Avoid at all cost. 0.5 start at best. I went there for snow tubing, skiing and the place is the worst place ever. My kids age ranging 10-3 could hold the rope lift. All other kids were having problem too and they were all crashing on each other, but the rope lift operator didn't turn this off. SAFETY issue!!!!! The employees vere very unfriendly, the place is overpriced big time. $39.00 for lift tickets that you can't even use???? It was my first time and my last time. I was so excited to take my family to the Sunday brunch for my 20th anniversary to my husband. We both had been there as kids and remembered it being a great, clean place with amazing food. Things definitely change. The food was terrible. We went for brunch. There were 3 hot things of breakfast food in the center and the rest was lunch items. The cheese platter was warm, the desserts were terrible, and omlette/waffle line was so long I got tired of waiting. If you want a drink besides the warm juice and warm milk they offer, you have to hunt down your "waitress" (who never came to our table once except to bring the bill which I had to ask for, then stood hovering while I signed--awkward!!) The bathrooms smelled disgusting, toilet paper all over the floor, and out of soap in one dispenser. The busboys were so busy on their phones that one of them almost tripped over my youngest son. I was at Villa Olivia two weeks ago on wedding for my friend . They remodeled the whole place it looks very nice. However I had a really really bad experience with girl from sales office her name is Jessica , looks like she doesn't have any experience in sales .I was there with my friend when she booked the wedding, she promised her a lot of stuff for wedding reception , wine , free cake , open bar etc. Gues what ,she didn't have any of that. She's very unprofessional and rude , Not good for salesperson . She was making faces when we were in her office. If my friend doesn't speak English like she was born here, It doesn't mean that she have to make faces . Just because of Jessica I will not go back to Villa Olivia And any of my friends and relatives, Maybe one day when she's gone. read more

My husband and I recently got married at Villa Olivia and we absolutely loved it! Courtney was our main contact and she so helpful, flexible and very responsive. Our hostess and staff the night of the wedding were amazing and so friendly. The hostess worked with us to make more room for out photo booth and slightly move tables around when we had to move the ceremony inside. The venue was absolutely beautiful! I was a little upset that we wouldn't be getting married under the arch outside by the fountain because of the weather, but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to find they had set up an arch inside. It made me so happy! We had the Crystal room and it was the perfect size for the 175 guests we had and looked gorgeous with the up lighting we had from our DJ. The food was incredible! We had the steak, chicken cordon bleu, and eggplant parmesan and all of it was cooked to perfection. All of our guests raved about the food ( and shot skis) for days after the wedding. Brought 20 people for brunch today. Decent food set up and selection for $17/person. The service was terrible. Our waitress helped us get 2 additional chairs when we arrived, then we never saw her again even to get the bill. No help getting drinks or anything else. We had to stop random service people to get anything. I couldnt even get a Pepsi. Finally waived down some random busboy to help get a check which we did get from a new waitress. We had our wedding here on October 4th. We were supposed to have the ceremony outside but it ended up being unseasonably cold. I called Jessica, the events manager, and she was so helpful! She and her staff moved the ceremony inside on very short notice and made everything beautiful. The ceremony and reception were fantastic, all our guests loved the food, and the wait staff and hostess did a great job. In the months leading up to the wedding Jessica was always very quick to respond to emails and always very helpful. The rest of the banquet staff was great as well, I always felt like I could call or email and get a quick and correct response. I would recommend this venue to anyone I know planning a wedding. read more

Went to snowtube on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy and you pay $20 for two hours. It is run by a bunch of teenagers who are not supervised. You have to roll off the tube at the top of the lift and they did not bother to tell me this. Therefore a tube clog takes place, which is not fun. The hill itself is fast and goes straight down. More for kids than anything else but if your looking to have some fun two hours, this is good. read more

my husband Joel Dela Cruz and I got married recently. It was held at Villa Olivia. While we enjoyed our wedding, unfortunately, this place has disappointed us. First, money and things were stolen in the bridal room. This room was supposed to be used only by us but we have witnesses who saw Villa Olivia employees going in and out of that room. Second, my guests and I kept noticing banquet servers hanging around and touching the "money box" and we later found out envelopes went missing. Third, many of our guests said they received turkey instead of pork loin. We spoke to the management but they were not helpful at all and instead they suggested that we file a police report which we did. We found out we were not the first ones to file an issue with Villa Olivia. So please be warned before you book your events. Make sure they have a good reputation and are responsible. We have in the past had many wonderful events at Villa Olivia. Since being taken over by the Park District my first experience with a large Non Profit fundraising event was not good. Basically the event planner told us one thing ,and then when we arrived all of the seating, table charts were changed. When we asked to have it fixed the Restaurant Food and Beverage manager told us that he would need at least 2 hours by himself to complete the changes since he had just sent his entire staff home..This would take us into the starting time of the event. He was extremely rude, and the icing on the cake was his exasperation at our putting color coded square on each person's place card to help the servers with food placement. When i explained that this is how we were told to do it by the event planner, he told me that I interrupted him and he refused to speak to me for the rest of the evening.He also made it very clear that the Restaurant was not the old Villa but the Park District and there were new rules!!!! Tables were set with fewer place settings and had to be changed for larger tables as guests had already been seated at the tables. Chaotic to say the least! The head waitress in charge of the event was extremely helpful and professional, and the food was generally good. I can just imagine though a Bride arriving at her wedding to find the floor plan totally changed and having the interaction that I did with the Food and Beverage Manager. With the economy the way it is, and 150 Parent's of High school students in attendance , (future weddings) you would think the Restaurant would bend over backwards and want good PR. NOT THE CASE! In the end I would not ever hold an event here again. The stress was not worth it! There are too many wonderful Banquet facilities that would value our business. read more

