    I was in need of a Credenza/Entertainment Center. I had been scouring the internet looking for one…read morein my desired dimensions, as well as color finish. That's when I came across Express Furniture in Akron , Ohio. Express Furniture was listing it at $100 cheaper than the next guy, so I called the number, and Mike answered the phone. Come to find out that Mike is the stores owner, and we spent at least 15 minutes, maybe more, talking. Come to find out that he has family in Southern California where I reside. Never less, I purchased the credenza thru Express Furniture, and Mike guaranteed me that it would be properly protected for shipment, which was reassuring after reading about other reviews on the woes of shipping furniture. Mike even sent me the assembly instructions in advance, so I knew what needed to get me prepared. I am a small business owner, such as Mike at Express Furniture is. Express…read moreFurniture sells similar products with just as expansive a selection (through catalog availability) made mostly by an Ohio based company. Most of the products they sell are made in the USA. The service here is simply spectacular. If I went looking for something to complain about I don't think I could find anything. Many other retailers, including big box stores and Amazon carry a select few of the same products, but provide a fraction of the service for a higher price.     I just had furniture delivered from MAAK Furniture on Friday 6/14/19. I have several issues with…read morethe delivery and merchandise. 1.) There is a chip in the leg of the accent chair. This is a $500 chair, for it being that much I would expect it to come without defects. I pointed it out to the man assembling it at my home and was asked if I would even want a replacement. Well of course I would. When Abe called me to follow up on these issues, he again asked if I wanted them to contact the manufacturer. Again, of course I would, I would like the furniture I purchased to not come damaged. 2.) The accent chair and pillows have strings coming off of them. Abe told me that this was how their furniture comes and to just cut them off. 3.) We were under the impression there were 2 nightstands that came with the bedroom set and it came with one. Abe said that he wrote down one. If we were only charged for one, then this isn't that big of an issue, but we were under the impression there were two. 4.) 2 box springs were delivered and they are completely different. Different colors, patterns, and even different elevations. Abe informed me that they are all the same and the manufacturer sometimes puts different fabrics on them and there may be a centimeter or so of difference between the heights. He also told me that once we "put a mattress on it, it won't be noticeable." 5.) The seem on the headboard is crooked. One side comes down about 7" from the top and the other is about 8" from the top. Abe told me that they can send the pictures to the manufacturer but they might not get anywhere on it because they could just say that's how they are made. 6.) The remote for the headboard seems to only work half of the time. Ae informed me that they could let the manufacturer know but they may not get anywhere on this either. 7.) There were several large staples left on the floor after the delivery guys had left. Abe said that that happens sometimes. I have an 8 month old baby crawling around that could have put one in her mouth! I only found the 7 or 8 that I did because I stepped on one and then crawled around myself to find the rest. 8.) I was asked where I wanted the furniture positioned in the rooms and they were not where I had said. I then had to drag the furniture by myself to where it was supposed to have gone. 9.) Trash for all items was left behind. We paid for delivery and assembly, we were never told that our garage would be full of trash and we would not be able to park in it until after the next trash day. I was originally happy with my experience at the store but it all went downhill as soon as the delivery happened. The vibe I am getting is that Abe only cares about his commission and not on any issues that occur after the fact. I understand some issues may arise, as with many large purchases. The problem is being brushed off after that fact and that there are so many issues. I shouldn't have to enforce that yes, I want products without defects. I would not recommend this store to anyone because of the post sale customer service alone.
