If you are considering enrolling your child here, I would encourage you to proceed with caution…read more Before our child started, we clearly communicated to the staff that he struggles with attention and discussed his behavioral challenges in detail. We were reassured that they would work with him, support his progress, and that there was no need for concern. However, after only three days of attendance, we received a phone call at pickup informing us--without any prior warning or discussion--that it would be his last day. If you have a 3-year-old with similar behavioral challenges, I would recommend taking their assurances with caution and making sure you have a backup plan in place, as unfortunately we did not. If there was an option for 0 stars I'd pick that.

I worked here so my review is more based on the employment side. Not the childcare aspect of it…read more I absolutely adored this job. I worked at previous day cares in my hometown and this one has been my favorite so far. The director (Ms Anna) and program manager (Ms Cassy) are some really amazing, kind hearted people. They always have the best interest of the kids in mind, you can tell they are really in it for the best reasons! There were tons of areas for me to grow and learn as a worker there. I was able to work with almost every age group (which was THE BEST part). The community of workers here was also my favorite part. Everyone who worked here while I did was exactly what I would want in a childcare for my child. Loving, caring people with the ability to teach and adapt to different children's learning styles. Easily one of the best jobs I have ever had!!

The center is in the basement of a church so as you can imagine it's a bit drab, but it is always clean and they are really trying to keep the area nice and friendly. The teachers are wonderful and my son just adores Miss Crystal, so I say if my 3 year-old likes it then that's good enough for me! One thing that does bother me is that they don't have much of a web presence, so if you are looking for more information about them, here is what they have on their very hard to find website (http://chicocma.com/final1_013.htm) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chico Christian Childcare has been administering the Lord Jesus to children since 1974. "Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it." -Proverbs 22:6 We offer: * Childcare for children ages 4 weeks up to 6th grade * Year round 2 1/2 year old/Early Learning Preschool class which includes potty training! * Year round Preschool/Pre-K classes for 3, 4, and 5 year olds, with fun field trips. Photo identification is required to pick up children. Please come see what we are about!

He has such an easy and clear manner in teaching his class. What both impressed and surprised me is how certain CPR instructions have changed in the past two years. Kevin gave detailed instructions even in where/how to stand next to someone having a cardiac or choking event, where to position legs and feet and where to put the cellphone (on speakerphone) next to the victim for talking with a 911 operator. Kevin's trainings are replete with stories about calls he's been on in the past year or so and the specific reasons why some of those calls had happy or tragic endings. The expanse of his knowledge on his subject is breathtaking--so he's the right guy to be teaching this class! Also, we've been to CPR/First Aid certification training that dragged on and on. Kevin's class flies by while ensuring we all have not only gained or refreshed knowledge but had that right amount of hands-on practice. He covers so much in his 3-hour training that it's best to just take the class to discover all it encompasses. And--Kevin? See you in two years, my friend.

Super happy I decided on the Defensive Driving School located in Silverdale! Three things made my…read moreexperience at Defensive positive, stress-free, and successful (as I passed my driving test on the first try!) 1. The instructor: Mitch is such a rad guy. He is patient, laid-back, and upfront-- if you are doing great, he let's you know what you're succeeding in which increases your confidence in driving and reinforces GOOD "habits" (driving techniques)! If you're struggling, he will also not hesitate to let you know where you need improvement without condescending or belittling you. I made some pretty embarrassing mistakes during some lessons, but he never once made me feel silly or discouraged for messing up, instead he provided insight and tips which alleviated a lot of pressure. His style of teaching also makes it so much easier to learn because there are no surprises and there is no awkwardness either. Ultimately, I believe his teaching style would work for anyone because he adjusts his lessons to fit his learner and what works best for them, whether that is more verbal guidance or taking you step-by-step once, twice, fifteen times. I really enjoyed my time spent with Mitch and his success in teaching really reflects in his students' vast improvement-- I never thought parallel parking would be such a snap for me as it is now! Additionally, because he is the main instructor at this location, more often than not you will end up taking your skills test with him which really is a huge benefit for anyone taking the skills test the first time around-- I wasn't nervous at all and my confidence showed because I knew he had given me all the tools I needed to pass. 2. Flexibility of hours and Variety of driving packages: As a recent college grad just getting their driving license, I am so happy I was able to skip the classroom sessions and group car rides and instead get one-on-one lessons with Mitch. I am a much better individual learner than I am group learner, so this contributed to my comfort, lessened my anxiety, and allowed me to really grasp the skills quickly. From browsing around, Defensive is the only driving school I found in the area that had so many different packages, from classes with driving practice for teens to those like me who want multiple 1-hr or 90-minute one-on-one lessons. I liked that I could shape the lessons around my schedule, as someone going through lots of changes-- something which was not offered at other competitors in the area. Additionally, as an adult, there are options of booking lessons as closely/far apart from one another as desired which may be a helpful note for folks like me who are not teens-- just call their customer service hotline and let them know you need them to change your profile to fit this feature. However, it's important to note that teens cannot book lessons any closer than 5 days apart. The schedule agent online booking site they use makes appointment bookings easy as can be. You don't have to wait to call to book lessons and there's no need to walk in with a check, which was convenient for me. If you ever need to reschedule or made a mistake on the site, Defensive's customer line is just as impressive as everything else, as they were always super kind, clear, quick (but not rushy), and helpful on the phone. 3. Price: For my 5 lessons, I thought what I paid was fair and every dollar was well spent. Some people may look at the classroom/driving packages for their teens and be tempted to not book with Defensive and go for a cheaper competitor, but I cannot sincerely say enough that you cannot compete with the level of professionalism and skill that they have here! Overall I'm a happy and safe new driver thanks to Mitch and would recommend Defensive @ Silverdale for new drivers!

Tutoring isn't cheap but sometimes it's critical for helping your child. We started with Kumon last…read moresummer for our son now in 2nd grade. Queenie Louie is the director for Factoria and Mercer Island. She is kind yet firm with her students. The program is great - the foundation is start with what the student can handle and then practice, practice, practice. As the student masters a level, they go on to the next level. They cover math and reading. They work with pre-K through high school. The work does not take a lot of time for the student, but it's daily practice with one visit per week to the center. Kumon is an affordable solution for extra help that our schools don't provide. I highly recommend Queenie and her 2 centers.
