other reason I now love this place is that it didn't take a few days for the retouching; it took one. I chose a frame that was already made which they have a nice small collection of so that saved me some money and the mat I chose she said would take a few days to get in and once they receive it, it'd only be a day to cut it, mount it and put glass on. To my surprise, I was called the next day saying it was totally ready! Of all the luck, the one mat I chose they happened to have a small size left over from another project so they were able to use it, mount it, cut the glass, add a wire...and it looks awesome! I was so impressed with the service, quality and turnaround. They are nothing but professional plus the tiny little Pomeranian that sometimes walks around is the cutest most sweetest dog in the world! I'll be back without a doubt. Gone are the days of bad Michaels and Hobby Lobby "custom frames." I used to go there and even with 50% off coupons, they are still ridiculously expensive for bad work.
