A very good hotel which I'm giving five stars since it met my expectations, is great value, and is well located in Florence. It is clean, comfortable, and professional. The staff is small but very friendly and helpful. They speak English very well. The breakfast is excellent. Lots of great stuff, cappuccinos, fruit, cold cuts, pastries, etc. No hot food but I didn't miss it. The bed was comfortable and firm. Tiniest shower that I've used outside of a train but excellent water pressure. Modern and clean bathroom. A safe in the room. Use it. We looked out the back onto what looked like residential areas and you could see the top of the Duomo. If you were on the third floor in the back as our friends were, you'd have a much better view. Strong WiFi. There was construction going on next door which bled noise into our original room. We asked for a change and they kindly accommodated us. That room looked out onto the street and the park and had a great whirlpool type bath shower. But we felt it with the noise of the traffic, and possibly noise from the park, and the construction, we would do better in the back on the 2nd floor. There's a small bar in the lounge area but never used it. There's a great pizza place just next door. If you're too tired to go out for dinner, then run down there, get a couple of pizzas and take them back to the room. Best pizza we had in Italy. Just around the corner is the best gelato place we found in Italy as well. On the corner is a restaurant where we got really great pastries. The hotel is well situated for restaurants, sight seeing, and the train station. We dragged our luggage from the train station to the hotel. We took taxis from the hotel to the train station when we left. The walk is doable and many people are doing it. The sidewalks though are narrow. Many hotels in that area. Good AC. Elevator. Although I'd be tempted to try a different hotel next time just to see, I highly recommend this one. read more
