Glad I finally did. They've just introduced The Joker, their NEIPA, which has peach and vanilla. The vanilla is great, really adds a nice smoothness. I'm not getting the peach though. This one is quite sweet, even for a milkshake IPA. To fill out the rest of the flight I tried their brown ale and stout as well as IPA. All were good. I'm partial to their Brewmaster Blonde so I grabbed a 6 of that as well as the IPA to fill up my beer fridge. Unfortunately they didn't have 6's of The Joker.

They do small batch brewing, and their beer menu has its core line and new brews that are varied and almost experimental at times!! One thing about Dandy, you know that scene in Ratatouille? Where the critic takes a bit of the food and goes back to his childhood. I have had that happen to me at least FOUR times either eating or drinking something for the first time. In total that has happened to me probably 8 times since I moved to Calgary, the other times have all been single experiences at different restaurants. The food menu is a bit pricey, as well as the beer, but you are not paying the jacked up price of another restaurant that is carrying a Dandy product. We tried an IPA and a raspberry ale and the IPA was better overall than the fruit beer, but we enjoyed them both overall. We had some French onion soup and chips and queso and both were very tasty overall. We didn't get to stay too long since we still had a lot of traveling to do, but we would definitely stop here again when we're in Calgary and we'd recommend it to anyone who's in the area.

The New Zealand meat pies were good, flaky crust and something a little different. The key to our successful experience was the kids' charcuterie- $4 for a juice box, orange, goldfish crackers, cheese string, blah blah shut up and take my money. For those of you who don't know, $4 to keep your kid busy while you drink beers is 100% the best thing ever.
