Cute little café with plenty of pastry and coffee options. My sister in law loves their huge scones. I enjoyed a gluten free chocolate chip cookie and took a GF brownie back to our hotel. Their hot pumpkin spiced latte was one of the best I've had (better than Starbucks IMO). They have many specialty items. You can spend a good amount of time just taking it all in and trying different things. There is seating inside as well as outside. I highly recommend a nice hot coffee, a scone and a good friend - then settle in to one of their cozy tables for lovely conversation. read more

If I could add NEGATIVE ZERO STARS for this place I would. First time visiting Maine and everyone here is beyond lovely EXCEPT the folks at this market. We rented a house in Perkins Cove for the week and stopped in to stock up on items. We spent $165 and were met by 2 of the rudest women. It was as if we were annoying them by shopping there. We wanted to order 2 sandwiches and asked if I could change type of bread and was told, "NOPE. My husband asked to order a sandwich with cold cuts and was told "NOPE. Only make what's listed on the menu" An incredibly unwelcoming place. We will be letting the owners of our rental know that people should steer clear of this place. read more

Of all the times I've been in Ogunquit. I don't know why I've never gone in here. This was a great find! Everything you need... From an affordable sub to the best pastry counter in the entire town. What a cute little place this is. We went a couple of times when we were in town, and always found what we were looking for. Great for picking up a sandwich or salad or sweet thing as a treat. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. We chose not to get any of the hot food that was out to scoop ourselves, because it looked as though it had been out for quite a while. It has a little bit of everything. A deli, supermarket, liquor store, butcher and bakery. The only thing missing is the candlestick maker. The people here are super friendly. The sandwiches are so very good! Also, their giant cookies are so good. We had to come back the next day to get more to take on our plane ride home! This little grocery store / cafe is awesome and has everything you could need to make a beach basket or grab some snacks while exploring OGT. We decided to grab a quick sandwich for lunch here on a recent visit and enjoy it outside. Their sandwich menu is very extensive and has quite a few vegetarian options (thank you!). Unfortunately, the ordering process is a bit confusing. I ordered and then was given no direction, so I just stood around waiting for my sandwich for a long (like really long...) time. Eventually, I checked in with the cashier who let me know that my sandwich was ready for a while and had been sitting there waiting. Had I known, it would have been much faster! I will definitely revisit in the future, and know now to ask if it seems to be taking too long. I saw many people picking up mobile orders - maybe that is the way to go! Looking for quick lunch on a busy September Saturday, we came here on recommendation of a friend. The store has plenty of everything, much of it high quality. The deli counter had great offerings and we ordered the sweet Thai chicken and Cuban sandwiches to go. After we dodged customers passing through for about five minutes, an annoyed manager came and told us we should be waiting outside in an alcove near the front door for our completed ticket to be taped to the front window. While we were out there we alternated with other first timers to squint at the next receipt, amazed that this is the chosen system for a place so busy. Newcomers lined up behind us thinking there was a line to enter the deli. Once we got the sandwiches, they were fine. The bread was great and melted cheese likely saved the day as the flavor/seasoning for both were lacking. I'd go again if I was hungry and needed takeout, but I might ask for some extra pickles or hot sauce on the sandwiches. read more

To be fair, the sweets we had deserve 5 stars across the board, they were delicious! However, the actual experience inside the market was so extremely off putting. The staff was so unfriendly! We were ready to checkout at the cafe counter near the baked goods and were met by just about the most insolent older man I've come across in all of Maine. Probably wouldn't step foot in there again. I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I walked in there for the first time, but it's definitely a market feel but almost like an upscale market. It is very packed with food and drinks. I ordered online so I didn't really deal with the service. However, it's not really customizable online, so that's something to watch out for. I got a steak and cheese but that was supposed to have teriyaki sauce on it but I couldn't really taste it. The bun was a little too crispy for me and it was very runny like I made a huge mess. I definitely am not sure if I would be back but maybe we will try something different if I did come back. read more

