Villa Igeia is a very nice hotel. It is not too far from the city either. Very nice views, the breakfast was excellent, very nice views of the sea. Please be warned though, this hotel is very very old. The A/C works, but it is not cold, even if you put it all the way down it does not get cold. But it is cool, but if your expecting a nice cold room after a long hot day, then this is not the hotel you want to stay at. I had to move twice to different rooms, one because the A/C was not working in one of the rooms, we moved in the middle of the night! Changed rooms, then had another problem with the new room, the problem with this room was a very damp area in the carpet, it got worse the next day and the room smelled foul. After moving to a third room it was better. This is the reason for 3 stars. Other than that, the hotel and food was excellent. There is a associate working for the concierge there by the name of Phillip. This gentleman had outstanding service, and helped us with everything we asked for. If you need help with local restaurants, attractions, places of interest, or anything in general, go to the concierge desk and ask for Phillip, he will help you with great customer service, and with no attitude. Also, tip him if you can as his service is like no other associate there. He is also very multilingual which was a plus for us. Their staff is okay but not very good English speakers, and the manager has a lousy attitude and acts like he hates his job and doesn't want to help anybody. Overall, this hotel is good, would have gotten 5 stars if not for the not always working A/C and poor management. read more
