The Internet connection was poor very slow and even unavailable for some of the time. Florence is a lovely city and we enjoyed our stay overall.

I've gotten so busy with what life takes us through, and totally forgot to push the Post button. Oct 2018: Everything about this place is heavenly. The hotel, surrounding hills, the restaurant, the spa (think of living in the best place in the heart of Napa, or even better, actually). I have no words to describe this place/Hotel. This place wasn't on our Italy cities list. We didn't plan to stay here until 2 nights before we left Venice. A beautiful unforgettable drive from Venice to Florence, made a small detour for a night stay in a quieter and small village sort of scene, brought us to Artimino & we totally fell in love with Hotel Artimino, I literally thought of canceling rest of my Italy trip to just stay here for few more days. Clean hotel, inexpensive due to early October (off season or something) beautiful restaurant next to our hotel room/suite. Actually, our room was a huge townhouse with first floor dinning + small kitchen with living room and entertainment center + a bathroom. Second floor, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom + incredible hill views and super quite and serene. The hotel offers breakfast so don't miss it when you go there. The hotel also has an incredible spa with grape therapy soaking tub with choice of wine to enjoy as well. I didn't have time for spa as the only appointment available was in the evening the next day but since we were there only for a night, I could make it to that appointment due to our next train from Florence to Rome. If time and opportunity permits in the future and we go back to Italy, we will definitely make time to stay here for at least more than two nights!

I have no complaints about the room. It was clean, comfortable and well furnished. While it was indeed very small, we were able to move around with no problems. The bed was cozy but comfortable and hard, like most beds in Italy; (some extra pillows would've been appreciated, we had to roll up our clothes underneath to create a makeshift pillow). Everything was in perfect working order and the room's decor was homey and comfy. The common areas are adorable with a communal kitchen, workspace with computer, and tea / dining room. There are even two friendly fish by the entryway (I really wish they had a bigger bowl, though -- I am worried about their health and happiness)! The owner has really thought of everything -- there were tourist books in various languages, a nice coffee machine, fresh flowers in the room, an in-room refrigerator, nice toiletries and even umbrellas to borrow by the door. Upon check-in, the staff was eager to offer suggestions for places to see and things to do. On our departure day, they called us a taxi. It was great service. The room had a very modern bathroom with a lovely rainfall overhead showerhead with terrific water pressure. The bathroom space was cramped but not unworkable. There was no bidet, only a kitchen-style sprayer that came out of the wall. We laughed at that but we don't use bidets anyway. The property is difficult to find. Look for the Hard Rock Cafe (it's across the street) and the new Nespresso store (it's right next door). You can walk there from the train station but I wouldn't recommend it if you are carrying heavy bags. The location is phenomenal; you can walk just about anywhere you'd want to see in the city. I was thrilled with the location. I almost hate to write this review because I don't want to secret to get out! The #1 best thing about this hotel was the in-room A/C! It is INDIVIDUALLY CONTROLLED and cooled our room down like an icebox! This is so very important in Italy and Europe in general and as an American from a desert city, I know heat and I like to be cool. We were chilly as penguins at this property. The Elena small room had zero view, but it didn't matter to us (see my photos of the view from our room). We only slept there so I didn't care if we had a city view or not. The entire city is steps outside your door! We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It was served at a cafe around the corner / a short walk away. You can take a table inside or outside without paying any extra. We had breakfast there twice; the first time the employees seemed SUPER annoyed at all the B&B guests and were less than friendly and welcoming. The second day it was smiles all around. And yes, we speak Italian and communicated with them in their native language (though others did not; they were really annoyed at them)! Good, fresh and sweet pastries and tasty espresso. Note that this B&B is in a very old building that is shared with full-time resident tenants. You will see locals coming and going with their dogs, groceries, etc. There is only one very old-style cage elevator that, if it is ever out of service, you'd have a very hefty climb up several flights of steep stone stairs. Just be aware of this if you have mobility issues. I'm not sure a wheelchair would fit in the elevator either, just FYI. This is a beautiful, romantic B&B. And don't you dare call it a "hotel," the owner really, REALLY hates that! He will correct you (again and again) if you do.

