Almost don't want to review because I'm not going to be able to offer any new insights. The other reviews are pretty dead on: the name of the game is going for the color deal of the day, it's always crowded with people that have no spacial reasoning, and the prices are set by what I assume is a Neanderthal that was incased in ice 3 million years ago. They discovered him, melted his ice case, handed him a pen and a dress from Shein. He marks it at $16 when brand new it was going for $7. They pat themselves on the back for finding such cheap labor in this caveman. Somewhere, the overseer at the Shein Factory looks down at the lines of children and has the same satisfaction. Really the worst part is the crowds and the audacity of their shoe pricing. A smart move is signing up for their text updates. Every morning you can get an update on a daily deal they're having. My brother was visiting from out of state and saw my text notification and said, "Yooo you got the Village Discount texts? [derogatory]" but for once the teasing didn't phase me because I really love thrifting for vintage stuff, and VDO can really stock some bangers if you're patient. The aisles are so darn narrow. Bring a bottle of water and your best frilled lizard energy to ward off enemies. Check the tags. Communicate with your dollar that VDO needs to stop stocking so much Shein. read more

I love shopping here! Some items are expensive for them being donated clothing, so I stick to the sale items. Every day two different colored tags are 50% off so I only will get items if they are the sale color! There are so many isles to look through so it makes me not buy too much as well. The staff has always been friendly when I have gone. The last time I went they had all the dressing rooms closed, so we couldn't try on items. read more

The prices are ridiculously high for used goods. They just inflated the prices recently at the Waterloo store so I'm choosing not visit them again. read more

Village Discount Outlet - Over priced used shirt. - Thrift Stores Near Me - Akron, Ohio

The absolute best thrift store experience. Designer clothing, shoes, appliances, coats, jewelry. Clean and almost new items from estate sales. Frequent sales and discounts on already cheap items read more

Used to shop here all the time with my girlfriend but now we haven't even thought of going. The prices are insane and not even worth buying from here when you can find the stuff you're buying for cheaper online or at the original store it came from brand new. How are y'all gonna sell stuff for market price when you get this stuff for free or cheap. You guys are not a thrift store anymore so might as well remove that out of your name. I'm begging anyone that shops here to find an actual thrift store and don't support this greedy establishment. read more

Came in excited to buy something their prices are at Retail if not more than in the original shirt huge disappointment on one rack they had T-shirts priced at $200. The staff was friendly otherwise. read more

Heavily worn protective motorcycle jacket with missing pads, and crumbled pads. 99.99 brand new, being sold for 125 dollars in your store. Everything else I saw was ridiculously overpriced. How do you get something donated, then sell it for 25% more than new, and feel right about it? read more

I wish I didn't have 2 leave a star rating. Place is a joke !!! Higher prices than the mall & it's DONATED USED clothing !! Don't waste your time or gas going there. My family will never be back EVER read more

There are no dressing rooms, but this place gets packed with customers & has some really good deals. They will have rotating colors that are 50% off, so you can sometimes leave with a great haul. The majority of the store is clothing. read more

So many shirts! Hit and miss pricing :/ Great selection. I bought a messenger bag for two dollars that completely serving my DoorDash needs. :) The red pillow in the picture was also two dollars. I saw shoes and dresses and bedding that made me swoon... but let's face it-- I am currently poor. Three stars only because of seemingly arbitrary pricing on men's shirts and hard to navigate racks. Worth a visit. Puff likes his new pillow. read more

Village Discount Outlet - Nice two dollar pillow! - Thrift Stores Near Me - Akron, Ohio

OVERPRICED !!!! These items were donated & people shop thrift stores 2 save $$ in this economy so why try 2 break them ?? Go down the street to goodwill, they have decent prices & dressing rooms which this farse doesn't. ILL NEVER GO BACK!!! read more

Everything is overpriced, $6 for a shirt I can buy brand new from Walmart. FYI they google every item they receive and price it based on what it's selling online! Not affordable at all! Don't waste your time! Makes me really upset to see something I really like and it's price gouged. I don't know how it's called the #1 thrift store in ohio! read more