Think twice before you enter!! On September 30, 2106 my son and his new wife had contracted them for his wedding reception. They had his room all set up nicely and everything was going fine until my son the groom found out that the bar tender was being rude to our guests, the guest would ask for a certain drink and he would reply you cant have that because I don't have the stuff to make it pick something else and I'll see if I got it. The problem was for the first hour of drinking. During the cocktail hour they were serving my guest bottom shelf and my son contracted to serve top shelf. When asked to announce to my guest they had made an error they would not, so in turn it appeared as tho My son went the cheapo way on the booze. The way they(Villa Olivia) decided to fix the problem was to serve an extra half of bar and begin using top shelf liquor. We didn't, get what we bargained for so we lost out and Villa Oliva made more money. Also, they would not give my guests, who could not finish their dinner, a Styrofoam box to put their food in to bring home, what restaurant doesn't do that I ask you, come on, where's the decency in that, so needles to say, I the father of the groom had to plea to the staff, to give me one, and that's what they did, gave me one they said they don't do that for no one. BS. Normally at most places you attend weddings, they would put a large pot of coffee out on the sweet table to serve yourself, in this case, if you can't track a wait staff to ask them for coffee you don't get it, period, how embarrassing is that. Here's a good one while the bride was trying to enjoy her wedding night some women from the place was following her around the dance for stating there was one extra guest and she wanted $93 in cash and she wanted it now. So she began crying and went to her mother and her mother gave this woman the money to get her off the brides back, this is disgraceful. Had I known that was going on they would have not gotten one dine, there was at least 5 no shows that night. I think this woman counted wrong and put the money in her pocket and took advantage of 2 women that night. At most weddings I have been to at the end of the night what ever wedding cake is left over it is usually cut up and wrapped up and set out on a table for the guest to take home not here they wrapped it up whole and just left it. APPALLING!!!! I lived in Bartlett all my life paid taxes here for 34 years this place is ran by the Bartlett Park District, what a disgrace it seemed like that staff did not want to be there. In regards to the Villa Olivia comment. I have had nothing but the best of service from Cherie and staff. I have had the pleasure to know Cherie 10 plus years. She is one of the most honest and sweet people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Every time i come up here i always have the best times. She's very helpful and does not have one mean bone in her body. To the D.J. i find this very hard to believe. You must of had a very bad day. I dont think Cherie had anything to do with your bad experience. Or was her name just thrown in to the mix cause u were mad or upset with someone else? The sign-up was devastating because I called 14 times in the afternoon to sign up and they didn't pick up- on a business day! But for the skiing part of it, I had a blast. Nico is the best- he helped me every time when I fell, and when everyone was up the hill, he would come down to the hill just to help me. You should be thankful if you get him as your instructor. Villa Olivia just hosted my Daughter's Bridal Shower. Food was delicious , staff was VERY helpful and friendly. The room was beautifully decorated. For it being late October the GTB and his party was able to get a round of golf in. Reasonably priced all around. Would recommend Villa Olivia highly. read more

The WORST golf experience EVER. Where do I even begin. Ignorant, rude, nasty attitudes, immature, unprofessional, disrespectful, negative behavior. I mean the list can go on and on. What started out as a memorable and fun gathering quickly turned into the most regrettable moment ever. First and foremost this entire situation took place before the first hole was even completed, the ranger named Tom had a sour attitude from the get go. He would roll his eyes when someone in the party missed their shot and had an annoyed look on his face the entire time. He then proceeded to tell the bridal party in a very loud aggressive voice that they needed to "hurry up" because they were "holding everyone up" mind you only 2 out of the 9 people had taken their shot. Last time I checked villa Olivia was open to the public, not just professionals, so, sorry if they weren't tiger woods or anything. One of the groomsman asked if he would be going along with them the entire tee times. Tom again with an attitude said yes and decided to go up to the groomsman chest to chest in an attitude of wanting to fight him and than proceeded to use PROFANITY towards him (we had minors in the group) Not to sure what other establishments you all have been too, but never has profanity been the "norm" The bridal party obviously didn't want to be treated this way and decided to go back for a refund. Again not one full round at the first hole was played. Now on to management. Hoping that management would be there to help in the situation, they did the complete opposite. The accused the group of only wanting money back because the course was "too hard" to play and that they were cheating the system. When a manager was asked for, a man named Jason came to the counter. After telling him the situation. He laughed at their faces and agree with everything his staff had said. Oh and Tom, yea he denied acting that way. Why is management laughing? Shouldn't they be problem solving, making the customer happy, resolving the situation. No instead Jason just laughed. After going back and forth they finally got their money back. Beyond lost for words at how the bridal party was treated. I will NEVER EVER bring any money into this business again. They are rude and very unprofessional. Trust me when I say I will never refer anyone there. I'll make it a point to stop people from coming here. STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE !!!!! read more

