Excellent vision and execution when framing my signed and numbered print. Only complaint is very slow service in terms of getting it done. The estimated time frame was way off and I think, had I not contacted them once or twice, I would have been pushed back even more. They also told me that the long wait for completion was typical and had nothing to do with it being December. I would actually give them 4.5, but this app doesn't seem to support that. read more

This art store is more cost that others but the staff is very creative and helpful. They spent quality time for my small project getting a picture frame for my mom birthday. the order was done on time and arrived in great shape. Dramatika is a great place to find cards. I'm always on the look out for Mik Wright cards, and they have a nice selection. (You know, the ones with the photograph on the front, then some witty quip like, "listen here you flat chested, broad assed, penciled-in eye browed, tupperware snatchin' wench! give me back my deviled egg carrier!" on the inside.) They also have great wrapping paper by the sheet. There were some great Warhol sheets (bananas, Jackie O) the last time I stopped by. They also have really neat picture frames. I took a piece of cross-stitch with beading in to be framed. Cindy patiently assisted me to pick out a frame (trust me when I say she was patient!) while also explaining and showing me examples on the different ways the piece could be framed. She had great suggestions and worked up different prices for me with a smile. To my surprise, the cost even came in under my budgeted amount. I picked up the framed piece today and I couldn't be happier. The blocking of the piece is beautifully done and the simple way it was framed set it off perfectly. I just had five prints framed here and they did a beautiful job. They spent time discussing what I needed with me, made sure it all fit in my budget, and the results were just beautiful. They even included the hardware to hang them. It will cost you more to frame here than picking up a readymade frame at a craft shop, but their prices were very reasonable for custom framing. If I ever need anything framed with real attention to detail, I'm going back here. They have definitely won my business. read more

I had an original 1920s blueprint of our Heights Bungalow we purchased a year ago. I had been holding onto it for awhile because I wanted to find the perfect framing store. After reading reviews on Nextdoor, I stopped by Dramatika on a Friday to discuss my options. The customer service was fantastic!! I could tell they were busy but never once did I feel rushed or like they were annoyed with me. The gentleman (can't remember his name) took his time showing the different options and price points and had wonderful recommendations. I can't wait to see the final result!! This place is adorable. It has really cute greeting cards, fun mugs, cool paintings, and so much more. It's a tiny little store and I didn't go in it for a really long time. I don't know why. I guess I don't like small stores when I'm window shopping because I'm always afraid they will be annoyed that I'm not buying anything. But the guy working here was really nice. He said hello and told us to let him know if we needed anything and then left me alone, which was really cool. I know it's supposed to be a frame store but I didn't even really look at that stuff. We took our Ketubah to Dramatika with some special requests... we needed it framed and protected, but not put under glass just yet. We want to display it at our wedding but we also need it accessible so that we can sign it before the ceremony. Dramatika went above and beyond to get this done for us. We have a beautiful frame and blush-colored matting, and then they covered it with a clear liner that we can simply lift up when the time comes to sign. And it lays neatly back down with a little flap we can tuck into the frame once we're done, so we can display it and have it LOOK like the complete finished product. Once the wedding is over, we'll take it back to Dramatika to put the glass in. But already, it is the most beautiful Ketubah and frame I've ever seen! Pictures don't even do it justice. The frame itself is such a pretty brushed gold that looks so good with the blush colored matting. And the staff (especially manager Patrick) was so great in helping us pick a frame and mat color - because there are so many choices it was too overwhelming! I'm beyond happy with everything and I love that we'll have such a beautiful keepsake to admire for years to come! read more

I've been to Dramatika several times for framing or hanging requests and always had a good experience. BUT recently we were renovating our master bathroom, and needed to replace the large (48x32") mirror b/c it was brown and ornate and just generally gross. It turns out that large mirrors are either ugly or hella expensive or both. So a family member suggested we reframe the existing mirror, and Patrick at Dramatika totally set us up, even calling me back when the frame we selected wouldn't work for the mirror once he had it in the shop. The final product looks amazing and is perfect for our "new" bathroom. read more

I have had two experiences with this great little shop. The first framed job was well executed and woman assistant very helpful with suggestions. The second experience was a disaster. I brought a friend to have a large expensive piece framed. We were met with the same woman who was in your face aggressive (We did not have the piece with us only dimensions for general pricing). I was embarrassed and felt like customer service went out the door. The woman was told directly that we were looking and simply pricing. They lost the sale as we went to another local shop for the job. I only write this in hopes of the shop will consider the approach and be more customer friendly. I've taken several items to Dramatika for framing in the past year, and they do a wonderful job. They promptly help you with your request, ask what you are looking for and make suggestions if you wish--no hard sell. Generally jobs are completed in a few weeks (and they tell you so), and they'll call when it's ready to be picked up. They even provide the hardware to hang it when you get it home. It is pricier that buying a frame from Ikea or Michael's and doing it yourself, but if you want your art or document to last, get your framing done by a pro. After reading the reviews we decided to go to Dramatika last Sunday to have two of our paintings framed. We walked into the store which is fairly small so it's impossible for the store attendant not to see us. We waited for about 5-10 mintues in front of the table where the attendant was working with another client without her acknowleding or even greeting us. I finally had to ask her politely if there would be anybody there who could help us which made her look up and say that it's only her there that day so it may take a while!! As a fellow Heights neighbor I wanted to go the a local store but I don't think this is the way to run a business, there were maybe 5-7 people max in the store so not that crowded to justify ignoring a possible customer. This was a disappointing visit and I will not go back there. I hope others have a better experience. read more

This place is amazing. It took about 2 minutes when I walked in on a Saturday afternoon, and Patrick and I were immediately enthralled in conversation regarding the piece I brought in. Having moved here from Chicago with some of my incomplete artwork had me nervous in finding the right framing expert. It wasn't long after I read the Yelp reviews that I knew this was the place. I hate to admit that Yelp isn't my "go to" for absolutely everything, so I approached cautiously. Hello?! - I found the perfect place! (Thank you Yelp'ers.) Everyone working there is so nice and fun - I actually didn't want to leave and could have hung out there for hours. The shop's quirky card collection and fun artwork is fabulous. Patrick's vision is amazing and he picked the perfect frame and mat. He worked with me on various pricing options. He's got amazing patience because I'm a hyper perfectionist with art. (laugh) His skill in setting the art properly is astonishing - really. I brought in a somewhat controversial piece (very large photo stock), but my quirky taste was appreciated by the staff, and Patrick seemed thrilled to work on it. We all laughed a lot during the initial meeting, and staff members came up to marvel at the design and talked about it with me (i.e. "who is this?, where'd you find this?!"). I had a blast. Today I picked up the finished product (it only took a couple of weeks). Not to sound sappy, but I could have cried at how beautiful it looks. I'm going back again and again. Just know this is not a discount framer, and this is not some hobby shop - this is the real deal. Whatever pieces you have, and if you're serious about your art, take it to Dramatika. Tom and Mark are the best!!! They help me frame my paintings in antique frames that I find here and there and drag in and say: "what can we do with this." Sometimes the old frames do not work out and I pick out a new frame from Dramatika's large selection. In addition, they are very professional, knowledgable and patient with their customers.