Many mixed feelings... Clothes for the family, housewares, toys, books, sporting goods, large shoe selection. The prices are usually fine, but sometimes I'll catch a low quality item priced higher than a hard to find, expensive boutique item. Every now and then I'll find an amazing deal or an item I'm super surprised to find. Not sure why, but you will also catch some obviously damaged items out on the racks. Holes (large to tiny), snags, major stains, pen marks - check every single piece before buying to make sure nothing is damaged. Check seams, both sides, if it's a dress or skirt, open it up flat to make sure nothing is hiding. The key here to watch the color sales. Each week the colors change and 2 are featured at the same time, one of the colors going less and less thru the week. Sometimes they'll run bonus specials such as "all short sleeved t-shirts half off" or "all shoes half off," etc. and that's the time to stack up if it's a category you like. Another tip is if the price seems too good to be true, don't wait till tomorrow, or until that color tag goes to half price. Stuff doesn't last long here! This location is definitely bigger than the Cuyahoga Falls location. Some of the rules are different like CFalls won't let you take a cart out of the building, but this location will. That's much appreciated by some of us lugging around small children and the giant bags they cram all of your items into. Unlike other thrift stores, they are strict about you removing all of your hangers before getting to check out. The hangers go on a nearby rack. Staff is typically friendly except for literally one person. Check out lines can take up to 10-15 min, but with all of the savings I've gotten, I guess it's a trade off. Example of prices/items you can find: $4 for $50 boutique kids shoes $10 for a pair of women's Crocs $5 for baby carrier worth $100 $5 casual women's shirt $8 better brand girls' dress * Designer items priced MUCH higher, typically behind a glass counter read more

This store waits until there is a long line of people out in the aisle(s) until they open up another register. What is their problem?? I don't know how many times I had an item or items only to see a long line of people with lots of clothes and only ONE register open with other employees doing everything else but getting people rung out. It is very frustrating to find something or things only to have to see a long line with only ONE register open so most times after I have spent time looking around in there and find something I just put those things down and walk out. They need to be much more considerate of their customers!! read more

Lazy.... Nothing organized size wise. Lots of stuff but a mess. There is a similar store down the street, clean and better managed. Plus village often only has 1 cashier. read more

I use to love this place, always found good stuff for great price. I walked in today and saw completely outrageous prices, over $100 on some things. Pretty much retail prices. Won't go back. Don't waste your time read more

Sundays are dollar days so one tag color is only $1 if its under 12. So I go on Sunday. One day had a guy tell me I must be bankrolled because my cart was packed (stuff for me..hubby...2 adult sons...daughter-in-law...2 grandkids.) Told him i didn't have to be. Walked out with 3 full bags for under $65. He was shocked. Sure some of it is more expensive than other thrift stores but it is also better quality. More upscale name brands than most thrift stores. It more like a cheap consignment store. If you pay attention to tags and sales, its really not expensive at all. read more

Village Discount Outlet - All this under $20. Liz Claiborne, Talbots, Calvin Klein, and Worthington. Some stii had tags on them! Still think its too expensive???? - Thrift Stores Near Me - Akron, Ohio

Always love being here! So much variety and so much to look at! Staff is a tad stand off-ish but never rude. Sometimes the line can be a tad long if only one register is open but what can you say it's a pretty popular shop! read more

Was accused of "changing tags" (didn't know that was even a possibility) and refused service by Corrina. Will never be back. And they start announcing the store is closed (at 7) when they're actually closed at 8. read more

My go to for large selection at super cheap prices. I go on tuesdays when they have 50 cent color tags for anything under $13.

Overpriced. Looking for Nikes? Expect to pay at least $25 up to $100. Pretty shady to charge this much for stuff they get for free!

No open dressing rooms. They are 90% clothes and have no open dressing rooms for people to try them on. Also very overpriced for normal clothes items. the dressing rooms that were there are filled with boxes and marked as "storage use". not so good read more

try to always go on sunday's or when i get the text alerts for sales on what i'm looking for, they are pretty decently priced and always have a great selection read more

Sales rotate, organized by size and color for kids clothes. Organized by style for adult clothing. Mostly clothing. Very little glass/records/handbags. Only one cashier until the line got long and then 4 lines were open and the line was gone in no time! Very nice people that I talked with, customers and staff. We filled a large bag and a half for 40$ read more

Very expensive. Not my favorite thrift store. Even with New Years discount plus a 10$ off promotion my items came down to what you'd pay at a regular thrift store read more

Hubbs goes here and it's ok but the allergies run rampant in this place. It's kinda like that for any thrift store, however prices here not so great and some stuff had holes in it so I thought the prices could've come down for items like that. read more

Save your time, you'll probably find a better price on eBay than in this store! They seem to forgotten that they are a THRIFT store!