Went for Easter brunch yesterday. Had reservations for 8 people for 2:30pm and we were seated on time. However, the table wasn't set yet, so the 2 waitresses told us, that they would finish setting it and give us water and champagne while we were getting our food. Off we went for food and when we came back, there was water, but no champagne. Also, no napkins. I asked for napkins (they were setting the table behind us) and got them. However, still no champagne so we waited thinking she'd be back. Finally had to ask for champage when we were about halfway done with our first plates. And then she asked, "Do you want it now"? When else would we want it? The other waitress came back and took drink orders (from the table behind us and they had been seated after us) for only half of us and then promptly disappeared. Finally, the drinks came, but no one ever came back asking if we wanted refills. They weren't clearing our dirty plates either so we finally placed them on a different table. The food was ok (we'd been there a few times before and it's always the same food), but we were disappointed that there wasn't an omelette station like they have on regular Sundays. Service was very poor...though just a few tables over, I noticed that they did have an attentive waiter who was bringing drinks, clearing plates, ets. I was looking for somewhere special to take my mother for her birthday and I found their Sunday Brunch fantastic! For $15.95 a person including some types of drinks, one can enjoy the views of the golf course while munching on the familiar staples for breakfast and some lunch entrees. The menu is always online, with special holidays having a larger menu. Food was fantastic! I thought the dessert bar was so-so, as I'm a fan of sweets and I thought that it could be better. But, I was really there for the food. Because I eat out at least twice a week in restaurants, I can say the food is high quality. The "feel" inside an eatery is most important to me - and it felt good inside the place. All eight of us in the party agreed we'd go back there for the food and view. We were able to get window seats, but I noted that all seats in the banquet room were good for seeing the outsides. Service was great in that our glasses were constantly full and dirty plates were removed promptly. My mother raved about the ice cream and thought it was one of the best she's ever tasted. read more

Second time for a holiday brunch with family. Last time was over 12 years ago. It should have been the last. They then charged me for the buffet for my infant who came with his own baby food because they said we used a "chair" for him. But anyway...this time....Packed the diners in to make money and put all the buffet items into a very small and crowded room with no clear direction for which way traffic should flow. People were going in every direction and and servers were also coming in to replenish items which caused problems because it was not easy for them to access the buffet with all the guests packed in there in the lines around the tables. Food items that should have been hot were cold or luke warm. Dessert items ran out. Drinks were not refilled. Stuffing was burned. Cranberry sauce was watery. Beef was chewy and turkey had that reheated taste like it was cooked yesterday. For $30 per adult the quality of the items should have been better and the space provided for this buffet should have been opened up for diners. Instead they chose to pack in the guests and make it difficult to access the buffet. None of us thought any items that we tried in all of the buffet were good. Even the green beans were bad! We all just expected so much more for the price. It was mediocre at best. Be warned if you consider doing a buffet there! read more

I recently had my daughter's Quinceanera at Villa Olivia. My daughter had her heart on having it in the Crystal Room for years. We visited previously inquiring for a family wedding and she loved the room. I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to afford it, but with help from the banquet coordinators it was everything and more than we expected. From start to finish I was so pleased and impressed. I was able to drop off some centerpieces & other things before the event and the staff said they would take care of it, I was so glad I could just drop it off and go get other things done for our event. The hostess and the wait/bar staff for the night is what put it over the top for me! They were amazing! So attentive and professional. The food was hot and delicious, and ordered exactly how we talked about with the banquet coordinator. I had guests, adults & kids, who had gluten/soy allergies & 2 vegetarians, they were all accommodated according to their needs. I was so grateful that they could have a delicious meal and not have to worry about what they were eating. They also put a message up on their digital street sign for my daughter & she was so surprised & excited when she saw it. This was just one more way they went above what was expected. I would recommend this venue for any special occasion as well as the Sunday brunch, which we have previously attended. The service is great, the venue is beautiful, and the food was delicious! My daughter had her dream Quinceanera and we thank you for helping make that a reality! read more
