Absolute best experience we've ever had and we've had countless. I'm surprised at some of the reviews. I see here because I have not had this experience at all and we've been coming for a while now. Also, if you read the reviews on Google, there are hundreds of outstanding raving reviews, just like mine Dr. Villa was absolutely amazing with my son and what we needed. My son was diagnosed legally blind at a very young age and with very specific Vision challenges. That said we've struggled finding Doctor Who fully understood the conditions and getting correct prescriptions, etc. We ended up with a challenging Vision education specialist at my son's school who required deep, explanations and documentation to fully understand what was needed for his IEP and for his ongoing education challenges. Dr. Villa went above and beyond for all of this. I cannot express just how extraordinary she is. In fact, I learned more from her about my son's challenges in just a few visits compared to years with other doctors and even vision therapists. On top of this, because we were under a deadline, she even took us before official office hours. I can honestly say that her help was not just above and beyond, but it was absolutely something that impacted my son's schooling forever. No more constant battles trying to explain to his teachers and vision specialist about his condition and no more struggle to get the correct prescriptions. She got everything sorted for us. She's an absolute angel and I'm so grateful we found her. read more

Very attentive personnel. Dr Villa was very knowledgeable and patient to my 96 year old father. Very easy to book appointment on line. I filled out all my father information on line after I made the appointment for him and the day of the appointment we just got there sign in with the receptionist showed insurance cards and got called within 5 minutes. I went to this optometrist based on a recommendation and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from start to finish. Prior to scheduling my appointment, I specifically called to ask whether they accepted CareCredit as a form of payment. I was reassured that they did, and the front desk even confirmed it with someone in the back before booking my visit. However, when I came in for my appointment and it was time to pay, I was told they do not accept CareCredit. Instead of taking responsibility for the misinformation, the staff repeatedly pushed me to pay using another method and began questioning me about who I spoke with and when I called, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. I came in to order a year supply of contact lenses. During the exam, the doctor told me my prescription had changed based on their testing and ordered a different prescription than what I've had for years. Although my prescription hasn't changed in quite some time, I trusted the doctor's recommendation. Once the contacts arrived, I immediately noticed they made my vision blurry. I contacted the office right away and asked if I could come back in to have this rechecked. Instead of working with me to resolve the issue, I was told to just purchase reading glasses to "fix" the problem. My issue isn't limited to reading, it affects my everyday vision and reading glasses do not address that. I never heard back from the doctor directly. All communication was through the front desk, and there was no real attempt to recheck the prescription or make things right. It makes no sense to go in for contacts to avoid wearing glasses, only to be told to spend more money on reading glasses that don't even work for the issue. Overall, this office showed poor communication, lack of accountability, and no real effort to resolve issues once payment was involved. I would not recommend this practice if you expect accuracy, follow-up care, or customer support. read more

Their frames are overpriced and their business practices are shady. I went there twice and got two completely different price quotes for lenses. They tried to explain it by saying I was "confused" but I wasn't. I ended up going to Costco and got the lenses for a fraction of the price they were quoting me. I also got the same frames for a fraction of the price online. Do your research! read more

The doctor is very knowledgeable and kind, I would give her 5 stars, if it wasn't for the fact that she requires a test that is not covered by insurance, can not be declined, and costs the customer 39$ I just wanted to get my children reading glasses for the school year but can't afford extras in 2025. I came here about 5 weeks ago for an exam and new glasses. Picked up my glasses a couple weeks later. Tried them on in-store, they felt and looked great. There did seem to be cloudy area, but I figured they just needed cleaning and that someone accidently left a finger print on the lens. The glasses came with a soft case, no cleaner cloth. I used them once as soon as I got them. After that, they stayed on my desk for about a month. My old hard case was to small for the new pair. I didn't feel comfortable carrying the glasses in the soft case, hence while they rested on my desk. When I finally got the appropriate cleaning materials, the lenses have scratches all over the place. I contacted them and was told it's not covered under warranty. What a waste of time, energy, and money. I have medi-cal, so I only had to pay the $39 fee for some stupid test I didn't want nor need. I'm now using my old glasses, using the same cleaning method, and guess what? No scratches. In summary, the staff is friendly. The quality products are poor. If you like cheap quality glasses, this is the place for you! Please don't bother responding to the message with "We apologize for the inconvenience, we appreciate your feedback, etc." You sold me cheap glasses that were flawed from the get go. read more

I am new to the area and needed my eyes checked and a new prescription for glasses. I found Dr. Angelica Villa and her lovely staff using Google maps! What a find!!!! The social distancing starts the minute you walk in the door, your temperature is taken, there is hand sanitizer on the table and the support staff is kind and thorough, making sure everyone is safe. And then you meet Dr. Villa who is a saint! Patient, thorough and so careful that you get the right prescription for your eyes. I highly recommend using Villa Optometry for all your eye care needs. There was nothing inherently wrong with my experience with Villa Optometry, but I am definitely left feeling frustrated. My typical clinic was going through some transitions and I needed a new prescription while things were settling into place, so I decided to try out Villa Optometry. The exam was okay, but my biggest area of frustration was the final pricing. I discussed options and I was led to believe the pricing was competitive for a year supply and I left believing I had ordered a year supply. Since the pricing was similar to previous costs of ordering a year supply from Costco, I did not notice the discrepancy and decided to just order through Villa Optometry for the convenience. However, I realized I was burning through my "year supply" very quickly and I reached out to Villa Optometry only to learn I had apparently ordered and received only a half year supply instead of the full year supply I thought I was paying for. Lesson learned: be sure to confirm exactly what you're ordering and what you're paying for, and maybe ask for an itemized receipt to avoid any miscommunication, confusion, and having to pay nearly double the price. read more