I have never seen a more over priced thrift store in my life. The prices were shocking. You are better off going to the mall. The store was clean and somewhat organized which is the only positive thing I can say. Seriously, they are 2-3 times higher then Salvation Army and goodwill and their prices are bad enough. For example: forever 21 and express sweaters were 10-15 each. That gives you an idea of what to expect. Ridiculous. read more

I really like this place I got a few popular branded clothes for a very good deal I just wish they were more organized by size..they seem to be organized by color and its hard to find a shirt or something u like then have to check the size and see if it fits rather than have everything grouped by size and have u pick from that..just makes more sense that way..they did have good stuff though if u dig..some of it is a little over priced but they have good sales on other stuff too so not a terrible deal read more

This isn't one of my favorite thrift spots, but I stop in anytime they're having a 50% off everything event. They do have a lot of merchandise, but I never find that much. Since I only go once or twice a year, I probably can't comment too much on their daily offerings. I am giving this location three stars mainly because of the customers you will have to deal with here. There's a duo of gay men that are always here on the 50% days. They must have a resale shop because they basically grab every dress. I want to like these guys because in theory they should be awesome. However, they cut you off, block dresses, and gloat about grabbing every dress they THINK is vintage. I'm not even sure they buy strictly vintage, but I can tell you where ever their shop is, it is full of ugly crap. I peeked in their cart today expecting to be jealous, but instead I was repulsed. While checking out, some woman decided to rant to me about the Pee Wee Herman gentleman who accompanied her. Apparently, he thinks the clothing she picks out for her three year old granddaughter makes her look promiscuous. He was creeping at the end cap grinning at me while she shared her complaint. I've never been happier to receive my receipt and bolt. I did find two dresses, three dvds, a sewing caboodle filled with new spools of every color of thread and two tops. My girlfriend found a few T-shirts and a barney comforter. If you can look past the fellow shoppers, it's worth going. You also may fare better on a day without special events. read more

been shopping here for about 4 years now and its my favorite store in the world. they have plants, amazing cheap name brand clothing (hollister for 1$ as well as other brand new beautiful stuff for under 5$) and everyone is so polite and helpful. my go to store always read more

There is also a Village Discount Outlet in Cuyahoga Falls on State Road. I love both equally...they always have some kind of tag discount day going on just about every day of the week as well as early bird specials, i.e. one day all yellow tagged items will be $0.75. These places have all of their clothing super organized, which is pretty impressive for a thrift store if you ask me. They also have a Facebook page that will let you know which discounts are coming up. They sell (obviously) used clothing and goods but they also have a lot of new overstock juniors clothing for a little bit higher price, but nothing compared to what you would pay for it in any other store. I love this place:) read more

This store & the one in Cuy Falls, can't get any better and that is the truth. I have been pleased with good service, good deals and have had a fun time while going to this store. I always find something! read more

Meh. Their prices are WAY WAY WAY to high for items that are DONATED!! AmVets collects the items & then I believe Village purchases by the pound. They they price stuff too high. Once in awhile you can find a deal, but not worth the time & effort, if you ask me. I'd go to Savers up around Cleveland for some really great deals - well worth the time & drive to head up - there are 3 of them. Much better pricing, too. read more

This is my favorite thrift store. Some people say it's too expensive. However when I got a pair of shoes, a pair of jeans, 2 t shirts and a sweatshirt for $18 altogether I beg to differ. You have to play the game. Everyday they have half off for two specific tag colors. Only buy the stuff that's half off! Found something for full price? Wait till it goes on sale..that's part of the game. Their Facebook will tell you the sales they're having. I love to spend a couple hours picking through their stuff. I don't use fitting rooms I just eyeball for size and I've rarely been wrong.. So I can't comment on fitting rooms. They have a huge selection and the racks are sometimes even too tight where you can't even move the hangers down the rack. They organize by color in everything but pants are by size (at least for women's). They have a section of "betters" which I don't get because its often not better at all.. Some of the new (tag still on) clothes they have is of extremely low quality and high price..so Look through the other thousands of items and you will find a deal trust me. read more

It was mostly clothing. The housewares were shoved in the back and they were pretty rough. Good pricing with the discounts.