If you're staying in Ogunquit and looking to grab some groceries or items for a picnic, you must stop in to Village Food and Market! Village Food and Market is an upscale, small grocery store and deli. The amount of products they have in there is astounding. You wonder how they fit everything! Village Food has everything to stock the fridge, or the picnic basket. They have a solid selection of dry/shelf stable goods and snacks. The price on those items is marked up quite a bit, I'd suggest procuring those items elsewhere. They have an incredible wine and craft beer selection with some incredible wines and beers to choose from. A majority of folks stopping in were there to pickup a quality bottle of wine. They do have a deli counter with a solid selection of lunch meat, pasta salads, and more! We ordered some Mortadella to go into our picnic basket. I grabbed an Italian-meat charcuterie tray with prosciutto, capicola, and salami. I also grabbed some incredible "Port Wine" cheese spread. It was great paired with crostini. They have a great selection of pre-made, packaged items. I grabbed some olives and assorted cheese cubes to accompany the meats. The deli also has a nice selection of salads, dips, and the like. There is a plethora of brands I haven't come across before. They truly try to stock the best artisanal brands and products. For those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth, they do have a small bakery case with assorted pastries, pies, cakes, and cookies. I wasn't a big fan of their baked goods, I found they lacked flavor. They did look visually appealing. I would highly recommend this market and deli to locals and tourists alike. The product selection is very unique and the service is phenomenal. The quality of the product offered is worth the increase in price. I do recommend bringing your patience. The place tends to get very busy and it is tight in the store. Listen....This place is 6 stars!!! I/we loved this place. One stop shopping. My wife loved the coffee and I had a cup of organic tea with honey. We would come here every morning and then we would sit out front at one of the tables and people watch forever. They serve hot foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner to go. I had a bowl of chili, and it was incredible. They serve baked goods, pastries, gluten free, soups, sandwiches, organic tea, fresh fruit, prepared foods, grocery items...WINE in bottles!! I live close by and this market is a critical part of the ogunquit community. The store is jammed packed with goodies and staples. They offer a wide variety of prepared foods which includes an affordable dinner plate for those who don't wish to dine in a restaurant. The store has a very popular made to order sandwich business as well. It is. always busy but the cashiers are friendly and quick. Ithe market also carries some hip brands that you won't see elsewhere. A big plus is that market has a great meat section with thick cut strip and cowboy steaks perfect for barbecue. read more

Breakfast sandwich was only half a sandwich and the manager was a piece of work. There's like 5 people standing in front of a sign that says "pickup at main register". He tells everyone "wait outside". We're all like "it says pickup here". He says you wait outside until they tape your ticket to the outside window then you come back and get in line again and tell them your order and get your sandwich. Ah got it. Cmon. We were in Ogunquit for about 24 hours, and went to this place 3 times! The first time we picked up something for lunch because it was a short walk from our hotel. My husband said repeatedly how good his steak bomb was. I tried a new soup variety I never had before: sausage and squash. It was great. Also had a BLT, with a really good tomato - especially for November. It was a cold night, and we didn't want to eat inside a restaurant, so we went back. This time my husband had clam chowder, which also was delicious and warming. I just got a grab-and-go beet salad. It was different and yummy. Also picked up a lovely almond macaroon cookie from the bakery. So good. The next morning, we couldn't figure out the coffee maker in the room, and walked over there for coffee. I had been eyeing the generously-sized spices for sale during my other visits. This time I went ahead and purchased a couple. They are too big for my spice rack, but a very good value. Everyone who worked there was friendly and efficiently. They have a lot of good safety measures in place for ordering and picking up food. Lots of cool local gourmet items available. 9/30. We ordered sandwiches and chowder for a late lunch. I had a buffalo grilled chicken wrap which was ok. The only downside was the lettuce was all white core. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. I've been going to Ogunquit since the 90s and for many of these years this market was a great venue to patronize. Now, however, this place is only surviving because it's the only such business in town...last time I shopped there was during covid so I chalked the no patience, bad attitude up to that stress...so what's the excuse this week for the unsolicited bad attitude from the A-hole behind the counter?...if he's an employee or manager, he should be fired...if the owner, he should move on to the Dueling Divas drag show where his talents would be more fitting and appreciated...the following dissatisfied customers seem to agree with my evaluation; Jonalisse D, Woodsy N, Joanne F, Sabrina L, Kate R, Kara P, Kim P, Taylor V, Scott M, Patti B, etc...it's a customer service, hospitality business so this rude dude behind the counter and the rest of the staff mentioned in these reviews should take note and adjust their attitudes before biting the hands that feed them read more

We have stopped by this Ogunquit institution for wine and snacks in the past. We had a big lunch and couldn't deal with a big restaurant dinner. There was a choice of 4 soups- ideal for a chilly evening. The clam chowder was solid and the vegetable soup was OK. The 10" turkey, avocado and cheese sandwich was big enough to share. The gruff lady at the cash register added the local color. 3.5 stars, but round up because it's important to have a relatively inexpensive option for a casual meal. read more

We have been going to the market for years and have loved it as it has everything you need without having to travel miles to the nearest grocery store. We especially have enjoyed the market's baked goods -- until last week when we selected a bakery item wrapped in plastic and fleas and flies flew up from the package. Especially disappointing was the "whatever" reaction of the woman in charge of the area. She essentially said it was just something that happened but it was fine because of the plastic wrap. Pretty cool space. They do have just about everything and it is conveniently located in the center of town. I was taking a walk one morning and was looking for a little something and coffee to get my day going. The store is a great store with some many options. Plus a kitchen to order and bakery items to choose from for breakfast and lunch. They have tables and chairs to relax and enjoy the view from the big windows, or the conversation from the locals. Which today was a fun experience. While eating my muffin and drinking coffee, I was able to look around and see the variety of products available to you.
