He gave us a bid and…read moreseemed professional guaranteeing us that he would have our small guest bathroom done by our requested due date (expected baby arrival date). First red flag was not showing up after the start date he gave us. We had a paid 20% prior to start date as asked by Ethan in order to assure a strong start to the project. A week after not showing up, he demos for about 2 hours... says he is going on a lunch break and never returns. He then sends an invoice for 30% for "first day of work". I asked if we can push that invoice for when actual work has been done because at this point we are behind schedule and he was now asking for 50% for partial demo work. He refused and we felt cornered. He assured us multiple times that this project will get done before our baby's due date( 3 weeks out), but would not come back until second payment was made ( supposed company policy). From then on he was a no show until the 4 days before our project due date and that day let me know that the bathroom will not be done on time and he won't actually start until maybe a week later due to a part that was now out of stock. Remind you we are now 3 weeks delayed and we were under the impression that all parts were already purchased and ready to go due to his communications. My husband ask him for a refund and only wanted to pay him for the little hours he had worked. He refused and was very unprofessional about the entire interaction. We have several planned work days where he was a no show, and when he did come for those three days, he was late everytime and left within a few hours. We are in the process of filing a claim against him to get back some of the money he has stolen from us. He also left our bathroom completely gutted with poor work attempted.. contractors who came to his after him said his work was horrid and laughed when they heard what he charged us in comparison to how his work actually looked like. He left demoed garbage on the side of our yard, and outside our window (which was also opened up and never closed up) he broke a pipe for the bathtub when he removed it which we had to pay to get replaced. And he left the outside of the bathroom floor full of demoed trash and didn't even attempt to keep it all within the bathroom walls. Mind you I have a 1 year old who lives in this home, while pregnant... I cannot express enough how traumatic this experience has been! Please do not support someone so unprofessional as Ethan Gray!! We also reported him to the occupational board of licensing and hopefully we can keep this guy from scamming any other homes.

He had a someone come in a texture the walls and ceiling and it looked like a kid took play dough and threw it at the walls. 3 months later, i asked him to clean up his mess and he came up took his stuff he wanted and left the rest for us to clean up. I had to hire a carpenter to finish the trim, painting and the flooring. He made alot of promises and never kept them. He never finished the items he quoted on the bid and after I paid him the bid he quoted he didn't feel I paid him enough and is now taking me to collections.
