Wanted to stop by this place real quick to get a gift for a special someone. Keeping in mind that I…read moredon't smoke, I entered the building. All you could smell was different aromas of many cigars. After getting past the smoke, I glanced up and this place had a huge space for what seemed like many many rows and shelves of remarkable cigars. They say this is the largest cigar shop in Ohio. Definitely the largest I've seen. There was a sitting area located at the far end of the store for people to enjoy their preferences. Also, I don't know anything about cigars only a lil research previously looked up on the internet. The clerk was very very helpful! I told him a lil about the guy I was buying for as far as what he drinks and what mild, moderate and bold flavors and intensities I knew he liked. I asked about a few cigars that I researched and thought would be good and the clerk either reassured me that they were great Selections and/or made other great suggestions. He took his time and explained to me the details such as aging of cigar/drinks & what drinks he thought paired well with each cigar that I planned on purchasing. I thought that was exceptional and was quite surprised of the etiquette given. I didn't know it was so much to selecting a cigar. Its very personalized. Its like buying a vehicle....selection, taste & style is everything. Needless to say I left a big smile on my face with the selections I chose. I sure hope that special someone loves what I opted-in on !!

I'd expect to find something like this in the middle of Chicago - not next to a strip club. This is a surprisingly cool hidden gem in the area. They have a limited bar with virtually zero mixers and a walk-in humidor with cigars available for purchase. PROS: -Comfortable, armed lounging chairs and couches make up the majority of all of the seating here. All of the seating is very group-focused (four chairs face a table, etc.) for groups of friends. I would say I would have been uncomfortable smoking a cigar here myself; there's really no seating designed for single-person lounging, and I would have felt bad taking up a full four-person spread. -If you need to do work or are hanging solo, they have WiFi for customers. -Bathrooms are clean too. While the women's was out of paper towels, I snagged some out of the men's (two single-room restrooms). Both bathrooms looked surprisingly clean. -Really well ventilated. We actually didn't smell like cigars after leaving this place. -Parking lot right outside. Very easy to park and pop in, and lots of other people seem to come in, buy a cigar, and head right back out. CONS: -I really, really, really did not like the drink I ordered here. I'm not sure the bartender had any bartending experience. This place is very straight bourbon and whiskey forward with old-fashioneds being their most common drink. Two beer choices. No stouts or dark beers. You can't bring in your own options (understandably), but the bar options are limited if you aren't the stereotypical cigar smoker or are here as a non-cigar smoker here to keep someone company. -Multiple televisions were on the same channel, each with their own volume. Volume was not sychronized, however, so you had a constant 3-tier echo of the exact same program throughout the entire time we were here. -No one answered the phone the 5+ times I tried to call day-of despite being during their "open" hours. This makes it really hard to make sure it had what we were looking for.

There are meals that satisfy, and then there are meals that define an evening. My recent birthday…read moredinner at Sidebar Columbus fell squarely -- and triumphantly -- into the latter category. From the moment we arrived, the service set the tone for what would become an unforgettable dining experience. Our server, Lacey delivered hospitality with the kind of effortless grace that can't be taught. She anticipated needs before they were spoken, guided us through the menu with confidence, and maintained a warmth that made our table feel like the only one in the room. Wine & Cocktails: A Study in Balance and Craft The wine selection was superb -- thoughtfully curated, expressive, and perfectly paired with the richness of the evening's dishes. The cocktails were equally impressive, crafted with precision and a clear respect for balance. Each sip felt intentional, layered, and celebratory. The Paella: A Showstopper But the true star of the night was the paella -- a dish so masterfully executed it deserves its own ovation. The rice was tender yet structured, infused with deep saffron warmth and kissed with just enough socarrat to make any purist smile. The seafood was impeccably fresh, each component cooked to its ideal texture. It was the kind of paella that silences a table, not out of politeness, but out of reverence. When the chef personally came out to greet us, it only reinforced what the dish had already made clear: this is a kitchen led by someone who cooks with both technique and heart. A Birthday Elevated My husband orchestrated the evening beautifully, and Sidebar rose to meet the moment with finesse. Our guests were genuinely impressed -- not just by the food, but by the seamless choreography of service, ambiance, and attention to detail. It felt less like a dinner and more like a curated celebration Final Thoughts Sidebar Columbus delivers the rare combination of exceptional cuisine, polished service, and heartfelt hospitality. The paella alone is worth crossing the city for, but the entire experience -- from Laceys attentive care to the chef's personal touch -- transforms a simple night out into something memorable. For anyone seeking a dining experience that feels both elevated and warmly personal, Sidebar stands confidently at the top.

Great food and awesome service from the staff in the bar. My Old Fashioned hit the spot. The Spicy Potatoes are amazing, as is the Caprese Salad and Grilled Chicken Jalapeno pizza.