My only complaint is when I booked the room online it clearly stated it had AC... The first night was horrible we had the AC on and it only pumped in hot air also the room we where in was sooo hot. After having a horrible nights sleep and being attacked by misquito's I called over to the main desk a woman answered when i asked about the AC her only response was " We recently switched the AC to heatas it was cold a few days ago" I asked if anything could be done as the room is miserably hot. The only thing she said was "i'll notify the owner" so we went out around Florence seeing all it had to offer only to come back to a VERY HOT room.

Orgasmic doesn't do this risotto justice. Many of us made the mistake of having seconds, not smart when having a five course meal. The second orgasm was as good as the first. By the time the filet came out, we were full, but happy to try this tender cut. It was cooked to a medium rare perfection and the presentation made it that much more delightful. I can go on, but you need to fill in your own blanks. Would I recommend? Read the review again! I cannot wait to return to Florence. This is a dining experience worth repeating every trip.

We did not go with the honeymoon suite based on the advice of our wedding planner and instead went with the room with the large balcony overlooking the garden which was just stunning. We were in Italy for 12 days and this was definitely our favorite place we stayed. Breakfast was amazing and included in the room price. Everyone spoke very good English and informed us about Florence and where to go, what to see, etc. Alina in particular was so sweet and helped us with anything we needed during our several months of planning. We used a wedding planner but Alina is definitely there to help you if you wanted to plan the wedding on your own. The food at the wedding was delicious and they took extra care in preparing a wine menu that went with each dish we were served. I assumed it would just be a standard "red" and "white" but each course had a different sampling which complimented the course beautifully. I had my absolute dream wedding thanks to this location and when we visit Florence again in the future, we will make sure to book here again and again.

They have a vineyard to grow the grapes for their wine, sold locally only and they do have a bold and beautiful vintage. The winery is very impressive, a portion of the property where they cellar much of the wine to age is left from castle tower which was an impressive site to see. The villa is located in the hills of Florence overlooking several other villas off in the country side. The location serves as a hotel as well as venue for celebrations, the view from the pool is most impressive. They have a very large dining room to entertain guests as well as wine tours. We sat down to an absolutely wonder pesto pasta and plenty of wine. You can walk around and tour the villa as well, the private quarters you will not be able to see but the entire place is absolutely beautiful and as the rest of these properties located across Florence has never left the hands of the family. We left very very happy, very full and with plenty of wine. We purchased some bottles and took them with us. You may also have bottles shipped right there, you won't find it outside of Florence. If you like to take a tour through a company called city wonders, they will arrange everything for you, including transportation and e sure you get home afterwards.

Yet, with just a 10 minute walk, you're right in the middle of everything and can enjoy a scenic view along the way. The location also makes it more peaceful and more reminiscent of that classic Italy feel. The rooms are small, but full of Italian culture and decor. The room had a beautiful garden view and Tuscany style windows that open wide and expose the entire garden. There is also a breakfast that was included every morning at the hotel which was delicious. The staff was sure to remind us everyday to take part in the breakfast and their overall level of service was excellent. From carrying bags to helping flag taxis, they couldn't have been more gracious. A truly great experience and an awesome hotel.

The was a lot of street noise but honestly we were so tired from days of walking around this beautiful city that sleep came quickly! The room has a refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, sink and dishwasher. With an enormously vast and impressive history (just like to everything else in this gorgeous city), you can easily spend an entire day at the Palazzo. Sadly i was limited to a mere 4 hours :( Pitti Palace is walking distance from Ponte Vecchio and houses the Boboli Gardens in addition to a huge amount of major principal works of art. In the Palatine Gallery (which has 28 rooms), one will enjoy many famous Raphael paintings-Madonna della Seggiola, Woman with a Veil, Portrait of Agnolo Doni (just to name a few). I was really excited to see Caravaggio's Sleeping Cupid here as well. Other Galleries include the Silver & Porcelain Museums as well as the Royal Apartments & Costume Gallery. There are different price options for museum entrances depending on where or not you have a Firenze card or what combination of galleries you would like to visit. There is also a cafe/restaurant although i did not try it out.
