Upon arrival we were told that the men needed to be wearing jackets. I wish that our hotel had told us because my husband had packed one, but luckily the restaurant keeps spare jackets on site for just this situation. The large dining room is incredibly old school with beautiful brass dining chairs laden in blue and yellow striped fabric. When they brought out the wine list I thought it was a joke because it was the size of a dictionary! For dinner I had the beet tartare and the veal filet. The soy marinated tofu was a little bit of an odd flavor combined the beet dish but besides that it was quite good. My husband started with the gnocchi and it may have been the best dish of the night, it was dynamite. In my opinion, my veal filet was better than my husbands beef filet and I also really enjoyed the petite eggplant parmigiana that came with it. Soufflé and ice creams for dessert were a big hit, but I was especially pleased because I asked if they had some dark chocolates off menu and they brought me out a beautiful assortment that tasted as good as they looked. Great restaurant if you are looking for an elegant evening out on the town or an excuse to use the dinner jacket that you packed but thought you wouldn't need.

We booked this reasonably priced room in a guest house as we needed 2 beds and that is a challenge in Europe. We were pleasantly surprised by a less than 5 minute walk from the lago train station and the central bus stop less than a block in front of the hotel. It is also 1 block off the lake and many places to eat surround it. Very convenient. We had a room on the top floor(30 steps) the owner was happy to assist with carrying bags so not a problem.Room had a bunk bed and a twin bed, all very comfortable with crisp sheets and room for luggage. It had a wardrobe for clothes, rather large flat screen TV and free wi fi that was good on the top floor. The bathroom was large by European standards. There was a small shower in corner,electric plugs near sink, we borrowed a hairdryer from the front desk with a converter. The only complaint was as I am short I could barely see the top of my head in the bathroom mirror! No problem as there is a desk in the room with a standing mirror, for makeup. The place is spotless. There is a kitchen the floor below but we did not inquire about it s usage. There is a large window in the room where you can see the mountain. We enjoyed the fresh air option so did not use AC or heat. Building is very secure,codes provided but needed 3 locked entry s before getting to room. For the price and location and cleanliness this is a fantactic option in Como in the heart of things, everywhere is walkable!