First of all!!! I love the costumer service! I came at 4:30 pm as a walk in first time patient! It's better to have an appointment though, just to be considerate! But I got lucky and Dr. Villa was able to see me. Everything was clean and the office smelt good! There were no complications. I have talked about getting contact lens and getting an eye exam. Dr. Villa was so sweet, patient, and very informative. She really wants what's best for you and what is fit for your liking!!! I love how she is informative with everything and was able to help me with what's best for me!!! I was excited to get my contacts and now I'm even more excited to get my colored ones too! Just make sure to call in advanced for an appointment. I just did a walk in because I came from another optimist whom told me the day of my appointment that my insurance wasn't covered by them.. so I was really upset and I was excited to get contacts; as I am a first time user of contacts and I know it's a process (fitting and getting used to contacts)- they had me use trial lenses to get the feel of contacts and get used to wearing them- I wanted to get contacts for the events happening in my life this month! So that was my impulse to do a "walk- in" BUT very advisable to call because they could be busy that day! Very disappointed because this was a waste of time. I decided to go through this place because my insurance (medical) accepted it, however the eye doctor gave me a terrible prescription. Way off, had me tripping out when I walked outside wearing them. Should have just gone to LensCrafters in the beginning because then I wouldn't have wasted my time. LensCrafters has awesome high tech eye exams and you get your classes within two hours of doing your eye exam... at NO EXTRA COST. Awesome!!! read more

Dr. Villa was fantastic a couple of days ago my son who is affected by autism went and they treated him great as well. Very friendly, efficient, and thorough! I was greeted by receptionist/tech?, filled out my forms, and I was taken back immediately for part of the exam. She cleaned whatever I had to touch or put my face on. Afterwards, I was greeted by Dr. Villa who thoroughly went over my medical history. I've had several eye exams in the past, but never one where things were explained to me in a way I could understand, until Dr. Villa. She is very friendly,knowledgeable, and attentive. She addressed all my concerns, provided me with some great education (I was asking questions that would not even pertain to me, but I was just curious). She really took her time with me and answered all my questions. I felt like no question I asked was too silly or unimportant. She is truly a friendly and caring doctor. The whole time I was thinking "Now, why can't all doctors be like her?" Her staff is also great and friendly. I sat down and the lady (I wish I can remember your name, sorry!) helped me select some nice frames. She also provided me education and reinforced what Dr. Villa had taught me about the specific type of lenses I would be getting. After months of COVID restrictions and new protocols (social distancing, masks, etc), I felt that almost any interaction I've had with any type of service person always had some level of tension or anxiety mixed in. Whether a lack of good customer service or just feeling like everyone is on edge- it's been hard. Today, my appointment with Dr.Villa made me valued and cares for! new to this office and my wife, my daughter, and I made appt to be seen here. My daughter and my appt went well, but my wife was rescheduled 3 times and when she was finally there she sat 45 minutes past her appt time when someone else ( whose appt was after hers was called back) so my wife said she had to go after being there for at least an hour without being seen! She left and the doctor or the office never called back to apologize and to make sure everything was ok. My girlfriend was having eye redness for about 3 weeks and was stressing about surfers eye. Shr had been looking for a comfortable looking place for an eye exam, she hasn't had one in 10 years. I was going to Dr. Villa for about 5 years and while I liked the optometrist, the some of the staff she employs are very unprofessional. They have made a number of mistakes and instead of taking accountability for them, they have blamed me. Most recently my insurance changed and I informed them of this. However, instead of getting the correct information from me, they used incorrect information and OVERCHARGED me significantly. When I brought this to their attention in April, I was told I would be getting a refund... but I have not received the refund yet and its almost July. I spoke with Dr. Villa about the issue and her unprofessional staff. She assured me I would get a refund for being WAY over charged for my glasses (I haven't) and that the staff would send me an email that would allow me to get my prescription for contacts to take somewhere else and I never received that either. I have five years worth of examples of her staff's poor attitude and behavior, but I stayed because I liked her as a doctor. Even though as a doctor I did really like her, I would not recommend her practice to anyone if she employs individuals who are allowed to treat patients in this manner. Failing to check a patient's insurance, over charging them, and then NOT refunding them when you are made aware of the mistake is unethical and I'm pretty sure illegal. I'm super disappointed that this was not taken care of when I originally addressed it. Do yourself a favor and find an optometrist who doesn't employ shady immature staff. read more

The office was very clean and staff was very welcoming upon arrival. Dr. Villa was amazing with my daughter who is 4 and was very thorough when explaining everything. Once my consultation with Dr. Villa was done, I was helped by Norma, who was supposed to help in finding the right fit glasses for my daughter. She gave me only a couple of options to choose from and in order for me to know if they were the right fit, I pulled down my daughter's mask just below her nostrils and Norma immediately yelled at me and told me that I had to keep my daughter's mask on at all times. I understand the policies that different offices have regarding mask wear. However, the reaction I got from Norma was unacceptable. There was no need for her to yell at my daughter and walk away from us. She left the room without helping us and came back minutes later with a horrible attitude and repeatedly stated that she did nothing wrong. I had to step outside to recollect myself and when I came back in the office, I requested to be helped by another employee. When helped by this employee, everything was much easier and smooth. She was able to let my daughter pick the color of glasses she wanted and was extremely helpful. If it was not for the other employees help I would of not consider going back because of how Norma treated my daughter and I the customer service was horrible on her end and definitely needs improvement. read more

Dr. Villa was very kind and patient. She took her time explaining, in detail, everything that she was doing, and was very understanding about me asking so many questions. I'm 29, and had never had an eye exam (I know, that's crazy) and she made me feel at ease during the whole process.
