The Bomb Shelter is a hidden gem in Akron. It's part thrift store, part museum, packed with vintage cars, tools, clothing, jewelry, and all kinds of unique finds. Always worth a visit to see what's new!

This is my new favorite store in Akron! I had heard of The Bomb Shelter and I was mostly expecting to see a lot of mid-century furniture for sale. They do have some great furniture pieces, but there is so much more to find here. They have a great selection of salvage building items and vintage smalls like holiday decor and sewing notions. They have a whole room of vintage clothing, and nicely curated displays of records, kitchen items, toys, fishing gear, etc. The shop is quite large and fun to explore all of the rooms, some of which have museum quality exhibits of cars and TVs. The Christmas merchandise was beautifully displayed and the prices seemed very reasonable for the selection and quality. Service at check out was friendly.

This place has been on my bucket list for awhile. It's really cool! Great selection of vintage items and honestly really good value for the products, and I'm usually cheap! Really cool vibes and different sections of the store. I will serve returning!

Even if you're not looking to buy anything, this place is a museum. There's so much cool old stuff to look at. Cars, medical devices, camping ear, you name it if it's old it's under the roof.

Can't wait to see what's inside

Hello 1950 1960 and 1970. This place is like stepping back in time. Kitchenettes. Camping sites and army desks are just a few of the spaces that they created.

This place was awesome! Probably my new favorite vintage store, the prices weren't bad either. Everything was staged well too.

1900s steam trunk. Paid about $86 after taxes. Not too shabby. I love it.

I'm in love with this store! They have a little bit of everything at reasonable prices. I had been on the hunt for a 1900s steam trunk. I searched local stores to no avail. The Bomb Shelter has a fair selection of trunks. I found exactly what I had in mind. I took a chance and asked for a discount. 10 or 15% was given and they loaded the trunk into my vehicle. Can't beat that. I'm in love with the selection of vintage couches, chairs, and dining sets. Definitely check this place out!

This museum-like space makes you feel like you're in LA and I don't mean "Lower Akron"! The collections are meticulously merchandised and will interest shoppers and spectators of all ages. I love how fluid the space is- no dead ends or narrow aisles. Look up and down and enjoy the streaming of alternative music. The space is interesting, dynamic and fun and the collections represent infinite time wraps! The Bomb Shelter is porn for set designers!

A lovely selection of vintage dresses

The Bomb Shelter is one of the most amazing places I've ever been to in my entire life. They gave so many beautiful, vintage items. I bought a green suitcase from there and it is absolutely lovely. I wish that I could give this review more than just 5 stars but Yelp doesn't work like that.

Brought a girl on a date here as she loves antiques. She had a great time though they're not my thing. Spent around 2 hours here.

Staff here is friendly. It's got a decent amount of stuff here. I wish there was more food/drinks here personally. This store has everything else at decent bargain outlets that lm impressed on. The lady manager with no teeth thought it was appropriate to approach a four year old child in a very nasty manner accusing her of something she did not do. I tried to explain to her I am her mom and the proper thing to do is approach the adult that's holding her hand. She proceeded to yell and scream typical defensive behavior when your in the wrong. So she the start to follow me through the store yelling because I walked away from her. So I told her " get the hell away from me". She get upset and try to hide behind CFPD due to her disrespecting my child. The store was also very unkept someone brought a dog in the store where it was poop all in the aisles. If this is what represents Ollie's I would never shop here again. They should find employees who might care just a little bit. Worst experience ever

In last few years we have dropped a fair amount of money at Chez Del, however we've decided to move…read moreon. The issue is that far too much of the furniture looks like it came out of local hotels. Gaudy, Mediterranean style. The demographic they seem to be aiming at is 70 years old and above. I'm 63 and their inventory still reminds me of a trip to grandma's house or the lobby of an assisted living facility. There is nothing remotely modern, tasteful or stylish. I'm sure their buyers know their customer's tastes, but their customer base has to be dying off or aging to a point where they have little need for new furniture. I think Chez Del would be wise to update the styles they offer. In fairness, the staff is professional and friendly but I don't envy them having to move this stuff.

Just had to share how much I am in love with the furniture I've purchased from Chez Del in Akron,…read moreOhio! Over the past two years, I've purchased a few fill in pieces for my bedroom, breakfast room, and even an entire living room of furniture at Chez Del's popular summer warehouse event. I've always known exactly what I wanted, having an interior design background myselfl, and been able to make decisions easily. However, it was the purchase of my family room furniture that had me baffeled for the first time. I just couldn't narrow my ideas and decide on the right style and layout. With the help of designer Becky Harrell, my furniture was delivered this week and I am thrilled. Becky worked with me over a year and a half. She was gracious to quote multiple pieces, let me check out umteen samples of fabric and finishes, and never made me feel as undesisive as I knew I was being. She knew I wanted quality and I wanted a great price and so steared me to take advantage of the Chez Del fall upholstery sale. Becky came to the house and measured the room to put it into their design software and show me exactly how the furniture would sit in the room. We thought through all the fabrics and finishes and ultimately decided on a look that fit me, my family and our personality. With tons of family showing up for Christmas, the Chez Del team kept a last minute delivery slot open for me, followed up with manufacturers, and made sure we had furniture for our company. The delivery guys (Keith and Joe) are top notch. I'm a little picky and they took extreme care to cover my floors and carefully placed the furniture; often making slight adjustments to my liking. At installation, Becky informed me that the manufacturer of my sofas had left off a decorative feature I had ordered. Chez Del hired their furniture upholstery person to add the decorative features and handled the issue before I even knew about it. It was done perfectly and without my having to stress about it. That is excellent customer service! Bottom line, the furniture business is a tough one these days as manufacturing has changed a great deal. It's not unusual for the retailer to have to answer to quality issues, delays in shipping expectations, and a whole array of customer satisfaction issues. And, retailers are doing all this at lower margins and more online competetors than ever. Chez Del, their personal touch and expertise, is a gem in this fast changing marketplace. I'll continue to support them and the personal experience!
