I can't say enough great things about this place. Riley's Bakery is a staple of Cornwall's downtown…read morecommunity and easily one of my favourite lunch stops. The only complaint I can think of is if you show up between 11:30am and 12:30pm, there is a good chance the line will be backed out the door. On this particular occasion I made it right around 11:30 am and I only had 4 people in front of me in line. The bakery is run by the same two people day in and day out, Rob and Anna. They can come off a bit standoffish at first but nothing could be further from the truth. Rob spoke to all 4 people ahead of me and even knew some of them by name and things going on in their lives. On this visit I had a cup of Chicken Gumbo and a Turkey Sandwich. The Gumbo was full of sausage and veggies and had a nice flavour to it. The sandwiches however really are the star of the show here as Chuck pointed out. The bread was so fresh it was still warm. And the turkey piled about 3 inches thick. I opted to add cheddar cheese for the bargain price of $0.50 bringing the price to $6 for the soup and sandwich. An unbelievable bargain! Not only would I recommend Riley's bakery but would consider it a necessary stop if you visit Cornwall. You won't be disappointed.

I'm a fan of Di Rienzo in Ottawa and so I knew I would be hard to satisfy. This place is tha bomb! The bread is so good, a little touch of sweet in it, the owner is funny and diligent. Great dessert as well! If they were open at night I would be there twice a week!

Nice little bakery in Orleans. I stopped in with my mom and we bought some baked goods, and they…read morewere pretty good. We got a croissant and a pecan butter tart. Then we noticed their "baked yesterday" section. They had 2 chocolate almond croissants wrapped in a bag for $1. Hello? $0.50 for a chocolate almond croissant? I'm in! They looked and felt fresh to me, not all dry and stale. They don't have prices on all their items, so I'm not sure how much everything else cost individually, but the total with taxes was a little over $5 for everything. Staff were really nice, when one of the ladies saw me putting the butter tart into one of the paper bags they had out, she asked me if I wanted a box. The place also looked very clean. The plain croissant was pretty good. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pecan butter tart filling was soft and gooey. The crust was ok, but I'm not usually a fan of pie crust. The chocolate almond croissants did not taste day-old to me at all. It was still crispy on the outside (despite being in a plastic bag) and flaky. The inside was full of almond paste and there were chocolate spots throughout. Such a deal for $0.50! My mom loves pastries, so I'm glad to find a place not too far from my parents' place. I might have to stop here occasionally to pick up some treats before coming over. Everyone loves guests bearing gifts, lol. The bakery has no signage on the actual building (at least not at the time of the writing of this review), the sign is in the parking lot. Look for that sign!

The manger indicated she'd look into the batch of icing, taste test it. After a week I still hadn't heard from her so I tried to follow up. Three calls (the staff kept telling me she'd be in later and they'd have her call me, almost scripted), two emails and a social media message she finally called me back. She said she was out of town (but each time I called her staff said she'd be in later). She said the batch of icing was all gone. It had been used on other cakes and that she wasn't able to test it. She asked me what I was looking for, what would make me happy (ummm to have the icing taste tested). She offered a cake or a fair refund. We settled on half my money back. While I appreciate the money back I don't appreciate having to make so many calls, two emails and a social media outreach for a resolution.
