Everyone seemed very nice and although everyone was masked and provided appropriate safety measures on the tour, my child's teacher and at least two other individuals that work here do not believe in wearing a mask to protect the vulnerable children during this deadly pandemic. We had to un-enroll her after just two days here. To me, this demonstrated a poor lack of judgment among other things. Why wouldn't you want to protect the children you're teaching? I spoke with the director and she apologized and refunded all of our money. The issue with the staff not masking is complicated as they claimed a religious exemption to masking (which isn't a real thing)! We're two years into his pandemic. Wearing a mask isn't hard. I'm a nurse and wear one all day while caring for patients. It's not hard to protect yourself and others. It amazes me that I even have to write this right now but I want others to be aware before enrolling here in case keeping their children safe at preschool is a concern for them.

According to Security staff at Olympic College, I did not have to pay for parking. Parking is free in the summer. I was charged anyway for parking by the cashier while paying out of pocket for my classes. The Accuplacer Placement Exam is to see if I should take a certain Math course for Medical Assisting. The office where you could ask questions about the exam, closed at 1130am the day I was told to sign up for the test. I went online to sign up for the test and found out the fee was 25 dollars. Another out of pocket expense. Since the office was closed that handles the exam was closed: i put my credit card in the system and paid the 25 dollars. Unbeknownst to me, and because the office was closed, I did not know that the 25 dollars was not refundable. When I checked my calendar at home, I found out I had doctor appointments when the exam was to be taken. I immediately called the testing center at Olympic College to try and get a refund. No one answered the phone and of course no one was in the office. On the website for the 25-dollar Accuplacer test , there was not a warning that I would not get a refund if I canceled the test. The warning came after you had given the 25 dollar payment. I was shocked that an institution would not warn students beforehand. Becoming a Medical Assistant was my next goal after CNA program. When I talked to an employee who helped run the program, she told me that my previous courses taken at Olympic College would carry over to getting me a Medical Assistant certificate. When I met with the supervisor who was in charge of the program, her response took a negative tone. The supervisor told me that I would have to pay for all the classes over again. Being suspicious of her antics, I emailed the Dean of Olympic College. I got no response from the Dean. To me, this seems like a money grab. I am paying for my own college classes. I should not be paying to take the same classes over. Olympic College should ask the lawmakers to give them more money to stay open. Do not depend on students paying (out of pocket).

He has just recently been diagnosed with ADHD and was having issues in this preschool and has miraculously been doing amazing since going to kindergarten and leaving this facility. On numerous occasions I heard the way the staff spoke to my child along with other kids, and rushing them to next tasks. My son even mentioned them pinching his hands when they grabbed him. I knew something was off with my son due to tantrums and such and wanted resources to figure out what was going on that the director could hardly provide and refused to help me and when I asked for help multiple times ended up calling me "verbally abusive" because I called her and her staff out for their negligence and mistreatment of my child. Saying his behavior was due to "making choices." Come to find out he actually has ADHD which makes transitions, being yelled at, and demanded things very difficult to process. Crazy how a mom just knows their child but people try to tell you that your child is just "difficult" because he didn't fit in to a very ludicrous situation. My son is by no means perfect but really needed compassion and understanding. But it all worked out in the end!

First of all…read morewhen I was comparing programs prior to choosing this one, they were the most friendly and welcoming and accommodating by far. I didn't feel like they were scripted when explaining what they can offer in the child care program or the instruction for my daughter. You can tell they are real people who love children and understand kids like structure but play time as well. The hours that they run are amazing; the best I have seen around. (I think 6am all the way to 7pm) Now I normally do only part of that but if I have to run an errand prior to pick up I know I have more than enough time. My drop off and pick up times change a lot, and can change daily which is absolutely fine with them. When my daughter started she was initially full time, 5 days a week. Now she does part time as my schedule has changed and they even allow drop in care. Since my daughter is only drop in now, I just need to call and let them know when I'll be dropping her "in". I can call as late as that morning! Another perk is the cost of care. If you have less than 5 hours a day it's a part time rate and if it's more than 5 hours the cost is a full time day. That is daily; one day can be 3 hours, the next maybe a long day at work and its 9 hours. That would be the cost of one full day and one part day. It's not all or nothing like all the other places. Last I would like to mention is the staff and director are very friendly and really love the kids. There has not been one time that I have seen them be any less then caring. I have walked in to pick up my daughter and witnessed pure melt downs of another child and they handled it gracefully and with empathy. I have no complaints. I highly recommend them.

I am having issues with a…read morecouple different subjects that I need to address.  I have driven class B passenger 45 ft coaches for 3 years in Alaska and instructed for 1 winter for a very popular tourism company. The pre trip inspection with Hamad went well. He is a good instructor that cares. he is the only reason why this place gets 1 star and not 0! The secretary Doinia and the other girl seem nice. The backing coach I have a hard time understanding and he is always angry and yells at students frequently. He spends 95% of his time on the phone. The course is too small, filled with potholes, uneven,  and cones not set up properly with no measurements at all.  Half the vehicles have mechanical issues like air leaks.  I bring these issues up and they dismiss it and then that vehicle breaks down a few days later and they find out that it was the problem that I stated earlier. The syllabus isn't followed, after in cab, you're supposed to be able to back. That's not followed. On my sign in, I'm supposed to do city as well as backing. That's not followed. I bring all these issues up, I'm ignored and they pretend to be busy and hide in the office.  Signing up for backing is first come first serve every morning which is terrible for those who show up later. I'm promised two 30 minute sessions and I never get that not even once.  I can't even city drive even though they are separate skills and with my 2 week class schedule,  I will never get that completed.  Today I was approved to go city driving because of my past experience and the fact that I am not able to get the lessons I paid for in the time that day set me up for which is 2 weeks. But then the worst thing you can ever imagine happened That stops all instruction: ITS RAINING, IN SEATTLE! Everyone has to stop driving and there is no one backing because it's raining. So what does the management go do? They go into the mechanic shop and start making a huge meal with chicken and lots of other Russian delicacies Because they think it's too dangerous to drive-in the rain. I feel like I am not set up for success at your Kent school and I hope to be heard.  If you are looking for a school to get your CDL, Avoid the Kent school at all costs. Justin Fox

Sadly I didn't finish it because I had to go number 1 really bad. And my leader named Cassidy is the best she deserves a raise because she was so nice and she knew how to treat us and it was so so easy to talk to her I loved it so much.
